Hey all, I did not have much luck using the search. Tried to find other people who have had this problem. **Plus nobody responded in the General forum so here I am again. **
We have 4 ATT Tilt 2 phones in my department. All with the same rom, radio, settings, etc. The difference in the phones is that 2 of them were purchased about a year earlier than the other 2.
*PROBLEM* TWO of the phones (the newer purchased Tilt 2's) we are getting alerts for high data usage from ATT. Looked at the ATT data logs, sure enough they have high data usage, large amounts at odd times. like 20mb - 100+mb transfers in the late night early morning, during the day. Not good, it is all adding up quick with no suspect in sight. The 2 users with this problem, use the phone data less than I do for day to day tasks and I am way under the alert limit, its not something they are causing---some of these data periods are while the user is ASLEEP (and no, we do NOT use MS myphone sync). Its got to be a phone software or software compatibility with the newer Tilt 2 hardware or something. I tried a couple different ROMS, same problem. Right now we are all on Energy.RHODIUM.21684.Sense2.5.Cookie.sencity.Nov.0 8
Radio: 4.49.25.77 (best signal in our area) Michigan
Please help. Thanks to anybody who can provide some guidance.
sounds like it is connecting for something and not disconnecting. I have this problem sometimes when it connects to download my email and weather, it will stay connected all night and kill my battery by the time i wake up.
TRY THIS, CREDITS TO THE GUY THAT HAD THE TIME TO PUT THIS TOGETHER, NOT ME
Enable Auto Data Disconnect for Auto Email Downloads and Other Downloads with a Cab File
When you have auto email downloads enabled, data is not disoconnected after mail retrieval and thus your battery is drained much faster. Modify the following reg edit to have data disconnect after 60 seconds. You can test this by tapping on the notfification bar while downloading emails and watch the data connection close after idle for 60 seconds. Please note. Data connection will NOT auto disconnect if you have any HTC Sense auto download enabled such as Weather, Twitter, Stocks, Facebook or Time Sync. Please set these apps to manual download only. Please note that this setting has the possible effect of disabling simultaneous voice and data on some devices, even if you are on a capable network and signal. See Tip 70 for an app that works with even HTC data downloads.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings
CacheTime = 60
SuspendResume = should be blank. Delete "GPRS_bye_if_device_off" text.
VPNCacheTime = 60
Finally An Auto Data Disconnection That Works - Save Battery Life!
Download the following cab file http://www.commmgrpro.com/CommMgrPro...witch.V2.8.cab
You can set it to disconnect data after 60 seconds or more or less thus saving you battery. Read the thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ght=bandswitch
Tried and tested for over a 2 weeks on my HD2 and works perfectly. Use INSTEAD of Tip 33.
The only problem i have with this is that it kind of defeats the purpose of a smart/connected phone. Its just so strange that only 2 of the 4 phones have this high data use problem, and they were all setup by the same person.
But on the other hand, it would be a good test method for data usage before and after. THANK YA!

make sure your weather isnt set to download on its own because it will not auto disconnect.
other things like email and stuff like that will usually not auto disconnect either.
Ok we will try that and see what happens. Will report back

Have this exact same problem using the latest Simplicity rom. Nothing, not even the weather is set to auto update, and by and large I no longer even use the phone save for 2 or 3 phone calls a month. Yet, like clockwork, get data warnings.
I wonder if this has anything to do with it (SEEING THAT BOTH OF OUR USERS WITH THE PROBLEM WERE LINKED TO YAHOO MAIL ACCOUNTS! And not the rest of us)

That problem is not just on wp7 is happening on iphones too. so u better unlink those yahoo mail accoounts or put your setting for manual downlad.
I unlinked my Yahoo account and disabled auto update of Sense Weather, my data usage did go down, not that I care about it as I have unlimited, but was surprised at how much better battery life I now have.
So I've got a new Samsung Gear Live from the Play Store. I'm attempting to pair the device to a Nexus 5 running stock 4.4.4.
When I turn on the Gear Live I'm prompted with selecting a language. I choose English US. Then i'm taken to the "Install Android Wear on your phone" Screen
At first this screen would show me the text "Gear Live 4AFV" (or something along those lines). However 9/10 (after rebooting or resetting the watch) it will simply show me "Gear Live" no 4 digit name.
Without the 4 digits showing the phone will not detect the bluetooth device to connect. On the off chance that it does show up and the phone is able to detect the watch, the pairing process can either work, or stall leaving both devices sitting at a "wait a moment while pairing" screen that never ends.
Lastly, if everything works and i'm able to pair the watch and phone. it will randomly disconnect and nothing I do will make it reconnect to one another.
Other things to note. Bluetooth has no issues on my phone with any other device.
I've reset the watch numerous times,
I've uninstalled the Android Wear app as well as any other watchfaces or launchers.
I've factory reset the phone.
Suffice it to say i'm almost certain there is a problem with the watch, the question is has anyone else experience this or anything similar with a Reset hasn't fixed the problem and is there possibly a solution to this problem that isn't a replacement.
Google has offered to replace the watch but I want to ensure I"m not missing something here.
thanks for any assistance in advance.

I have the same connection issue but not until I updated it to Android version 5.0 that I started to get connection issues and the gear live was constantly doing a sync loop and it would not stay connected or send SMS messages.
It's third or fourth time that I face this problem
After three or four hours of rooting my phone, automatically and with no manually job, the SuperSu app gets removed
The Google apps can not connect to server
The Gmail can not connect to Gmail
Google Play Games can not connect to its server
I don't know why, but it's a new prob I am seeing
I bought this phone 9 months ago, and never had this prob before, but in the late 30 days, it's fourth time to see such a thing
How could you help me?
Rather than the pro help me
Hi all iam trying to set the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 I bought for my 7 year old.
My problem is, the tablet is mainly for him. Is there any way to make the primary profile restricted? i.e for him, and then the secondary profile for me and other adults to use. I don't want to have to switch to his profile every time the device is turned on. Ive tested this and you need to switch back when its turned off.
Or if I can restrict internet usage mainly on the main profile he can use that.
This has bothered me since long time, on several wear os watches. Problem is the following:
I have currently a samsung fold 4 and a samsung watch 5 pro LTE (but i've had the problem on other devices too in the past, al wear os devices).
When the watch is connected through bluetooth there is not a single issue. If i have my phone on the table for several hours, while not touching it, all notifications are instantly pushed to the watch, no delays.
However, when i leave my phone at home and going out with my watch only, it will correctly switch over to LTE connection and there the problems start. When my phone is recently used (few minutes ago) the watch can establish a remote connection. At that moment al notifications are pushed to the watch, almost no delays. However, after a while, usually within 30 a 60 minutes the notifications start to be delayed, and even the remote connection just stops (seeing the disconnected symbol on the watch). also sending messages or replying them on the watch is instantly and correct at first, but starts to fail after a while.
It seems like the google cloud sync service is killed after a while on the phone, preventing the forwarding of phone notifications to the watch over LTE (cloud sync). I tried everyting on my samsung phone, changing the battery optimizations of all samsung wearable apps and plugins, google apps, play service etc... I turned of as many battery saving features i could find on my phone, but no luck. If i leave the phone on the charger, the cloud sync keeps working for a longer time, but agian, ofter some time it will slow down, starting with unablity to reply or send messages from the watch, to complete disconnection... Al this while the internet connections on the phone and watch are rock stable...
Has anybody any clue why this happens?? Is there some trick or setting i overlooked? Does anybody know which app or service on the phone (samsung) is responsible for this google cloud sync?
again, this is not only on this phone-watch combo, i had several wear os watches from different brands in the past, but mostly samsung flagship phones. I cant believe that two samsung devices are not software optimized so these issues cant happen... I always bought LTE watches so i could go for a run or go to the gym phone free, is brilliant when it works, but VERY annoying when it usualy is not reliable.... I'm thinking even to switch to the apple camp, hoping those issues are not present on apple watch cellular... But i like samsung devices more then iphone ....
