By chance did you use to own an iphone? If so you need to log into your apple account and disable imessage, otherwise it's still trying to send them there.

Dont see this issue anywhere else...

So i flashed over to the most current radio the other day along with a new rom.
I just tried sending a 2-part txt msg and it keeps NOT sending. Smaller messages cant be sent and received though.
I'm thinking maybe its the radio, but does anyone else know whats going on?
Follow the IRC that's linked in the CM6 ROM. It's a known issue.
Oh, that's IF you're using CM6 or a CM6-based ROM.
whats an irc in a rom?????

IRC = Internet Revolutionary Chat... j/k ... But it is a chat following progress on the latest Froyo 2.2
http://webirc.fossnet.info:9090/?channels=hero-cdma
oh i know what IRC was i just figured it meant something else related to the rom lol i use xchat.
Suuurrreee.... women *sigh*
j/k What rom are you using?
was in there and everyone is just idling. not talking.
the latest cyanogen 6. just flashed it over 2 days ago.
so aside from IRC, is there a fix for the txting issue?
No, I don't believe so right now. I'd say just watch the character count... it shows how close you are when you reach like 10 or 15 characters left or somethign like that.
all the AOSP roms are like that. The AOSP mms.apk doesn't split messages. Install either handcent or chompsms and in the settings tell it to split messages larger than 160 characters.
another known issue with AOSP is that if you are on a carrier other than sprint sending MMS is a no go
ok well i dont know what aosp is but I AM on sprint
AOSP is Android Open Source Project. any of the roms that are compiled from android source are refered to as AOSP. (CSrom, CM6, DarchDroid are all AOSP)
lucky you, you get working mms sending then as a sprint customer.

VTok, New Gmail video chat app

The new chat with google without having to wait for 2.3.4. But on the Gtab both screens are turned sideways This is running on Vegan Ginger, someone else test on a different rom and let me know if you have any luck.
face tbe tablet down it will turn normal
Nice find, thanks!
Running VegaN-Tab 5.1.1, works great! Thanks for finding this!!
Maybe just me, but it may have kept the g tab from falling asleep.
I installed and when i log in it goes to a white screen and says contacts at the top of the screen. Im not quite sure what to do from there or if this is an error. Anyone have any input. Im running vegan ginger rc1. Thanks.

You have to have a contact that is available to do video chat in order to see the contact.
Still can't get it to work properly with Vegan Ginger.
I was able to get it to work, although i get the sideways screen issue -- still a better substitute than having nothing...much better quality that the yahoo messenger video chat
Running vegan 7
Working on Calk's ROM
I just got this up and running on my GTab running Calk's 1.1 ROM. The picture quality is very pixellated which I assume is because it hasn't been tablet optimized. I'm really just happy that I can actually use the camera for something, GTalk no less!
Wow, Nice find! installed on my gtab running vegan 5.1, made video calls to both my PC and Evo, worked great!
Justim
Running Vegan Ginger RC1 here. The video is rotated 90 degrees on both my end and the computer feed. If it works on Vegan 5.1, I think that's reason enough to switch back to it. This is the missing killer tablet app as far as I'm concerned.
apk?
I am running stock and do not have access to the market. Can someone post the apk please to see if it works on my stock gtab?

Excellent app, this really made my day when I got it to work and only displays users that can videochat so no guessing
Sent from my VEGAn-TAB-v1.0.0b5.1.1 using XDA Premium App

Downgraded to vegan 5.1 and she's running perfectly now. Great find guys!
For some reason, I have about a 5 second audio delay on mine. Running VegaN-Tab 5.1.1, another guy in our office also has a gtab running the same Rom. When we tried VTok on our internal wireless network we got the delay. Haven't tried it on any other system yet.
Anyone else seeing this behavior or have a suggestion for fixing it?
Anyone have this running well on a Gingerbread release?

I wouldn't try to get much of anything to work on a stock G-tab. You need to just go ahead and bite the bullet and install VegaN 5.1 at least. If you stick with the stock ROM you will ALWAYS have problems getting apps that everybody else gets with no problem. If you follow the instructions here at XDA you will get full market access too so there is no downside.
Vtok looks and sounds interesting, but the fact that none of my contacts show up (even though I know they have video set up) tells me that maybe everybody must have Vtok for it to work, like skype, tango, etc. ?

That isn't, or shouldn't be the case. I gave it a spin last night and was able to connect to someone on normal PC Laptop. The person you want to chat with has to be able to use video at that moment or they won't show up in this app. Not intended to be rude, just to give it a little highlight so other's don't miss it and ask the same things later.
I had the same VEGAn Gingerbread issue with the camera rotation, but i've seen that on pretty much every device i've used any video chat on that was geared to be landscape by default.
Video quality was very low, but i'll blame that one a bad internet connection till I have somewhere a little better to test with. Hopefully this is updated to work a little better in the future since it's the most widely usable option outside of Skype(which is still holding onto that video chat function from most of us) or Yahoo(plugin needed for Android), but Yahoo seems to only work for a minute or two before it pretty much destroys the stability of my tablet till I reboot... lol

This is a complete lie!!!
You can install Android Market on a stock firmware, and have access to all of the apps that a custom firmware has access to. Don't give advice if you don't know what you are talking about!

[Q] CM Messaging app

Will the CM messaging app for work on ARHD 10.1 rom? I have been out of the game for awhile when it comes to Android, but i got everything the way i kind of want it with ARHD and don't really want to jump ships again, i like it. But, i really want to be able to use the quick reply from the notification pull down. (I was on Iphone for awhile, and used IntelliscreenX, and it's the closest thing i've found to that.) I just want to know if installing the apk for the CM messaging app will hold up, or if it will cause issues, thanks!
i heard MMS doesnt work with it, everything else works

I haven't been able to get it to work, i don't get many mms, so it wouldn't be a big deal if that was glitchy.

Help, AT&T messages vs stock/3rd party

So I found out about a week ago that I missed an mms new years day. The only reason I even found out is because I opened the AT&T messages up and started viewing all "unread" messages. (In quotes because they had already been read on other apps.)
So then I opened the stock s5 messages app and noticed that that along with Chomp had not received that mms.
I don't know if I've missed any others.
AT&T messages is by far not the best texting app out there, but if that app is the only one that I can confidently count on to get all of my messages then what other choice do I have. (P.S. I don't like it because it doesn't do sms popups.)

Yeah that's a good one. I wish we could still use multiple sms apps like before. Now 4.4 makes you choose a default.

You can always turn off At&t Messenger (bad one ) and use default messenger or this one : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging&hl=en

I used to have a Galaxy S3 that was AT&T, and I flashed ROMs almost every other day. Lot's of times I would forget to use SMS Backup, or Titanium Backup, or Helium/Carbon. Since I was flashing all the time, I was constantly Wiping my info, and once the phone was up and running I would just Download AT&T Messaging App, and I would not have lost ANY of my messages, and also didn't have to backup any messages prior.
I say all of this because I now have an AT&T Galaxy S5 SM-G900A and 1.) It really frustrates me that there aren't that many ROMs for it yet. but also because 2.) After I rooted my GS5 as well as installed SafeStrap Recovery, I also have every message on my phone, even ones from my GS3, due to the AT&T Messaging App, I think it works fairly well, plus you've got all your Voicemails there as well, and the majority of them are readable thanks to the AT&T Visual Voicemail feature, just my opinion....Now if only I can find some Lollipop ROMs for this thing, then I'll be cooking with grease!

Hate to break it to you but you won't find a lollipop rom for this model, all roms have to be touchwiz based. Such is life with a locked bootloader.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! Are they ever going to work on unlocking the Bootloader? My Old Motorola Xoom Tablet Had a Locked Bootloader and I was able to unlock it with ADB/Fastboot and put Cyanogen Mod 10.1 and it originally started with Android Honeycomb 3.0. So I would think there would be a way? And also I was wondering, if I have SafeStrap installed, and an OTA upgrade from AT&T comes through should I download it?

Only way as of now is get the keys somehow or bruteforce, neither of which are possible. No, don't take the ota, when one comes someone will make a wayto update to it and poat about it in general most likely, but there hasnt been an ota in a while. Check the ATT s5 android development forum, theres quite a few nice roms there.

If you take any updates it will break root.
No this bootloader won't be unlocked or it would've been by now and expect any new ATT devices to locked tight as well.
There are quite a few G900F Roms and G900T to. In the G900A thread there's four.
I personally ran VisionX and ViSiX Roms for G900A and I ran Pyrana and ClinchL Roms from the G900F threads.
You can flash those Roms just not any custom kernels or AOSP Roms.

Verizon VVM and an AOSP ROM

Is there any work around to set this up? It works on the stock rom obviously, and clean rom. Any rom but AOSP roms, however I want to run an AOSP rom and get my VVM to work.
Have you tried a good party VVM to see if it will set up

wonderful - anyone know if it will ever be possible or its just not setup that way. And if you run an AOSP rom on a Verizon nexus 6 can we still check voicemail not visually by using the annoying phone dialer?

Yes normal voicemail still works although I would highly suggest turning off VVM in your account if you use AOSP or your only notification will be a garbled text message.
