How to Remove your locked bookmarks from Stock Android browser on the S5. This may work on other Samsung Phones but I haven't tested it.
1. Root your S5
2. Go to Playstore and get Root Browser app or a good root accessible file editor and allow it Root privilege. I tried ES Explorer and for some reason it would not save file for me after editing.
3. Open Root Browser app, navigate down tap system/csc/ customer.xml
4. Select the RB Text Editor
5. Swipe down until you find <Browser> <NetworkName>ATT</NetworkName><Editable>No</Editable> Change the No to yes so it says <Editable>yes</Editable> do this for all 4.
6.Save and exit out.
7. Reboot
8. Go to Settings, Application Manager, All apps, Internet, Clear cashe, Clear data. Exit out
9. Go into Internet browser, You can now delete those bookmarks out. You will have to set your home page back up and you will lose your other Bookmarks, but if they are linked to your Samsung account you can load them back up.
I am not responsible if you mess up your phone. Please, hit the thanks button if you used this to get rid of bookmarks.
Can I get a Mod to edit my Title and add a little Bold. Plus insert a on before S5. Please!!! And Thank You
Pretty amazed that only 3 people have used this out of 230 views.

A few of us do not have a customer.xml file to edit.
I just did it. Works perfect. Thank you.

Has anyone else noticed this? I cannot find any way to clear the download history of Androids built in browser since updating to Froyo.
From Browser [menu] > More > Downloads, [menu] no longer has an option to clear downloads, only "Cancel all downloads".
Clearing browsing history and cache doesn't do it either. They stay there no matter what I do.
Any ideas?
I was just wondering if you had figured out how to clear the downloads from that list, since I have run into the same problem.
Long pressing a file and selecting delete will remove the file from the downloads list. Obviously it also deletes the file.

That works, but as you say, not much use when it deletes the file too.
On the latest FRF72 this is still a problem, there doesn't seem to be any way to clear your download history. It's stuck there forever. Nice one Google
Go to manage applications select download manager and clear data
download history
Well this isn't an answer to the problem but more so a walk around. If you use a file manager to move the file to a sub folder it leaves your download history.
Froyo Browser - Clear Download History? PARTIAL SOLUTION
Hey,
I thougt I would share this information since i was going thru the same problem.
I am currently running 2.3.3 on T-Mobile G2:
1-Using AndroZip Pro File Manager go into Downloads folder and Delete the files.
2-Once files are deleted go back to the Browser, Menu, More, Downloads.
3-Long Press the file and it will tell you it did not find file so it will give you the option to Delete.
It worked for me.
Hope this Helps!
Whats the easiest way to backup the S-Memo data. Using it for meetings and with the new ROM's I would like to backup the data. Where is the data held?
Thanks
Sync with google or evernote. I never tried it but there is an option for it
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Sync wic google docs
Its gud
Nd if u delete some doc frm ur fone..stil it wil remain on gdocs wich u cn use later
Deletd docs wont b syncd bak to ur fone
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
Google sync does not work properly. If there are no memos on the phone and you try to sync back from google docs then it inserts the notes as pictures within notes. After a couple of such syncs the original note becomes a picture in a picture in a note. Needless to say the loss in resolution makes it impossible to read them.
A friend has the same problem so it is not just me. Does anyone know of a solution? The best would have been a folder that could simply be on the sdcard. I love using the S Memo application and just wish they had given some thought to the storage issue.
Thanks,
damn another unsolved thread!
for me syncing with "evernote" works fine, it also gives me the option to edit notes on the pc and sync it back to my phone, it is quite nice as my secretary shares a folder with me and she can send me in real time notes.
Unlike to Google evernote is really syncing, but this means if you delete a not or Snote then it is going to be deleted on the phone as well.

I have found a method of backing up the drawings / text from S-Memo exactly as they are (as in you are still able to draw and erase on them) but the backup process isn't exactly "easy".
NB: Now I am just going to assume that users who are reading this have never heard of Titanium Backup or are not familiar with the program.
====================
To backup S-Memo data:
1. Go into your app drawer and open the file explorer program My files (or any other file management program you have like Astro or ES etc).
2. Navigate to your external SD storage (/sdcard/External_SD) and create a folder there called Titanium (or any other name you desire). Once that's done you can exit.
3. Then you need to download the app Titanium Backup Free or Pro (Free version from Google Play here), Install.
4. Open Titanium Backup > click your phone's menu button > Preferences.
5. Select Backup folder location. Now, using your phone's back button to (suprise!) go back, navigate to the folder you created in step 1 of this guide (if you followed the guide it will be in /sdcard/External_SD/Titanium. After you are inside the folder you created, select Use the current folder. Now hit your phone's back button.
6. Still in Titanium Backup app, select the Backup / Restore tab from the top.
7. Scroll down and find the S-Memo app (screenshot 1 attached below). Single-tap it, then press the Backup ! button (screenshot 2).
8. Done!
p.s. Just a quick explanation of what we did, essentially we created a folder for Titanium Backup to store its backup files in a place that is not on the internal SD. Therefore if we decide to do a full system wipe which included the internal SD (whether deliberately or accidentally) our backup data would not be wiped with it (I think the default Titanium Backup location is /sdcard/TitaniumBackup i.e. on the internal SD for our phone).
====================
To restore S-Memo data:
1. Install Titanium Backup again (remember we wiped our phones, so the app is gone?).
2. Same process as steps 4 and 5 from above: Open Titanium Backup > phone's menu button > Preferences > Backup folder location > navigate to /sdcard/External_SD/Titanium (or wherever you saved it) > Use the current folder.
3. Now hit your phone's back button > then press the Backup / Restore tab.
4. Find the S-Memo app > select it > press Restore (screenshot 3). When you're done you can exit Titanium Backup.
Now here is where it gets interesting...
5. Open S-Memo... and you may notice the drawings / text you have created have been restored, but have one of the following problems:
- Image missing from the note preview.
- Only part of the image is visible in the note preview.
- The image preview is displaying something random.
This is what has happened: The drawings / text you have created from before have been restored, but the preview of the drawing / text has not been updated on your new system (I have no idea where S-Memo stores that). So if you select the drawing / text, it is an exact copy of the original, but you just can't see it in the S-Memo preview.
6. To get that preview back, do the following:
For drawings: Open the drawing > draw something (like a dot) > then you can erase it during the same drawing session > click Save.
For text: Open the text > type a letter or something > delete it during the same drawing session > click Save.
7. Now the preview of the note should accurately reflect the contents of the note!
====================
I'm not sure if there is another easier method than this, but I have been using this method successfully through multiple wipes (I should really stop messing around with system files ) to restore my S-Memos perfectly. A very long, but (I'm pretty sure!) a garuanteed method to work. If anyone else has another method do let us know.
Enjoy your restored notes
Retrieve original sketches which came with the Note
I seem to have lost the original sketches which came with my SNote. Does anyone know how I can retrieve them? I didn't back them up....

You could try to search on the file system for the folder where the files are stored by the app.
Then use a file restore program to try and undelete the files.
ANd oh yeah, make BACKUPS! then you would not be in this situation (yes it is stating the obvious).
I have some additional info for users who update there Note app to the newer version.
You can use the same procedure as above to restore data + app.
Just rename the Smemo.apk, do a restore of app+data, remove the restored app, rename the newer Snote app to it's normal name and start it.
You will see some conversion, then it works (at least it did for me).
To restore the preview images, back up the /Sd Card/S-memo folder before you flash, then overwrite with your backup afterwards. The thumbnails / Previews are stored as ordinary JPGs.
Now if only I can manage to extract that folder from my nandroid backup... :silly:
why not use Titanium backup pro's cloud sync option - you can password protect all files too.
Even if my phone dropped to the bottom of the sea, i will always have my contacts, cal, apps and selected folders backed up and password protected online.
I have not tried restoring S memo data, but im sure TB pro will restore it fine.

This solution required device to be rooted first!
Or else nothing will work!
I just flashed CyanogenMod 9 on my Touchpad and am loving it. I added one google account to it at first, which was great b/c it downloaded all the apps on my RAZR. But I want to remove the account because my daughter uses the Touchpad and I don't want her to have access to my gmail and talk, etc. (I am a newbie so I used the stable CyanogenMod, not the nightly.) I tried to go to remove account but it is grayed out and I can't figure out a work-around.
Any insights?
Thanks!

Try adding another account (make a new Gmail account). Once that's done, you should be able to remove the other one. Let her use this one as her email account, I'm sure she'll like that......
Or you could install an app protector and also switch off sync for that email so it doesn't receive notifications
The best app I have come across for this scenario is an app called switchme. It acts like how your computer would if you had two user account on there. Once you install it, you can create a new profile. Selecting it will reboot your device and start up as a clean ROM with no market apps and no google account linked to it. You can then add her google account to that profile (if she has one) and she can sync all her own stuff, not interfering with yours. You can then switch between profiles at will. Its an awesome app.
Here's a thread link:

thanks but....
Thanks. I did add another account but I cannot remove mine. Looks like cyanogen doesn't have that enabled (because I was able to do that on my other daughter's Xoom when it was running gingerbread.
I would prefer not creating a new profile completely because then I'd lose all the apps that I've installed, like I did on the Xoom. I was able to turn notifications to my gmail account off but don't want her (or my ex!) to have access to my gmail.
Thanks.
Unfortunately this is an android issue. You can't remove the initial account you use without wiping data and starting over.

hmm, did not know that. So if that is the case, the OP should reset the device, and start it with a different gmail account for his daughter. Then he can add his regular gmail account afterward, install the apps he wants, and then remove the account when complete.
Or maybe use titanium backup to backup his current apps now. do a factory reset, then setup with a new gmail account, install TB on the new account, and then restore the old apps.
I still say the app I linked to is a good thing to get for his situation. Its two accounts running side by side and each person can log into their own account with their own apps and wont have access to each others. You can even set a password just like on a computer.
1. Download "Root Explorer" from Android Market
2. Explore to /data/system/ and find this file : accounts.db
3. Delete that file (accounts.db)
4. Reboot your Android device.
5. Voilà…you can register another account.

the file in something like /data/system/users/0 or something similar (YMMV). But it worked for me.
Hello everyone,
I forget my Galaxy Note S Memo pin code. how to reset the pin?
please help
thanks
Hi
please help
ciaides l'île
Complete wipe maybe but you will loose your datas, or contact samsung ?
first sync your smemo with evernote or googlenote (to backp your memos/notes)
then go to the smemo directory on your phone and delete it.
(need root)
then restart smemo and enter a new password.
This will allow you to use smemo with new lock again.
I even found out, that when syncing with evernote the lock was gone on those notes. But this was on GB, I am not sure if it is the same on ICS
I assume you have root access.
Get a Root File Browser which can open .db files. I used: Root Browser. Make sure you download the plugins at first run. (2-3MB in size)
Browse to: /data/user/0/com.sec.android.app.memo/databases/
Open Memo.db
Open memo_content
Go to C2CONTENT tab, each entry here is a line of your memo. You should see as many entries as the number of total lines in all your memos. Theres your data!
PS: In case the path I wrote above is not the same for your phone, the idea is to find the memo app data in /data/user.
It's very annoying.
There is no way to open it if you forgot the pin.
Even if you don't need the files anymore and delete them, they keep coming back because Samsung server restore the files and puts them back.
So, you can either create a new Samsung account and start from scratch OR use a root explorer (EX File Explorer) and hide the file. It won't show on S Memo or S Note anymore.

Yes sir! ES File Explorer is what I use all of the time. If you have an .apk file on your SD card, all you have to do is find it, long tap it bringing up the menu, tap "send" at the bottom, use bluetooth and find the device you wish to send to.
If you want to find an app that you have installed or even a system app (like a music app from a new ROM that you want to share), tap "app manager" (the second one in on the right, and you may need to long press to find it because it isn't the only manager), then tap "category", the third one from the right, and tap "all" that comes up from the pop-up menu. Select an app, send and install on the other device. You can even backup apks this way if you don't use Titanium Backup (no data tho, that's where you use titanium backup).
Anyway, goodluck! Hopefully this works for you
