Static noise when answering - Sprint HTC One (M8)

hello im not sure if anyone posted this issue but i couldnt find any threads that r about this for sprint... when someone calls my phone they get a anooying static sound immediately when i answer the call but it only lasts for a couple seconds then its normal. no idea what this is about but would love to find out the cause so if it has something to do with my device i can get it replaced if need be.
my device= sprint HTC ONE M8 H/k edition, unlocked, s-offed, rooted, running ViperOneM8 latest version, latest firmware
any suggestions to what is causing this would be great thanks

Might want to check his thread in development. There was some discussion of this issue recently.

i checked out his thread but i only found someone mentioning the static noise but no responses his post about it that i found.
also its only on the callers end and only happens for a couple seconds instantly after i answer the call then its gone.
EDIT: so it seems it is a kernel issue.. i dirty flashed viper to get the original kernel back and now the static is no longer there at all. so thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I saw it, was confused at the part where it said went back to original, did tjey mean they are using this new v3 or ate theyt reffering to something they did to fix the ROM. I can downgrade but I would love to stay on v3. Ive removed every account from the sync section and the problem persists, should I remove the HTC weather app?

You probably need to address that question to @blafree64 or follow-up in the original thread to get the full scope on that, although I think v2 with his GPS fix did not suffer the problem.
Personally, I like the AOSP look & function (or as near as possible) so have stayed away from Sense, other than to load it just to feel the experience of it.
Goodluck, --Larry
V3 has sync problems I went back to v2 not sure if WiFi fix will stay
Sent from my HTC first using xda app-developers app
Ok makes sense

I can't post in the original thread until I get 10 posts which is why I'm in this silly section when I should be in the main thread I agree. So the current ROM people are using is v2 due to the sync issues? Then after installing v2 I flash the GPS Fix in recovery to make v2 more usable until an update for v3 comes out?
Just making sure I'm clear on everything, also if anyone knows when an update might come about that would be awesome news too
Thanks,

That sounds right, based on what I read, but again I don't use it. I had no issues with my v2 test flash, but never tried GPS.
You could drop a PM to JMZ. I've only done that dealing with the Hotspot issue, but he seems to be nice & exceptionally knowledgeable with many platforms.

Back on v2, no issues that I can tell. I'm assuming the GPS is broken as to what I've read, tried to flash the GPS fix only to realize the one I downloaded was a broken zip file, any idea where the correct GPS file is?

[Q] HTC One M7 vibration intensity

I recently rooted my HTC One M7 for the first time with ViperOne 6.2.1, so I'm still pretty new to rooting terms and processes. One of the main reasons I rooted was to modify the vibration intensity of my phone. It is far too strong at the moment and unable to be changed without root. I think I've found a solution, but it requires the faux kernel. I'm a little confused on the difference between ROMs and kernels, but is it possible to keep ViperOne and still use the faux kernel to modify vibration? Or is there another way I can turn down the vibration intensity a few notches? Any replies are much appreciated!

You should be able to use the faux kernel with ViperOne, i don't know if they are 100% compatible, but you will need to be S-off to flash the kernel.

Are you talking about this one? If so, I don't think it'll work because the mount points are different.
EDIT: Also, it says specifically in the thread that it doesn't support Sprint.. @jbart12

I don't know how I didn't see that, but glad you caught it before I tried. There has to be a way for Sprint users to lower vibration intensity though...

Reading through the thread, apparently faux was testing the Sprint kernel.. and that was the last mention of Sprint in the kernel thread. Will try searching some more.

You might be on to something, but for some reason the app won't let me passed this screen to create a custom vibrate style. I'm continuing to look for the answer but little luck here

[Q] tadif: failed to connect to tad

At each boot it's the first entry in my logcat and it's an error.
Anyone knows what it means ?
Googling it I can found some posted logcat with this error but no explanation.
Thx.
[edit] message located in libta.so
so I imagine it's related to the Trim Area partition ?
Mine is here as I have a LBL.
Is it ok if you post the logcat here thanks

Are you using cyanogenmod? That error if my Memory serves me well is a bug for cm roms. I guess it has smtgh to do with the kernel or gsm networking

No, I'm running a 207 stock firmware that may be too much debloated. Or it's because it's a carrier firmware and I made a mistake deleting this carrier related stuff.
I'm facing a random (rare) baseband unknown after a reboot. When it occurs I reboot one more time and it's back.
It's the reason I'm trying to understand the error messages in dmesg and logcat. Nothing obvious written in there....
The answer to all your problems has already been posted in one of your previous threads...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/help/random-baseband-unknown-t2853930
If you debloat without knowing what you're doing, you'll eventually come across issues...

Yeah, I was just trying to locate the problem. I just gave up and flashed 207_AU generic.
Will see if an unknown baseband appears later, for now no.
Thank you guys for your help.
Well, on an other xperia sp which is pure stock 205 with only root and recoveries, there is the same first entry in locat ...
so it's a common error on stock or it's related to root or recoveries install.

[Q] CM11 nightly on int'l S4 Active - Speaker MIC not working

Hello,
I'd wish I could post this post in [ROM][Official Nightly][Android 4.4] CyanogenMod 11.0 for SGS4A (int'l) but I can't because of the noob posting limitation.
Anyhow, running CM11 nightly on my S4 Active I noticed when I switch to speaker mode during a call, MIC is not working and the other side cannot hear me one bit.
Anyone familiar with this one?
Thanks,
It has been reported in the named thread. Don't know the exact answer. As a friendly advice You can try forum/thread search before asking. It is a un-noobish thing to do.

New Nexus 6 with Volume Issue

Hello, i just got myself a Nexus 6 and I noticed an issue .that's the volume get lower when listening to music. I did some googling and found out it's a common issue. I want to know whether there's a fix to that or flashing a custom ROM would help. Thank you.

It's a set and forget app.
There are sliders for the several sound channels. And the incall volume can be set.

I just read through that post. Am on android 7.0 . Is the method of unlocking the bootloader different? I want to unlock it, install TWRP and flash the kernel and the throttling zip to try my luck. Thanks

I've been running Nitro rom with the dosage throttle zip along with removing battery optimization for Google play music and YouTube. No sound issues whatsoever. Been sound issue free for months now
