Hi,
My One died last night, just stopped and the screen went off. No light when charging, no way to revive it by holding down power with vol down etc. It would appear to be an ex-one...
Anyway, I'll need to speak to HTC tomorrow to get it sorted. What is their warranty service like?

Have you plugged it into your pc and tried booting ?
I had exactly the same last week..flashing a new rom and all went pear shaped...I tried for half an hour to get into recovery...same as you totally dead , I plugged it unto the usb of my netbook and tried and I got into recovery straight away..reflashed and all is good in the world...
Don't give up just yet do a lot of searching on here and you might find a solution.
Unfortunately I didn't and had to leave my phone in for repairs, was sent to HTC in the UK, phone was unlocked and rooted and i was unable to do anything with it but they just sent me a replacement phone no questions asked.

The computer doesn't even recognise anything has been plugged in, so unless it suddenly wakes up - I think it kaput.
How long did the replacement take?
It took me a month because I stupidly sent it back to the phone shop where i bought it who in turn sent it to their repairs place they use it who probably left it lying there for a week or two before deciding they Couldn't repair it and sent it directly to HTC who just replaced it, so send it directly to HTC in whatever country your in, HTC don't really have an official repairs place in Ireland so mine had to be sent to the UK.

I just got my Nexus One replacement after my other one's lock button was damaged. I just got my new one today and after I charged it fully, I pressed the power button. It gets to the "X" and then doesn't boot past that.
My phone vibrates once when I boot it, and then after a few seconds it vibrates 4-5 times in a row.
Any ideas how to fix this? I don't want to unlock the bootloader or root it...
Update:
-Got it working
Update 2:
Died again....
This is my second Nexus One within 2 weeks that has had an issue:
1st one = broken lock/power button.
2nd one = won't boot
If it's 7 vibrates it's a hardware problems. Don't even bother, just send it back.

My Nexus One has committed suicide.
nvm, not working AGAIN.
Man bro. Your having bad luck. Mine does it occasionally where I turn it off. And try to turn it on it stays black and vibrates. But I just let it sit without the battery. For like 30 seconds. Then try. Never ran into this problem with my desire or evo. It was just this phone. Which I find weird. But try letting it sit for a lil.

I let it sit for 2+ hours and then I turned it on. It worked for 2-5 minutes and then turned back off and got stuck at the "X"....
I have VERY bad luck...
Any ideas on a replacement? ($0-350 USD), I've been through 2 N1's, sadly...
I've honestly just let it sit there for 30 seconds. But what are you running? I think the only reason mine does it is because I soldered the charging port. And obviously that hasn't been done to yours. So it shouldn't do that.

When I got the replacement, it wouldn't turn on for a while, but when it did; it was on Android 2.2...
I got it working again a while later to update to 2.3.4.
Then it died again. I've decided to just return it and either get an Xperia Neo V or HTC Inspire.

Looks like the phone has a hardware problem. Maybe it was a refurb from amazon or something bad happened during the shipment?
Either way, return it to amazon for a replacement or get a completely different phone.
Well at least Amazon is nice about it. Since your trading it. The inspire is better then the Neo.

What about the Xperia Arc S? I was going to buy it from my friend for $350USD... good deal?
That's reasonable but I'm still thinking the inspire is better then Sony. But that's just me. The inspire has some good roms too.

Sony told me they also can go by manufacturer date. And since the phone isn't even a year on the market yet and Sony offers 2 years warranty u should be able to sent it in for repair. At least in Germany it is like that.

Were you updated? If you were still on .350, maybe it SOD'd
Btw, why would you buy the phone W/O Warranty?
Sony offers 2 years warranty, so whereever you bought it - hustled you and hustled you good.
I got it as a present and I must have thrown the receipt for it but no biggie since I am already in Sonys system and still have a year and 10 months warranty in it even without the receipt because they go by the date of manufacturing. What makes sense because u can see when it was made and if it isn't over Sonys warranty then that isn't an issue.

Does anyone have their screen slightly lifted from one side? It's like the adhesive is missing resulting in the screen lifting just from that part bending the glass abit. I just noticed after my hand sliding off the screen I can feel that it's been lifted. Will this be considered a manufacturer defect allowing me to swap the phone for free? Also how exactly does this work? Do I just show up with the phone and they swap the phone or do I have to take everything such as the box? I already took precautions and locked the bootload and ruu

It's not raise a lot but it's best to fix things early before they get worse. It's to the point where if u push on it u can feel the screen sink abit. I also got that red noise issue
Give them a call ..hopefully you'll get a good rep that will leave notes on your account for repair or replace at your local pub (sprint ) ....haha yeah ..what's this red noise issue ?

So I just went in and they said they refused to help me because my phone was purchased through best buy. I guess I have to send it to HTC and see if they will fix it since I've unlocked although I wouldn't see y that would be an issue. Also tried bestbuy and they were no help since I was past the 15 days and I had no issurance. Time to see how it works with HTC

as long as the device is active on your account, sprint should help you.. Sounds like you got a bad store/employee

If you are within 14 days of original purchase, you are entitled to have your defective phone replaced with a NEW phone. If that is the case, that may be why they are "refusing" to help you, just poorly explained. However, if you are outside of that 14 day window, any Sprint corporate service center or ASC (authorized service center) should be able to help you with your issue, although some techs who are on a limited exchange budget may argue that your issue does not affect device functionality and therefore not qualify for an exchange. Not necessarily my opinion, just throwing that out there as a possibility.
As far as coverage and costs if you are outside of 14 day window:
If you have Best Buy insurance, go through Best Buy for a free replacement.
If you have TEP/ESRP, go through any Sprint service and repair location for a free replacement.
If you only have the manufacturer warranty, you can go through HTC for free replacement (could take up to two weeks and you might have to pay for shipping) or go through Sprint for a fee.
It's a known issue. People were posting about the raised screen when the phone first came out. Like someone said, try a different tech/store. I have argued till I was blue in the face over the phone about stuff, hung up got a different employee and had the next one give me zero problems.

After having my HTC One for 2 weeks I encountered a problem with charging my phone. So arranged a HTC repair. Packaged the phone with ALOT of bubblewrap and boxes. Phone took quite awhile to be repaired and sent back (15 days). After receiving phone back I noticed the HTC repair centre had damaged my phone had scratches and dings around camera speaker grilles and Usb port area. Plus my Bluetooth has not worked properly since disconnects from connected devices, won't auto connect or if I try manual connect my phone crashes. I have pushed so hard for a resolution to this but they are useless and after a month they have send they will repair my phone but really I expected a lot more apologies and new phone. What other great experiences have people had? Thanks
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I don't have much to add but what charging problem did you encounter? Also why didn't you just return the phone were you purchased it? Most stores give you 30 days to return the phone if you have any issues. And my last question is exactly what does the title of this thread intends to say?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
From my experience and most I've heard the title is obvious for that. I bought the phone brand new 2nd hand so was not in my name etc. And Usb port was faulty and would take ages to charge would put phone on charge at night wake up in morning and it would reach about 80% max

So, a couple of days ago my phone stopped vibrating. Guessing it might be a problem with the rom I had at the time (ViperOne_5.5.1) I decided to download the updated version and flash it. Flashing was fine and again, everything worked fine but the vibration. So I thought of installing another rom to see if it was Viper causing the problems so I installed Android Revolution, still nothing.
I've now reverted back to Viper and after hours of research into this and installing several apps that would, supposedely, fix the problem, I gave up and reached the conclusion that it must be a hardware fault. But lo and behold, my phone vibrated twice today. Once this afternoon and again just a couple of minutes ago. I've been texting and receiving calls and emails all day long but these were the only times when it actually vibrated.
So my question is, does anyone have any idea of what's going on with my phone? And if so, is there any some sort of a solution to this?

lol everything else is fine with my phone, it's just really annoying that it doesn't vibrate anymore as most of the time, both indoors and outdoors, I'm listening to music and won't actually hear notifications. Do you know if HTC will repair it if it's rooted? I don't actually have a warranty for the phone so I'm not too sure about sending it to a 3rd party repair shop that'll probably overcharge me.

The phone must vibrate when you full restart, if it doesnt, then it's a hardware problem.
I had such a problem, and sent it to repair under warranty.
Yet, i had to get back to full stock.
Good luck!
Mine came back from repair for some other thing, and I noticed right away the vibrate function on my handset is way too much. (Rear module camera was changed, I guess it carried a new vibrate module with it?)
I'm just sending mine for repairs once I'm back from holiday. Really disappointed though, the phone is barely 3 months old.
