Hi there, I have gt-i9295 and I didn't update my phone to 4.4.2 yet. First of all, I wonder if I can do this:
When 4.4.2 is available for my country, I will flash stock 4.2.2 and use TriangleAway. Then I'll update my device to 4.4.2 .
I'm not quite sure that 4.2.2 has knox for gt-i9295 but I don't see any counter in odin mode. Is it possible to do that and reclaim my warranty?
And is there any knox-free version of 4.4.2 so I can flash it now and use it until 4.4.2 arrives for my country. Without increasing knox counter.
As I know, Netherlands version has no built in Knox. So you can easy migrate to 4.2 in case of any troubles with kk.

My Dad has the original unlocked Note, and I'm wondering how I can update to the official Jelly Bean without rooting or voiding warranty, as it isn't showing up in the OTA menu.
Open Samsung kies and Let it download the update or go to settings and update via OTA
Let me know if you have issues with this we will walk you through it
I've tried updating via both Kies and in About Phone, both places say that it's the most recent firmware available.
OK you are on a version that hasn't received the OTA yet.
You will have to install it via PC Odin.
Go to Dr.ketan's sticky thread for step by step instructions.

Hey , Im also trying to update to 4.1.2 but im kinda stuck cause i have the eMMC brick bug (You get it when you update to 4.0.4) can you tell me what you did or if you run into any errors and how to fix it cause im totally new and dont know what to do :/ and yeah i think the difference is that you wont get OTA updates i think
EDIT: switched the numbers in the title...instead of 4.2.1 it is 4.1.2
hi!
if i root my xperia z (currently on 4.1.2), will i be able to update "normally" when sony releases 4.2.2? even if i installed some mods?
my brother has a rooted samsung, and official updates won't be applied.
thanks for your help
As long as you don't unlock the bootloader, you should be able to connect to pc companion and update your machine.

You will have to re-root it and keep a backup with titanium backup..Mods will have to be flashed again though.

You will have to re-root again every time you update the firmware
thanks for your answers.
should've written that i know that i then will have to re-root 4.2.2. (and eventually reflash the mods, but for flashing you'll need an unlocked bootloader).
but my concern is if i'll be able to update a rooted 4.1.2 to a non-rooted 4.2.2.
but as far as i can see that as long as i don't unlock my bootloader, it'll be possible.
Hi
I just want to know if i can flash 4.1.2 I9305XXBLL3 to 4.3 knox bootloader
I didn't like 4.3 and i want 4.1.2
I don't care about knox 0x1
For now, I don't think that you can flash back to stock 4.1 after flashing stock 4.3 knok. You will brick your phone.
Why don't you go for custom Rom instead of stock rom. Kitkat 4.4.2 is quite good.

That Knox thing really sucks. I just got my phone and after I switched it on I just accepted the 4.3 update. Had I kown I would have refrained from doing so... Let's just hope some great dev will come up with a workaround...
I was reading something about not being able to go back form 4.4 back to 4.3
is is true that I cant go back to 4.3 or lower if I change to 4.4, are they talking guff or is that only to do with if you have update to official stock firmware
thank you for your help in advance
Edit: ive modded my phone already tripped knox so that's not a problem. im running cm 10.1.3 stable at the mo
i assume you talk about CM11 - 4.4 - official 4.4 is not out yet...
ofc you can go back...i did it twice already...also got knox to 1(don't care)....
used OMNI ROM(4.4.2) - now on stock rooted and removed some samsung apps.
Of course, Odin back to 4.1.2, then flash 4.3again.

Have you flashed the stock 4.3 firmware before? If not, you don't have to care about Knox boot loader.

I was on 4.1.2 ripper rom first. Then 4.3 alliance rom and after it I tried many 4.4.2 aosp Roms. Now I wanted to go back to 4.3 and I flashed alliance rom without data wipe and it works like a charm. Maybe it's better to wipe, but for me it worked without it. Important is that you don't have Knox on your Sammy.
