[Q] HTC One M7 vibration intensity - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I recently rooted my HTC One M7 for the first time with ViperOne 6.2.1, so I'm still pretty new to rooting terms and processes. One of the main reasons I rooted was to modify the vibration intensity of my phone. It is far too strong at the moment and unable to be changed without root. I think I've found a solution, but it requires the faux kernel. I'm a little confused on the difference between ROMs and kernels, but is it possible to keep ViperOne and still use the faux kernel to modify vibration? Or is there another way I can turn down the vibration intensity a few notches? Any replies are much appreciated!

You should be able to use the faux kernel with ViperOne, i don't know if they are 100% compatible, but you will need to be S-off to flash the kernel.

Are you talking about this one? If so, I don't think it'll work because the mount points are different.
EDIT: Also, it says specifically in the thread that it doesn't support Sprint.. @jbart12

I don't know how I didn't see that, but glad you caught it before I tried. There has to be a way for Sprint users to lower vibration intensity though...

Reading through the thread, apparently faux was testing the Sprint kernel.. and that was the last mention of Sprint in the kernel thread. Will try searching some more.

You might be on to something, but for some reason the app won't let me passed this screen to create a custom vibrate style. I'm continuing to look for the answer but little luck here

I am at work and cant install anything on my work machine. Can someone who is still running the stock rom on the ATT Vivid (doesnt matter if its rooted) make a copy of it and upload it please?
I remember seeing some references to throttling in it and wanted to look in to a few things... just bored at work
This should getcha what you need.

The stock build.prop is so sloppy, I can't believe htc allowed that to pass

Hey PG, did you notice this one line in the original:
Code:
ro.ril.multirab.throttling=1
... i cant seem to find any info on it, know anything about it? Wondering if someone could disable their throttling by editing this setting.. Im not currently throttled or running the stock rom so i have no way to test it.

yeah, i noticed that when building RumRaider. im not on stock nor do i get throttled, so i have no way of testing this if you were to set it to 0 or just comment it out
hmmm....interesting. read page 18

not much else out there. multi-rab seems pretty common, but i cant find anything pertaining to that line in build.prop

Dude! I know it is the latest one cause I've been searching about it for a whole day. but, what is the benefit of it. I mean I know what is Rom, Kernel, etc. I just still don't know what an hboot really represents! Can you tell me a short guide?:good:

Its basically just compatibility
Many roms need blackrose to flash, (dont ask why)
Its better to have latest to be on the safe side.

Not really full of details but thanks anyway. At least I know the basic thing about hboot.

i checked out his thread but i only found someone mentioning the static noise but no responses his post about it that i found.
also its only on the callers end and only happens for a couple seconds instantly after i answer the call then its gone.
EDIT: so it seems it is a kernel issue.. i dirty flashed viper to get the original kernel back and now the static is no longer there at all. so thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I honestly don't want to be rude, but you really have to do your own research. You're asking questions, that you can find all your answers for in the forum sections or by simply google them. I personally really don't recommend you flashing any custom rom or do anything to your phone until all the basics are clear enough to you to start off. Once you have some ideas what flashing, custom roms, custom kernels... etc are it will be a very simple and SAFE process to move on! Good luck!

New Nexus 6 with Volume Issue

Hello, i just got myself a Nexus 6 and I noticed an issue .that's the volume get lower when listening to music. I did some googling and found out it's a common issue. I want to know whether there's a fix to that or flashing a custom ROM would help. Thank you.

It's a set and forget app.
There are sliders for the several sound channels. And the incall volume can be set.

I just read through that post. Am on android 7.0 . Is the method of unlocking the bootloader different? I want to unlock it, install TWRP and flash the kernel and the throttling zip to try my luck. Thanks

I've been running Nitro rom with the dosage throttle zip along with removing battery optimization for Google play music and YouTube. No sound issues whatsoever. Been sound issue free for months now
