Which dialer has this? Any idea how I can get it on a donut ROM? I have changed my wife's ROM a few times and her only complaint now is that she no longer has this feature (so she knows the call has ended).

It's part of the modified Phone.apk made by cytown that can be found in this thread. It adds the option you're looking for into the phone's Call settings. Requires root obviously. The latest version is included in Cyanogen's experimental ROM v4.1.999.
Hello,
I have been using CM for the last months, and now that the stock froyo rom is here with sense, I was decided to give it a try.
One of the things I have gotten used to in CM is the power control widget with 2G/3G options. I feel like I cant live without that right now, so I am trying to get it back. Has someone being able to do this?
I donwloaded the mod from here, and flash it using rom manager:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/3625-new-power-control-widget-with-one-click-2g3g-toggling/
But no luck, after restarting androud would freeze up after 5 seconds.
Any help? Thank youi!

I'm thinkin the same thing. Guess they have to sort out a new and updated app.
It isn't just that simple... guys at CM modified phone and settings apk for this to work... you can't just replace those two files here in stock FroYo! There are many dependencies. Besides you would at least have to deodex stock ROM but that's just the beginning...
I suspect it needs APIs only present in cyanogenmod. But, perhaps if the API for toggling 3G is discovered (it must be there as there's a HTC widget for this), one could modify the default power control widget.
You mean API call? I doubt that stock HTC ROM has that. Does AOSP have it? From the original author in CM thread you can see that he was waiting for Google to implement that call but they weren't so he modified settings.apk and phone.apk to allow that call...

The HTC ROM must have it (or something similar), since it has a widget for 3G enable/disable. Whether it's accesible or hidden is a different question. And AOSP doesn't have it, obviously.

The call might have the same name, but it calls different aspects of setting. Only that way the same software would produce two different results using the same action on two different ROMs (namely CM and stock HTC). This sounds logical.
Google "switchpro" it is just like the CM froyo power widget but more customizable.
And then what?
We know those widgets but we are talking here that they don't produce the same result on different ROMs... namely CM and stock HTC's.

Where is that widget? does it really switch from 3G to 2G in one click?

I tried it, but when you clicked on the 2G/3G switch icon it takes you the settings, it does not switch in one click, not as good as CM power control widget
Hey All,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm tired of the version 2.1 stock ROM for the Sprint Hero. Even when its rooted and I clean out all the bloatware its still sluggish, buggy, and it has lately been aggravating me to no end. I want a nice lightweight ROM that has everything working (radio, wifi, data, etc.) but I don't want the HTC Sense UI if possible. Also, if it could have built in wifi tether (because all the apps I've used on the stock ROM tend to lock up or reboot the device) that would be great. Also, Apps2SD would also be nice but not a requirement.
Can someone recommend a good one?
Thanks in advance!

you are posting in the way wrong section this would have been better suited in general or Q&A
but my recommendation for you would be CM7 the official release for the HeroC, its stock android with some flavor. good battery life, apps2sd supported via built in manager (added in 2.2). built in tethering in the device settings menu (AOSP 2.3 feature) and last but not least it's AOSP based so SenseUI is nowhere to be found
I have tried all and in my mind the fastest has been hero deck. I even turned down my MHz to 691 when I use to have it at 768.
Sent from my HERO200 using Tapatalk
Deck's rom is fast....No doubt, but.....if you're looking for a blend of speed and stability I'd listen to ThoughtlessKyle and go with CM7. That is what I put back on my Hero for my son to use.

I'll definitely look into both ROMs. Thanks for the help!
My stock rom ran into issues the other day. Force close loop on senseui or something. Basically required a factory reset so while I was at it I decided to put a new rom on. I went with CM7. Had done a bunch of reading in the past and everyone was using CM6 then. Its nice. The one thing I didnt like is the voicemail. Getting it setup to download my voicemails to the phone was kinda a pain and the annoying texts from 9016 get old quick. Not sure why there is no solution for this. And running a separate program to block messages from 9016 isnt really a solution in my opinion.
I hear that deck rom has voicemail working with no additional installation/config necessary and none of the 9016 text messages so I plan to give it a try.
So I'm running an aosp ROM and noticed that I'm not getting text messages from iphones. I'm running the latest CRom. Everything else if running great.
Any fix??

By chance did you use to own an iphone? If so you need to log into your apple account and disable imessage, otherwise it's still trying to send them there.
Anyone know how to get Android native sip working, can't find it in phone settings...
Used an activity launcher but it didn't make any calls...

Not sure if there is a native client, but I know Zoiper works for me.
necroing this here, i just purchased two of these for my kids to play pokemon go. They have FI data only sim cards and typically use my PBX to place calls. The native sip functionality seems to be missing in the settings. I'm considering using a custom rom which will likely resolve the issue, but I've heard of issues with custom roms and pokemon go so I was trying to avoid this route.
Any input regarding the native sip functionality or specific roms for this phone that work fine with pokemon go AND have working native sip would be appreciated. if your reply is about using a third party app, i'm well aware that they work and such comments are not helpful. thanks.

If you have root, you might be able to replace the stock dialer with the latest google dialer. I'm trying this today and will let you know how it goes.

awesome, looking forward to your results. I briefly checked play store for the google dialer, but didn't see it. I considered loading gapps but i couldn't remember if the google dialer was included in any of them.

It would be listed as Google phone, not dialer , for some reason. It is in the open gapps package. And there are ways to add the needed framework and just the dialer if wanted.

i am pretty certain that the open gapps install script automaticly disables or removes the old version of apps that it installs., so dont think you need to use the de-bloat beforehand.
Now Im gonna try to install the gapps too to see how it goes.

Gapps installed fine. Took awhile to start after. Needed to "optimize" 47 apps.
It has google phone. But I do not know where or how to set up "sip" of "voip" on this dialer (or any for that matter)
EDIT:
google just showed me this. Dont know if it works for sure but , here it is.

I followed the diretions in that link, but I do not have the "sip account" setting available.

Great! thanks for running through this! If you're interested in testing sip functionality, PM me and i'll make you a sip account on my PBX. It's US Nationwide calling and Canada.
I'm assuming arm is the appropriate architecture, being that it's an arm cortex a53. I looked through each edition of gapps and I didnt see anything that included google phone. Should i assume it's simply built into any version of Nano and above?

I re-read my post. It was not clear.
I do not have the menu for sip account. So something is missing from phone app.
It is version 10. XXXX
on my other phone(blu life max) running slim-rom and open gapps. The phone app is version 9.XXXX and it has the sip menu
I will try to find the gapps I installed on that phone and see if it is v9 vs v10 that is the problem of missing menu first.
If I get the sip-menu then I can follow up with trying your pbx if you want.

Still same missing sip menu using older gapps with v9.XXX dialer. Must be some stock rom interference with the settings. If camera is not a problem for you then the cm13 port might be an option. OR . The zen rom port has working camera, and has not had too many reviews. I will try to add gapps to that one and see if it has sip menu.
It's not a huge deal, I'll just run csipsimple for now. The kids use the camera for catching Pokemon...
Offer for sip service if you want to play still stands regardless, just hit me up. I appreciate your help!

the zen-ui rom has finished and it does not have sip-menu. Installed the gapps on it and still missing the menu.
The slim-rom I have on my "life max" is same rom used to port to r1. So my last attempt is to flash that rom and see.
But my port is not fully working. Audio drops out and camera stops working. But if the sip menu (voip) is there, then it is a rom problem. But if the menu is still missing, that tells me it has to be a kernel problem. All the roms have same kernel.
UPDATE:
yes the sip-menu is shown with the slim-rom port.
so this would be the 'native" option.
I have not spent time working on the rom in a while. I was hopeing for community help to finish. But that has not happened.
My current position with the rom is, I beleive the main issue remaining is the audio/ media server stops and rom needs reboot. This server stop is seen in the logcat. But i do not know why yet. And after it stops the camera server becomes unstable, then it stops.
I have seen , but not tried yet. An app in playstore that is meant for addressing the problem of camera server stopping. It is supposd to be able to restart it with out restarting whole phone.
Im planning to keep slim-rom on for few days or more and explore this app as possible work-a-round
Uninstalling the stock phone app and trying to install Google Phone from apkmirror did NOT work. Don't try it; I was only able to restore a working phone app by restoring /system. Maybe something in build.prop is disabling this? I might look around and see if this is a possibility; CSipSimple works perfectly though if people need sip support, as others have said.

I took on trying to fix my lineage and slim ports because of this sip phone question.
I now have a solution for sip phone on stock rom.
It is same solution from before that did not work, I found so reason it did not work. Blu had intentionaly removed the permission to sip and voip.
so if still interested in getting sip without third party apps. Here is a recovery install zip, that adds the google dialer framework, apk, and needed /etc/permissions
there is warning in the gapps install about adding google dialer that is also relivent here. Default phone app must be set to this goole dialer and also recomend disable stock dialer.
Wow, you rock man! Thanks for your efforts on this!!
