Guys, I downloaded Criskelo's 4.3 ROM a while ago, and now I want to go back to original Sonys's 4.4, because I want to have the TV app again (Brazil's Z1 comes with TV), how can I do it? Is C6943 the model I need to download the ROM?

Yeap...
Just download that firmware and flash it via flashtool.
You can exclude app wipes and try to preserve data but I would recommend to wipe app and flash clean and fresh 4.4.

I remember I had to flash the kernel separately, do I need to do this now? And what should I tick in the flashtool? What mode should I use?

No you don't have to flash the kernel separately as the firmware already replaces the kernel. using flash mode, i just leave it default as i want a clean install(wipe cache, applog, data)

As @gm007 said, it is advisable that you do a repair using SUS before doing anything else.
After that, if you're still on an older firmware (going by your signature) download any full .253 ftf (Find it here) and flash it in flash tool.
Ensure that you wipe everything when flashing.
Once you've updated to .253, root it & install 2.4 release dual recovery.
Then follow the instructions from here to update to .423.
If the instructions are unclear, just ask, I'll elaborate on whatever you didn't understand.

I think the problem is not the rom cause now i am on 4.2.2 leaked but this happened on others updates official
@kgs1992
Not to argue with you, as you seem like a helpful person, but why advise to update to 253 first, when they could just jump straight to 423 and root it with Doomlord's tool if they require root?

I'm not sure if there is a full ftf for update to .423, that's all.
And @[NUT] had advised an update from .253 or .307, but it seems the guide now says that you can also update from .350 or .434
I'm limited by my own knowledge, sorry.

There are quite a few 423 ftf available in the general section.
I used this version - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2336874
There are a few more for different regions/customisations posted in that section

OP is on neither of those firmware versions, but yes, using a full FTF for .423 there shouldn't be any problems coming from .407. The only potential problem could be if the ROM you're coming from contains a different NFC firmware and the destination ROM doesn't flash a compatible version. But since .423 does do this there shouldn't be any problems in this case
So i should install .423 via flashtool?

I'm not sure how the FlashTool process works. Does it wipe the data partition? If so there might be an option to not wipe it, I don't know. But if your device is rooted you can just back everything up with Titanium Backup (make sure to backup to external SD card) and restore the data for those crucial apps afterwards.

Part 6 shows you how to keep data.

I think that the easiest would be to reflash the rom (ftf) via flashtool while excluding the data wipe options. This way you will get the update center back to its normal function.
Here you go.
A lot easier than downloading a whole FTF for a 1 MB apk

and flashing the ftf excluding system give various apps ( bloatware ) back, but not the update centre.
i have and original APK and the odex file, copied to system apps, set permisons and nothing.

Thanks!!!!!

Hello, I understand kind of how to do it but I need clarification.
Ok so my current fw is the latest. 757 firmware. But how do I go about rooting.
Should i downgrade from my kitkat to. 584 and then root and then upgrade directly to NUTS already rooted. 757 fw
Or am I safe to not downgrade and just flash nuts rooted fw straight off?
Sorry if this is noobish but im new to this.
Any help greatly appreciated

1) flash a FTF ending in 534 (Find the files and instructions int he mega collection thread in the general section)
2) Install Dual Recovery (Find the files in the dual recovery thread in the cross device development section)
3) Install the 757 pre rooted ROM of your choice (Find the files and instructions in the development section)
PS
Down on my average, only 3 times today...
I just did this yesterday successfully.
Downgraded to .534 using NUT's C6903_14.1.G.1.534_NUT.ftf
Rooted using binary method via PC
Installed XZDualRecovery 2.7.115 BETA via PC
Wiped Dalvik cache, System, Cache, Data, Internal Storage
Factory reset
Flashed NUT's C6903_14.3.A.0.757.flashable.zip
Shutdown the phone
Flashed NUT's C6903_14.3.A.0.757_Stripped.ftf
Restart phone
If you want to see a video on how its done check out shem's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aq9YTlfCgc&feature=youtu.be
Hope it helps.

Rooted using binary method via PC => <= useless, XZDualrecorvery root the phone <= It's your opinion, I prefer use Bin4ry method first.
Installed XZDualRecovery 2.7.115 BETA via PC

Flashing a stock 534fw wont make you loose your IMEI, i've downgraded a ton of time and never had this issue.
If you prefer the binary method for rooting i'm ok with that, but still kinda useless because you need the XZDualRecovery and it will root the phone if necessary.
For the clean installation that's useless, you already flashed a full 534fw, that have already removed all that needed to be.
Better be sure.
Ok I have solved this.
I flashed. 534 fw, installed recovery then upgraded to nuts pre-rooted. 757 fw,
I didnt bother rooting the. 534 fw as upgrading to nuts did it for me.
Thanks everyone

Wow, someone has followed the 3 steps I keep posting.
Hi, I have the C6903 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 and I would like to get to the newest stock rom 4.4.4. I would be very glad and thankful if anybody had the time to give me a step by step as I have completely forgotten how to do everything (long time ago I rooted the Z1) Give me a step by step in how to remove my root and wipe everything on the phone so it's factory reset and newest version.
Thanks!
Just update using pccompanion, or flash a 4.4.4 ftf using flashtool, then root it using newroot. Follow my signature links for help

The apps will remain if you use Pccompanion but you will loose root. However if you use flashtool there is an option to wipe everything, so you can choose if want to leave the apps or remove them.
The best way is by using "SEUS"...Cleanest and best method ever existed...
It wipes out everything!

Yes. You'll lose it since you have to wipe the caches and the user data.
But be sure you're using the latest CWM recovery available for your device if you're trying to flash CM11 (android 4.4) or you may not be able to flash it... Or something worse.
If you wanna save your data, backup with Titanium Backup (look for it on the Store)
