I'm having a problem getting true stereo using my Aux output to my CD player. One of the channels is either very muted, or its playing mono through both speakers, I can't tell, but it's not right. Bluetooth plays fine. I've had this problem before with my Rezound, but when I rebooted it the problem would go away, I've rebooted my X with no such luck. Anyone else have this problem or know how to correct it? Thanks.

Sounds like it could be a bad connection to the cable. Have your tried a different cable our tried cleaning out the jacks on either end?

I found the problem, turns out my right speaker was blown. The reason the Bluetooth seemed to work was because the Bluetooth device I use is a cheap Chinese model, and the channels are wired backwards, so the guitar parts I thought weren't playing would play through the left speaker. Murphys law I guess. Thanks for the help though.

Hi guys, I tend to flash ROM's pretty frequently. I've noticed that my headphones stopped working properly. I only heard the audio on my left headphone and not the one on the right. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance. This is a great community we have here. I have new headphones so I don't believe that is the problem.
That's usually the problem when only works. Have you tried them on anything else to confirm? Maybe there's debris blocking contact

Thanks for your response be-eock. Love your work here on xda. I tried my new headphones on other things and they are working great. It is only when I use them on my phone that I only get audio on the left side.

Try cleaning out the jack for the headphones.
I tried cleaning it out with a q-tip and got some minor cleaning done but no luck with the headphone sound. I tried voodoo sound to push mono instead of stereo through the headphones but no luck.

I have finally figured out what the problem is. The headphone jack is starting to go. When I press down on the headphone while in the jack I was able to finally get sound out of the right-headphone. Thanks for the suggestions. Now I have to figure out how to replace the jack.

When using my Shure SRH440 headphones I can hear some kind of sound transfer when the back of the phone is rubbed. It gets worse when the phone is placed in my pocket where it rubs against the inside of my pocket. It seems like the headphone jack isn't properly isolated from the back or frame of the phone. Is this a defect in my phone or something that affects all Moto X phones. I have a Galaxy Note 2 and an iPhone 5 neither have this problem.

Just tried to duplicate your issue with 3 pairs of high end headphones and couldn't. It might be a defect with your phone.

No static with the following :
Hippo VB IEM
Atrio MG7 item
DT770 pro 80 ohm headphones
Custom one pro headphones
To my understanding, Shure IEM pick up noise very easily. They tend to be sensitive to the source used. Try another iem just to test.

I tested with both my Shure SE530 and E5C and had zero issue, both IEMs.
Tried to replicate with iPod ear buds, klipsch IEM's and another pair if Shure lower end headphones. All were fine must be my Shure SRH440's.

I spoke to soon. Looks like the static only becomes apparent after the screen on the phone comes on. I plugged my Shure SRH440's this morning and didn't have any static sound until I turned on the screen. I just tried my other headphones/ear buds and now the sound is apparent in all of them. The sound I hear isn't really static its more of a friction sound. I only hear it when rubbing the back of the phone. It sounds like someone walking wearing sweat pants. I can even hear it coming through my Beats Pill when I connect to it with a cable (not Bluetooth).

Glad you got it resolved! How do you like the SQ of the Moto X? I found it better then most Android phones, but slightly below iphone 5 in volume and bass quantity
I have no complaints. I have an iPhone 5 and traded in my Note 2 for this Moto X. The Moto X seems pretty good once you flatten out the EQ.

Since this morning when plugging in my headphones that came with the phone I am getting no sound whatsoever. When I unplug them I get sound as normal. Volume is set just above mid range. I also tried another set of headphones but still no joy. I have never had this issuebbefore today so it's really bugging me.
If anyone can help me I would gladly appreciate it, as I listen to music on the go frequently.
Many thanks

Connected headphones to my tv and headphones work fine.
Getting a very feint sound now from both headphones as opposed to before when there was no sound at all. Still unhappy though.
Is anyone using a heafset blocker that works with the HTC ear plugs. When im jogging on my tredmill my dog will bark at the squirrels outback and it seems every loud noise changes a song. What is a headset blocker and why does your music player change songs when it hears noise?

When i plug in headphones, insted of just the headphone icon at top it shows the headset icon with microphone. By doin that i think it enables voice commands therefor when it hears a noise it changes songs. Headset blocker blocks it from going into headset mode

I know there is an option in Google Now to listen for bluetooth mic, plug your headset in and see if it gives an option for that mic.

I have the same exact problem. Wizdroid doesn't work. I can use the HTC headphones or a pair of BOSE headphones (with microphone) that I have. Regardless, if it hears any kind of external noise, it'll start changing songs, or stopping music or dialing phone numbers. It's really annoying. I can't even put it in my pocket and walk around, it'll start dialing phone numbers. I have to keep it steady and not move the wire around in order for them to work properly.

I think I'm just going to switch mine out since it's still under warranty. I have a lot of other problems with the phone too (camera tint, starting to feel some lag, my boomsound isn't as loud as other htc one's, etc.)
Does anyone know if Sprint stores do warranty exchanges? I really don't want to send my phone in to HTC and wait for them to send it back to me.

From past experience, unless you have the insurance you will need to send it in if its past the first 14 days. I had a problem with the camera on my E4G and the would not range it even thought it was under warranty.

Hi all, I'm looking at getting a motox. I stream music from my phone to my car's stereo and I was wondering does the Motox still listen/respond to you while playing music?
For example, music is streaming on my phone can i say 'OK google now, text David what are you doing'. Will that work?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
Actually yes it does and it suprised me at how it actually recognized what I said
Sent from my XT1060 using xda app-developers app
So even if you have music playing and phone is in a cup holder (or something) it'll will still recognise the 'OK google now command'
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
You underestimate the power of the X. Just kidding. Not joking around, this phone has never not recognized my voice. I've even said OK Google with a baby screaming and it still picked me out. I love this thing.
There is a reason why this phone has not one but three mics. It picks up my voice from another room when I tried to find it "ok google now...... find my phone" and the phone shouts from another room. Super impressed.
That's great thanks guys. I'm just trying to ascertain that if music is playing on the Motox that you can still give it voice commands.

As long as the microphone can here you then it will respond. When I am in the car listening to music with a cable coming from the headphone jack to the aux car input I have to turn the volume down on the stereo before it understands me. If I am listening with headphones on, it perks right up and is listening. I *think* that it is uses the microphone in the headphones if one is available instead of the phone mics.
