Has anyone else been seeing a BIG battery drain related to S Voice replies? My brightness is low, timeout is minimum, and battery life is normally very good. It's only when I'm using S Voice that I see a big drain.

S voice has not caused any battery problems for me. Use it as much as I can with brightness on 4 and wrist flip turned on as well. Last about 2 days for me.

I have been struggling with my battery life and started to make some measurements with a program called PowerGuard v1.2. I was hoping that someone might be able to give me some comparable results..
My Tilt is pulling the following mA draw
Idle: 75mA
On With Backlight: 140mA
In Call with Backlight 325mA
In Call w/o Backlight 250mA
Can anyone provide some results to compare? I have heard that idle usage should be around 50mA.
I found the Software here:
http://www.vandenmuyzenberg.nl/PowerGuard/
Without using PowerGuard and just using AEButton i can tell you that idle my device draws 7mA
I did not now AEButton had an option for recording power draw... Will give it a try...
How about in-call usage? That seems to be what is killing me.. my standby time seems great...

It doesn't monitor but has the option to show uptime and mA usage calls always kill battery, but then very dependant on Radio.
I get 1.5 days of a 2700 and am happy
I know this crazy question but here goes. I am doing the battery thing where you need to drain your battery until the phone shuts down. What things can I turn on to get my Battery Drain FAST? I told you it crazy.
Thanks
Turn on wifi, Bluetooth and turn ur brightness all the way up. Also turn on gas and then run a background that moves.

Thanks. I had phone at 35% and wanted to try to drain completely so I could Charge overnight.
Turn screen on full brightness and play angry birds while streaming music from Pandora at full volume.
Curious why you would want to drain fully just so you could charge overnight?
When you drain the battery and then recharge it completely, it helps increase the volume of the battery to help it last longer.
huh? I think you need to do some research on li-ion batteries.
I think.he might be trying to recalibrate his battery
I kinda thought that but the post regarding increasing capacity of the battery threw me.
it won't be XDA without ways to magically improve your battery life.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to calibration increasing phone uptime and accuracy of the battery meter, rather than actually increasing the battery's capacity.
Yes that's what I was trying to say. not the best at explaining

Quick question: with always on detection whether the screen is on or off, is there extra battery drain on the N6, or is there some sort of low power processor like the ambient display that keeps the battery drain to a minimum?
Thanks in advance!
I haven't noticed any additional drain. I always get over 5 hours SOT with it on.
There will be battery use, but it probably wont be very noticeable.
Hey guys,
I just got my Moto X 2014 last Monday and have noticed the battery life kinda sucks, so I've been monitoring it and my cellular radio and WiFi are using quite a bit of battery and I'm also getting some wakelocks that i cant find the source of (as being on lollipop and not being rooted).
I am almost always around WiFi and have excellent signal (3+bars) all the time and have all the same apps I've had installed on my galaxy nexus (witch the battery graph would actually flat line and have no wake locks) so I cant see any one of my apps being a problem for the battery drain of 10-15% over night with Moto Display turned off (as not to wakelock me haha).
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this phone but i expected a bit better idle time than this.
Anyone out there have any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks,
McDuff

I've been on lollipop on my PE for a while now and had horrible standby time. Google play services was always shown as the highest consumer of battery. I finally decided to clear cache from recovery and now my standby times have improved dramatically, about 1% drop per hour or so. Not sure what the problem was as I did factory reset after updating to lollipop via ota.
Considering the phone is always listening, 1% per hour is ok. I get around this with a good signal. I just think that battery drain while the phone is being used is very high. It drains 1% each 3,6 minutes while playing a video from the internal memory with sound on 50% and brightness on 25%.

Welcome to lollipop. Enough said. Lollipop has severe battery issues and at the moment there is no fix as far as i can see or have tried.
I found that disabling moto voice reduced my overnight drain from 1% to 0.5% per hour which is very reasonable considering I have moto display enabled and it gets activated a lot during the night (I have a springy bed lol). Since moto voice on lollipop is not that good anyway I don't miss it too much. This also proves that moto display has negligible impact on battery life.

You can also make it so your moto display won't come online during sleep time, just saying.

I do have what's app and Instagram apart from the other two that you mentioned .. my general use is of 3.5 to 4 hours per day but by the end of day the battery dies..so my question is should I stop background running apps? I have around 30 to 35 apps installed on phone..
I got this tips for battery longevity..
Also, don't put phone on vibration mode...it consumes battery...either silent or sound..
Attached
1) get charger alarm and set it to 80%
2) disable uselesa background apps.
Thats it.
I charge to 80% every morning, despite having 4G volte + data 24/7 with upto 2 hours calling, 30mins-60mins gaming, 1hr+ chatting, 30mins+ 9gag, 30mins youtube...
Mine phone still stays around 35%...when I check next morning
Data (4g), location, auto synch are ALWAYS turned ON
(Yesterday my totol usge was 5.5hours with 1hour gaming (fortnite)... My battery was at 25% when i checked this morning)
I recently bought the honor play but have found the battery usage to be higher than I would like at night during standby. I leave my phone connected to wifi and 4g (although 4g is not on when wifi is) and I noticed that the phone wakes up a lot during the night. It seems that it mostly wakes up more often when on wifi as when on 4g during the day there are far fewer wake up events. So to solve this problem I'm using tasker to disable wifi, deny all network activity (excluding calls), bluetooth and auto sync for me during 11:30pm and 7.30am. The result is that the phone barely wakes up at night now and I am getting 2-3% battery drain over 8 hours instead of 10-14%. So I would recommend doing this, as it seems to improve battery life. There may be other apps that can do the same thing but I like the interface and usability of it over something like automate.
Edit: I would also recommend leaving the standard power saving mode on all the time as it doesn't limit performance but just limits background activity. However, this does disable auto sync, but then you could just set auto sync to turn on at set intervals using tasker, at least that's what I'm doing.
