So, a couple of days ago my phone stopped vibrating. Guessing it might be a problem with the rom I had at the time (ViperOne_5.5.1) I decided to download the updated version and flash it. Flashing was fine and again, everything worked fine but the vibration. So I thought of installing another rom to see if it was Viper causing the problems so I installed Android Revolution, still nothing.
I've now reverted back to Viper and after hours of research into this and installing several apps that would, supposedely, fix the problem, I gave up and reached the conclusion that it must be a hardware fault. But lo and behold, my phone vibrated twice today. Once this afternoon and again just a couple of minutes ago. I've been texting and receiving calls and emails all day long but these were the only times when it actually vibrated.
So my question is, does anyone have any idea of what's going on with my phone? And if so, is there any some sort of a solution to this?
Hardware. It will eventually completely go. Mine died completely pretty early on

I sent mine in because the usb port on the phone burnt out if you really want it fixed you can send it in for repair

lol everything else is fine with my phone, it's just really annoying that it doesn't vibrate anymore as most of the time, both indoors and outdoors, I'm listening to music and won't actually hear notifications. Do you know if HTC will repair it if it's rooted? I don't actually have a warranty for the phone so I'm not too sure about sending it to a 3rd party repair shop that'll probably overcharge me.

The phone must vibrate when you full restart, if it doesnt, then it's a hardware problem.
I had such a problem, and sent it to repair under warranty.
Yet, i had to get back to full stock.
Good luck!
Mine came back from repair for some other thing, and I noticed right away the vibrate function on my handset is way too much. (Rear module camera was changed, I guess it carried a new vibrate module with it?)
I'm just sending mine for repairs once I'm back from holiday. Really disappointed though, the phone is barely 3 months old.

I just got my Nexus One replacement after my other one's lock button was damaged. I just got my new one today and after I charged it fully, I pressed the power button. It gets to the "X" and then doesn't boot past that.
My phone vibrates once when I boot it, and then after a few seconds it vibrates 4-5 times in a row.
Any ideas how to fix this? I don't want to unlock the bootloader or root it...
Update:
-Got it working
Update 2:
Died again....
This is my second Nexus One within 2 weeks that has had an issue:
1st one = broken lock/power button.
2nd one = won't boot
If it's 7 vibrates it's a hardware problems. Don't even bother, just send it back.

My Nexus One has committed suicide.
nvm, not working AGAIN.
Man bro. Your having bad luck. Mine does it occasionally where I turn it off. And try to turn it on it stays black and vibrates. But I just let it sit without the battery. For like 30 seconds. Then try. Never ran into this problem with my desire or evo. It was just this phone. Which I find weird. But try letting it sit for a lil.

I have VERY bad luck...
Any ideas on a replacement? ($0-350 USD), I've been through 2 N1's, sadly...
I've honestly just let it sit there for 30 seconds. But what are you running? I think the only reason mine does it is because I soldered the charging port. And obviously that hasn't been done to yours. So it shouldn't do that.

When I got the replacement, it wouldn't turn on for a while, but when it did; it was on Android 2.2...
I got it working again a while later to update to 2.3.4.
Then it died again. I've decided to just return it and either get an Xperia Neo V or HTC Inspire.

Looks like the phone has a hardware problem. Maybe it was a refurb from amazon or something bad happened during the shipment?
Either way, return it to amazon for a replacement or get a completely different phone.
Well at least Amazon is nice about it. Since your trading it. The inspire is better then the Neo.

That's reasonable but I'm still thinking the inspire is better then Sony. But that's just me. The inspire has some good roms too.

Hi,
My One died last night, just stopped and the screen went off. No light when charging, no way to revive it by holding down power with vol down etc. It would appear to be an ex-one...
Anyway, I'll need to speak to HTC tomorrow to get it sorted. What is their warranty service like?

Don't give up just yet do a lot of searching on here and you might find a solution.
Unfortunately I didn't and had to leave my phone in for repairs, was sent to HTC in the UK, phone was unlocked and rooted and i was unable to do anything with it but they just sent me a replacement phone no questions asked.

The computer doesn't even recognise anything has been plugged in, so unless it suddenly wakes up - I think it kaput.
How long did the replacement take?
It took me a month because I stupidly sent it back to the phone shop where i bought it who in turn sent it to their repairs place they use it who probably left it lying there for a week or two before deciding they Couldn't repair it and sent it directly to HTC who just replaced it, so send it directly to HTC in whatever country your in, HTC don't really have an official repairs place in Ireland so mine had to be sent to the UK.

I`am super happy with the One running ARHD 12.1 and stock kernel. Ruuning smoothly and fast, good batterylife and great radio reception. Maybe you have a somehow faulty device.
I think he's just trying to stir up trouble, as it would be extremely unlikely for all of these things to happen, no way would his battery be draining that badly, and he keeps mentioning the S4, so just leave him to it

2- in my findings phone A is not more likely to scratch then phone B. Its all based on time, use, situation and pressure. If your Optimus was in the situation the One was in then it would have scratched as well.
3- this is a network issue. Me and a friend with an iPhone were in a low signal room. She has AT&T I have T-Mobile. I started receiving double texts from a friend she didn't. A few minutes later she started receiving them as well from different people. Its a network issue plain and simple. Likewise with your second post I would get a new SIM it sounds like it may be detective.
4- if its really broken (only use the official HTC charger and cord to test) contact seller/HTC for a replacement.
1- being an all metal device the One has higher standards then a plastic device. The 'defects' the One has such as gap are still well below the tolerances used for plastic devices. Even with all that the build quality is still leaps and bounds better than 99% of android devices. I think your feeling is based on your other perceived issues.

First off all
I always had a good signal never problems somehow now he even doesnot wanna connect I putted my SIM card I'm my other phone and it worked so that's number one.
About my usage I'm really secure and look after how I'm using them my optimus black has fallen 3 times really bad but not scratshes with no gorrila glass so thats just weird for me.
About charging I always use the one of htc.
And my battery life is no 4 hours my bad sorry it's 8 but it's still lower than first (ididnot upgrade to 4.2.2)
And first I could minimum 14 hours
At least Idunno if the black one is better build maybe I could change it to that version.
And just about HTC one people Iknow face problems to it's just I don't wanna buy a phone For 550 euros what has this problems it's just not acceptable that's my opinion because idont wanna send my phone back to a service center and wait 3 weeks or a month For a new one or fixed .

My phone has no problems other than having to keep an eye on the battery. I keep screen brightness low and use the power saver and it's fine. The phone is fast and works great. It really sounds like you have a defective unit that you should exchange for another. Best of luck.

I guess if it fails the button press, then it's most likely a hardware fault, and not much you can do to fix it
It should still be under warranty so will take it back next week hopefully they can fix it but dreading handing it over incase it comes back in worse shape then when it went.

If anyone reads this from the UK what's the best way to send phone off for warranty repair through shop where i got it from phones4u or HTC UK or HTC international need some advice before it goes on it's journey for repair. Also time frames of how long it normally takes would be nice. Iam hoping they tell me to send it somewhere locally for repair but doubt it very much, had a Nokia years ago wich went to a local place for repair but don't think they do that now.

Hey all,
I recently (2 months ago) got a brand new HTC One. It's been great so far, love it.
Only issue I have is last week it started going to Speakerphone mode when making calls and receiving them. All I have to do is turn off the speakerphone to get it back to earpiece but it's slightly annoying.
I've tried resetting the device to no avail.
I'm running on the Rogers network in Canada running Kit Kat.
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks!

The weird thing is that i have been on 4.4.2 for a while now via ViperOne and this issue has just recently popped up (or so it seems to me). So not sure if this is related to sense based rom running 4.4.2. or something different.
Well I do feel slightly better that I'm not the only one. But also wished I wasn't part of this so special group. Ha!
After a little googling people seem to think it might have something wrong with the docking mechanism.

Mentioning the dock makes me wonder if those who've looked thru the call settings have looked thru the dock settings to see if there is an option there to open with speaker phone on? Or in the headphone or bluetooth settings. My feeling for looking in these places is that if for some reason the device thinks it's connected to one of these devices that could be changing it's behavior? Anyway, I don't think I'm having this issue but I rarely get calls and usually when I do I use speaker phone, but I'm also pretty sure that I'm having to turn it on also.

So i guess this is a general sense 4.4.2 issue then and not custom rom, kernel, other specific. Strange that it seems to only start after a random amount of time as i deffinately did not have this issue for quite some time after upgrading to 4.4.2 based rom.
