Hi everyone,
I have a Beklin Share N300 router and trying to set up my chromecast on this network.
Everything works fine, i mean the set up process; chromecast can see the network, can connect the network without any problem but get this message on the screen:
ChromecastXXX connected to yournetwork, but cant access the internet.
Has anyone faced this problem before?
I appreciate for your comments

Im been having the same problem since yesterday morning. Ive been in contact with Google and they escalted my case but i havent heard back from them about it.
I had the same problem with my E4200v2 router. I just kept trying and trying from the chromecast app on my Samsung Galaxy S4 and after an hour it finally setup. Have patience and keep trying everything. Reference your router's manual for additional information you might need. Good luck!

Try rebooting the router.

did you try putting the CC in the DMZ?
I don't have the CC yet, so I don't know if it needs any ports open in your firewall. Is there any way to manually enter a private IP or DNS info?
From what you're describing, the Chromecast isn't getting the DNS information.

DMZ could be the solution. Try disabling AP isolation under your router's setup UI.

The AP (access point) he probably doesn't have setup anyway since that's more for bridging.
I just don't know if CC needs any ports forwarded. He may want to see what IP is being assigned to his CC and then check the firewall logs to see if any traffic is being blocked by it. The DMZ on his router should place the CC in front of the router and thus let all traffic to and from it, which should, in theory, fix the DNS problem.
It maybe to worth a shot to port foward port 53, which is usually used for DNS. I don't remember if it was UDP or TCP or both. And sometimes you still need to port forward even when using the DMZ. It's lame, but router's just act funny sometimes.
====================
it just dawned on me, it might be that CC is getting it's internet access from the device that's getting the content. So, you may need to enable internet sharing on your PC. Although, I don't think this is the case.
I also was getting the "connected to wireless, but can't access the internet" What I determined is that the ChromeCast is NOT using the DNS servers provided by my DHCP server, it was trying to communicate to a different DNS (likely Google's own).
In my case, I had a firewall in place that prevented access to any DNS other than what I was providing in DHCP. Once I opened the restriction and allowed all DNS traffic, chromecast immediately connected.
Hope this helps someone else.

Interesting. In my case, it was the opposite. I had my laptop configured to use Google's DNS servers and I kept on getting the same "connected to wireless, but can't access the internet" message. I reset the DNS servers on my laptop and Chromecast immediately connected to the Internet.
anyone know which port/s does chromecast use
DMZ worked for me but i dont like putting devices on DMZ. Sounds like this is just a port forwarding issue and putting it on DMZ is an overkill.
Anyone knows which port/s does chromecast use???
I also have the Belkin N300 and was having the same trouble. What i did was a factory reset on my router and a firmware update in the router settings and now everything seems to be working fine as of now.
AP Isolation
Switching off AP Isolation fixed the issue for me. I had the same issue before I did this.

I tried this too, even porting, but no luck..
tried every single suggestion but cant figure out what is wrong.
What i understand from the replies; it needs some specific DNS. But when i change my DNS on my routers setting page different than provided my ISP, router itself doesnt connect to internet.
DMZ, MAC filtering, disabling Firewall, disabling AP, none of them work so far; with numerous combination of those...
I believe it shouldnt be that hard.. ?
Update: Placing it in DMZ took a couple of retries but have fixed the issue now.
Similar problem. Worked on the first setup. Then after two day a get "can't connect to internet" message. Tried factory resetting and putting in the DMZ. Nothing helps. Anyone?

I don't really have more suggestions. From what I know, the CC doesn't need any special DNS information because really all the CC is just a media player (although not exactly correct). When you cast something to it, the device (mobile device or PC) you're sending it a URL, which it then opens and can play. This is why it needs an internet connection. Tab casting is a little different. Thus, if it'll play on your mobile device or PC, you can play it on the CC (assuming the content is CC compatible). If there is not internet to the CC, then the DNS and ISP information is not being forwarded to the CC or it's not connecting to them; this assumes it's getting an private IP from the router and not being denied because of MAC filtering or something.
Over here I've got another problem. My current ISP forces me to use their DNS. Since the Chromecast has its own fixed Google DNS (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4), the Chromecast is not allowed to connect to the internet.

Same here, I'm on a studentnet that uses a PPTP connection with their own DNS, so if I change the DNS I won''t have an internet connection, permanent. Not sure how to fix that.

I had the same issue with the original firmware (12072).
After leaving it connected a few days it eventually stayed connected long enough to download an update.
After restarting it, it applied the update.
On firmware 13300 it complains when it initially boots, then after about a minute or two it connects successfully.
So...
If you're rooted, use FlashCast to update to PwnedCast 1.0 (based on 13300)
If you're not root-capable or have no plans to root, set it up and leave it at the "but can't connect to the Internet" for a few days (just leave it powered by the power adapter), then power-cycle it, hopefully you will see it updating.
I'm trying to connect my chrome cast to my wireless AP. I get the error message "We weren't able to discover your Chromecast on the network"
I've read that AP isolation is the problem, but I'm pretty sure that isn't enabled. And if it is, I have no way of disabling it.
I have a dlink DGL-4500 and a DAP-1360 running in parallel. Same ssid, same password, same channel. It's a seamless transition from one to the other when I walk from one to the other. I can even stream video with no problems.
Chromecast won't connect to my AP. I don't have wlan partition enabled. I don't have igmp snooping enabled.
I do have wmm enabled.

Have you tried turning one of them off to verify? Also are you running on 2.4, 5 ghz or dualband? I'm using cisco/linksys setup with a repeater (regular router on ddwrt) but they all have different ssids(3 total) and I know it works between them except obviously the chromecast won't connect to the 5ghz one.

I only use 2.4GHz. the DGL-4500 is either/or.
I've turned off the wireless on the AP, but the range of the router is too far away to connect.
I tried it directly on the DGL-4500 and it worked the first time. Then half-way through a movie, my phone refused to find the chromecast device again. I had to do a hard reset.
I can find no setting for AP isolation on the DGL-4500. Does anyone else have this router and having it working with an AP?

Make sure WLAN partition is off.
My settings finally were 20MHz single channel, WPA2 PSK, Mixed BGN.
My network is hybrid. I've got the DGL-4500 as the main router. I've got another Linksys WRT120Nish as an AP (which the chromecast is actually connected to at the moment and I've got the DAP-1360 setup in repeater mode in the middle.
I got a Chromecast yesterday. Still not able to connect. I am running setup on my Nook HD+ running CM10.1. I can't run setup on my laptop because it's wired and wifi is dead. Setup sees my Chromecast and I get "Now let's connect Chromecast2460 to your wireless network". I press setup and it searches. The 4 character code appears on the TV, then I get the error "Could not connect to your Chromecast".
Here are my router settings based on suggestions I've read.
Netgear WNDR3700v3
UPNP disabled

IGMP disabled

Mine only started working once I'd turned AP Isolation off on my Netgear router. Then the install worked, network set up wise.
I do have a problem with my Toshiba 37X3030D TV - whatever I try to cast, I get a static blue screen. But that's another story!

After trying many things and wasting much time, I tried my Linux laptop and it WORKED! The Chromium page suggested I use a different device and I had to change wifi access manually to and from the Chromecast device. I'm sure my Windows laptop would have worked, Damn Toshiba. Hi All
Got my chromecast to connect to the router, it even says "ready to cast".
However, on the TV screen it says: Chromecast connected to wifi but cannot access internet.
My router is a TP-LINK N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router, Model No. TL-WDR3600
Firmware Version: 3.13.31 Build 130320 Rel.55761n
Hardware Version: WDR3600 v1 00000000
For Wifi the settings are:
Wireless 2.4GHz
Wireless Radio: Enable
Name (SSID): Internet5A_2.4GHz
Mode: 11bgn mixed
Channel: Auto (Current channel 1)
Channel Width: Automatic
WDS Status: Disable
I connect to internet using PPPoE
Router is right behind the TV, where the chromecast is.
AP Isolation is disabled
Any kind of help is greatly appreciated!
I have already gone through troubleshooting, restarting router / chormecast, factory defaults for router / chromecast..etc
Called Google, they had me to it all over again, still the same thing.

Well first question...Can you stream Media to it? If your using aVia you shouldn't need internet.
Check Router settings make sure you don't have something like Mac Filtering on (although I would think it would not connect at all if that was the case)
Also check to see if you have Internet Access limited for any Mac Addresses.
Make sure UPnP is enabled on the router.
I looked at the router compat chart and all of the TP-Link routers appear to be compatible so if it is therouter it will be some setting you changed from the default.
Also check to see if there is a firmware upgrade for your router.
I should point out though that Google is notorious for lying about Internet access and in many cases use a successful connect to Google Services as the indicator. If thats the case here then it may very well have Internet access but couldn't connect to Google!
We know Google thinks it is the internet but it isn't the entire internet! LOL
Almost forgot...If your router connect via PPPOE make sure to set it to not expire and stay always on.
If you have it set to connect when needed then the CCast may get a No Net access response while the router is connecting.
Can't stream media to it. Tried it with Avia, (chromecast inapp purchased).
Mac filtering not enabled
UPnP is enabled
There is a firmware update that I will try later today and reply with the results.
Thanks for your support!

Definitely check your PPPOE Settings to make sure it is always on...
If not then you aren't always connected to the Internet and CCast may only check status on initial connection.
Inability to cast at all says to me that something else in your router config is amiss but It's possible that since it can't get to the Net that it can't retrieve the Whitelist which would prevent casting from anything.
Tried all of the above. Still no joy. Updated firmware to latest, etc..

Does not show it as in... the router still shows the option as disabled, or something else?
Pretty much all the option types that Google mentions for the various routers in their router known issues page, it's worth trying on and off, if your router supports it, and only if you are having trouble. It's more combinations, but worth a shot.
Otherwise, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Thank you all for your help!
I disabled parental control (on ISP side), and it worked!
Sorry for all the trouble!
Thanks for your help. For me it was pppoe set to Connect auto, changed to manual 0 - never disconnect works like a charm. (TP-LINK W9960)

So Chromecast is giving the "Connected to __(your network)__ but connect reach the Internet" message?
Check whether there are any MAC restrictions or parental controls enabled. The best test is to assign a DHCP address to a computer, test its Internet connectivity, then change the computer's address (or switch to automatic) and set the same address to Chromecast, then reboot router and Chromecast (so it gets the new address). That should rule out any IP-based restrictions or filters.

Yes, that is the error I am getting on my TV screen.
The wireless MAC filter is disabled and parental control and DNS filtering are off as well.
How do I set an IP address on the CC?
Update: Looking through my router logs and heres what I found. The CC is getting an IP address automatically from DHCP. Shows up as an active connection under wireless clients. Now active connections is where it gets interesting. My CC keeps trying to reach 173.194.115.33:443 which is a Google IP address but it cant. It either states TIME_WAIT or UNREPLIED . Now I am able to ping that IP with no problems from other devices on my network.
