The updates are released by the carriers with the exception of Dev Ed and Google Play Ed which are released by HTC. The updates are for a specific CID, MID and OS version. You can search this forum or a forum for your specific phone like Sprint, T-Mobile etc to see if there is really an update for your phone.

What phone service are you using? T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange, Bell, Telus, etc. You can go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information then ROM Version or Software number then post what is under those items. It should be in this format x.xx.XXX.x the large X reveal who is the provider/carrier.

Your carrier is Orange ES, and I can not find any mention of an update for your phone. Your phone is completely stock, no custom recovery or rom?

You have two options, one to wait for an update with Orange Spain or rebrand your phone to the International WWE (.401) and receive the updates quicker. Here is a post that outlines the steps in the process. The CID would be HTC__001 (WWE) or HTC__304 (Spain). 001 will get the updates faster.

Reboot your computer, on the phone check in Settings -> Developer Options that USB debugging is checked. If so, then connect the phone to the computer. Now try the commands again type them exactly without the important comment.
If you don't have a Developer Options, then follow these steps: Settings -> About -> Software Information -> More -> press Build number seven (7) times. A pop up window will tell you when you have enabled the Developer Options.

Try re-installing the HTC Drivers, just don't install HTC Sync Mgr. Then see if you can get ADB Commands to recognize your phone. If so, they try the S-OFF with the HTC Drivers installed.

I only ever got the offline message when I was using older adb versions

[Q] OTA delay

Hi.
I've come to notice that every time an OTA update is available I'm the last one to get it. In December when Sense 3.0 update came out I only got it about 2 months after the official update announcement. And now it looks like it's happening again with the ICS update.
Anyhow I bought my phone second hand, and how can I now to which region it belongs? Is there a way to know how long do I have to wait for the update, or how top get it faster.?
Hmmm.... why does even HTC bother with this region nonsense.?
Please an answer to this?
Im 100% new here.
So far it looks like only some European countries have received the update, and only for WWE phones, to find out if it's a WWE phone you can check with fastboot:
Code:
fastboot getvar cid
If it's HTC__001 you have a WWE phone. I live in the UK and haven't got the update yet, but I'm hoping to get it at least this week. If your phones not WWE, then it'll probably take even longer for your update to be released.
Can you give me the steps to get in fast boot please?

since all you're needing is the cid, just go grab CID getter off the store. It's free and will tell you your carrier ID and thus who you're beholden to for updates.
As kouroshp said, if the CID is HTC_001, you have a WWE phone (SIM-unlocked and purchased from HTC, rather than via a carrier) and get your updates straight from HTC and thus you're likely to get your updates soonest.
If it isn't, then you know who to bother about when you'll be getting the update.
Either download the Android SDK or these files, either should give you fastboot.
Power off your phone, power it back on holding the power button and the volume-down button, select fastboot from the list (using the volume keys to navigate and the power to select), then connect your phone to your PC.
Then open command prompt, change to the directory containing fastboot, and enter what I said in my previous post. Select reboot afterwards.
EDIT: Or what compro01 said, got there before me
I noticed a link that was posted on the other thread. Is this for all phones?

What this means is you have a XTC Clip'd IncS, but you have the North American version based on the BM___001 value.
The NA IncS is modelid PG3212000. The update is for the modelid PG3213000, so the official OTA would fail with device id error.
The good news is since you are S-OFF/carrier unlocked via XTC Clip, you can force the WWE version of 3.11.405.2 on your phone and then force the ICS OTA.
Thanks a lot for the reply.
I understood half of what you said...i'm completey new with android and hacking but from what i understand my model of HTC isn't the on compatible with the OTA update but since i'm S-OFF i can force the update using recovery boot and forcing it to launch the instalation?(Using this file i assume)

First you have to get the latest version of GB 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 installed on your phone. This will be WWE 3.11.405.2. This is the only version that the OTA file will upgrade.

As far as I'm aware the **tampered** flag is there in the same spirit as the yellow triangle on Samsung devices, exactly so they can tell you've unlocked and modified it. Unfortunately, I do not believe there is currently a method such as with triangleaway to get rid of this on the One yet. You'll just have to chance it and send it back as is

That's probably why I don't find anything about how to fix that, However if this is a dev phone this should be allow that's part of what developers do I think.

RUU
If you download and the One's RUU from HTC's website, it erases the tampered. I discovered this when I had to restore my device to stock with the RUU.
Should be to download the RUU, run the RUU. The bootloader needs to be relocked.
After you set set it back to factory, just unlock the bootloader and you're free to go.
If the exe version doesn't work, the fastboot version should.

Both Brightstar US listed above is the Developer Edition. The CID is BS_US001 (I think they should of used a better CID letters!!). The first one is the EXE, the other is the ZIP for the fastboot version.

Seems like your phone is rooted do you don't receive any official updates. You can boot in boatloader and see if your phone is unlocked, shutdown your phone and start your phone by holding power and volume down button at the same time. See what it says there, probably "unlocked" and s-on or s-off. After that chose recovery and see which recovery you have.
Go to settings - About Phone - Software Info and post what it says.
The device you bought was not new. It was unlocked and had or has a custom recovery installed.

It looks like it is a development model (not DEV edition), which should not be sold anyways.
You can root and flash custom ROM, but I highly doubt that you will receive updates for a development model.

Well since your bootloader is already unlocked and you got the custom recovery, you can always flash the latest custom rom that has Android 4.2 or 4.3. Otherwise you can bring the phone back to stock if possible. They're how to guides on how to do that on XDA.

Well your bootloader is still 1.44, so you still have the option to get S-Off, which would allow you to remove TAMPERED, and also allow you to return completely back to stock using a RUU.
How familiar are you with all this? I would recommend reading some of the guides, but if you do want to get back completely to stock you'll probably need to S-Off.
Can you post "fastboot getvar all" (and remove your IMEI and serial number before posting).
No updates

Factory reset will just reset your current Rom. So you have two options, 1 flash an other rom, which is already 4.3 and learn what a custom Rom can do for you, welcome to xda or 2, you can revert to stock version by flashing the right RUU for your version, but you need s-off to do this. You should do this now your bootloader is still 1.44. Anyway whatever you gonna do, you will have some homework to do!

First you need to install the HTC drivers (http://d-h.st/4LL), and adb/fastboot sdk (http://d-h.st/ja1) credits to @vomer; please read through the first part of his guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506
Once you've installed HTC drivers, and unzipped adb sdk to C:\ADB, reboot your phone into bootloader -> FASTBOOT, connect your phone to the PC, FASTBOOT will change to say FASTBOOT USB.
On your PC: "CD C:\ADB" then type "fastboot getvar all" and post results back (remember to remove IMEI and serial number)

OK, that tells us you have a Vodaphone UK version, not Asia, not a problem.
Since you're still on 1.44 hboot, I would recommend to get S-Off, as you will not be able to do that later. Continue followoing vomer's guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506 and the original revone thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
Do the S-Off, no need to SuperCID at this time.
Why S-Off you ask, it would allow you to run any RUU (upgrade & downgrade) for any country and/or carrier.
Regarding SIM Lock, is your phone tied to any specific carrier at the moment? I assume not, since I dont think you're on Vodaphone UK, so the phone is/should arleady by SIM-unlocked.
Continue and report back, so we proceed with the next steps.

my CID is HTC_332
as for my version main, can u help me find this? where do i look?
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Post all the info here but remove imei and serial number.
However, it's an US region, so you will have the update with stock rom, stock recovery and a locked bootloader when the update will arrive in the country

For the htc update you've to wait until they will release it for your CID.
However, you know how to use adb and fastboot?
