Hi
Silly question.
Can I S-Off while on custom ROM?
Im on eMMC 9001 HBOOT 1.54 and will trie Android Revolution HD 71.1
If someday the S-OFF utility is released (via FireWater, Rumrunner or whatever) can I do it from Android Revolution HD? or I need to be in stock?
Thanks for your help and comments...
I was only able to get S-OFF on Cyanogenmod, not on stock. When the eMMC 9001 S-OFF is found your answer will be found in these forums, I guess.

yes it can be done, do not update your phone, the newer HBOOTs are harder to s-off, at the moment you are on 1.54 so s-off should be easy and its best to use a custom rom, use rumrunner to s-off.

Thanks for answer but not quite easy to S-OFF...
You see Im on eMMC 90014a484 and is almost imposibble to make the S-OFF working, believe me I already open some threads about it and tried every single tool and on Linux/Windows PC with not succeed.
However my main concern was if I install Android Revolution the S-OFF can be done no matter if is stock or custom at the time they launch the final solution to 9001.

Btw there is no guaranty "they" (devs) will ever find a solution. We all hope this will happen but don't forget the M7 is getting old (1.5 year old) and probably much more efforts are focused on newer devices than on our M7. Hopefully, newer HTC phones s-off methods will works for the M7 that are still stuck s-on.

Yes I know and this problem may take weeks or even months to be solved. I was reading other threads from people that are really desperate on this matter.
I'm on 1.54 but eMMC 9001 and my MID is PN0713000 is more common but my CID is HTC__332 and OS 2..24.599 this means there is no stock RUU to download for me since there is no RUU with those specs for my ONE M7 and the only hope was installing a diffrerent RUU changing CID but without S-OFF this will be impossible until developers make it happen on 9001 series

I have successfully custom flashed Sense 3.0 with 2.3 gingerbread for my incredible S phone. It only took 3 long days. I am very happy but what now? I want this to be my permanent ROM. Is there anything else that I am recommended to do now? I was reading about how you can make your phone almost like a stock phone meaning S-OFF and Unroot. Not too sure if that is necessary. What do you guys think?
please provide more info..
what Custom Rom are you on and how did you flash Sense 3.0.
there's a lot of threads hear and your initial details really don't provide much useful information.
I am on Virtuous Unity 1.27.0 Sense 3.0 based on Pyramid, I flashed it through 4EXTRecovery_v2.1.0_RC1_vivo.
I also had to flash a radio file to my ROM afterwards. I did that through the SDK software. Instructions from here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Incredible_S:_FAQ Here is a list of Radio files for your specific provider/region : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12870734&postcount=1
I S-OFF'd my phone through Alpha RevX..there is also a you tube tutorial on how to do it. If anyone has anymore questions on how to do it then msg me!
So now what is left to do?????? Any other procedures? Besides flashing more Roms!
saying the custom rom, radio, cwm would have been enough information. anyways i see that you're new so it's all good.
so the question is, What do you want to do with your phone. after customizing it, are you okay with performance? no bugs? What do YOU want to do with your phone?
I want to permanantly make it my OS. Is that possible? I posted all of that because when I was figuring out how to do this I found that other peoples solutions helped me out alot tee hee
guys I think this belongs in "General"

What do you mean 'permanently make it my OS'? That ROM will stay on your phone as long as you want it, until you decide you want to flash a different one. There's no need to go trying to lock it down again after flashing it, that's a pointless exercise.
Dude you're S-OFF and rooted now, there is nothing else to do other than installing custom ROMs or flashing radios(if needed) Virtious Unity is now your ROM, if you want to revert back to what the phone came with, you will need to flash a official RUU.
Awesome thanks for the reply

you need to go S-ON again? you used alpharevx? If so, just flash the whole official RUU and you will be S-ON again since it would also flash the bootloader.

That is a common misconception. Apparently AlphaRevX's HBOOT prevents a RUU from overwriting it. There have been several posts about running an RUU on an AlphaRevX S-OFF IncS and the ROM does indeed update, but the device is still S-OFF and AlphaRevX HBOOT is still in place.

I haven't tried it myself so I guess you're true, when I flashed the stock RUU I flashed it without the bootloader file (unzip, delete, zip) as stated in a thread regarding keeping S-OFF when installing stock RUU. A guy has found the solution to going S-ON again in his thread in the general discussion section.

Yes I saw that this morning. Basically AlphaRevX has a special HBOOT you can 'downgrade' with that you must flash and then using the special HBOOT you can flash an official HTC HBOOT. End result is S-OFF and you have a standard HTC HBOOT.
Hello all, I am sort of in a predicament.
First of all, I have an ATT Htc One that had 1.44 Hboot and unlocked, rooted, running Android Revolution HD 22.0 just fine.
On the rom the thread Mike said it was recommended to update firmware, so I did just that.
I headed over to his thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823 found the corresponding firmware zip for my device
CWS 001 PN0712000 and flashed it. The firmware being 3.06.1700.10 and now my hboot is 1.54
I am aware that no RUU's will run with 1.54 but is there anyway I can revert back to stock without running a RUU?
Maybe flashing stock rom and stock recovery, relocking and wait for the upcoming OTA due for the ATT htc one?
I would very appreciative for the help.
And I know I should've been more knowing before flashing firmwares, so go on and burn me as much as youd like but id still like some help.
I just assumed since the rom developer insisted it was for the better that there would be a way out of it, which is my bad.
thank you

Is that a guaranteed s-off? I wouldn't want to waste 25$
It isn't wasted. It does compatibility checks before it does anything. Most important thing is to have stock kernel for it to work

Try flashing a newer firmware?
[Guide] HTC ONE Hboot 1.57 Root S-Off Change CID Downgrade Hboot & OS
Search the above phrase on google. The first result should be from the site forums(dot)gsmhosting(com) with the title same as search.
I am a new user so I can't post external links.
I used that guide to achieve S-Off on my HTC One M7 UL with Hboot v. 1.57.
I had to run the final firewater commands several times before firewater launched finally. Enough tries to make me memorize those commands so I stopped copying and pasting them and instead actually typing them. But it worked for me.
I hope it helps.

Have you checked settings to see what network mode is checked? Check each one separately to see which one gives the best results. Auto generally works best! Did you have a GSM or CDMA phone?

downgrading hboot require s-off so no, its not possible.
firewater is the only tool that could s-off your phone. have you tried firewater + arhd 31.6? If you get the "whelp" message when trying to s-off there is nothing to do.
last possibility is to s-off the phone via a java card like they are doing at fonefunshop.com
No, I'm on 4.3 Google Play Edition, I had problems with ADB Authorization, I didn't get pop-up message when I connected the phone in debugging, so I had to install that rom, now everything works fine, but I want 4.4 Google Play Edition, so I heard it needs S-Off .. How do you think , should I wait for for 1.57 support or change rom and try this? This HTC Bloatware really annoys me ..
just try a 4.4 rom from the development section. you don't need S-off, just unlock the bootloader, install recovery, and flash new roms.

Yes, you can have a custom recovery and S-ON. However, unless you are returning the phone for warranty reasons the consensus is that you should remain S-OFF. It is becoming more difficult to get S-OFF with the higher hboot like you have.
Thank you majmoz for your support,I really appreciate your early response. I am a new user on this platform and I really appreciate this forum and people like you helping others.
I am on Hboot v 1.57 and used Firewater to S-Off it. Even if I S-On again, wont I be able to use Firewater to S-Off again anytime I want to, This will make me more secure as I may save myself from bad flashes and etc.
Once more, thank you for your support.

Yes, you are right if everything remained the same you could S-Off again. And there are a couple of paid options to S-OFF. S-ON will not prevent you from bad flashes or soft-bricks. You can look through the Q&A section and see how many of the questions are from people with S-ON! With S-OFF, you just need to be more diligent, check the source, check MD5, read and re-read the OP and don't do anything that you are uncomfortable doing. Good luck and happy flashing!
Don't S-On.
EVER.
Just don't

I will also recommend to stay S-OFF. Turn back to S-ON only if you must send the phone for warranty repair, after restoring it to 100% stock.
Thank you guys. I wont S-On my device again but I all I needed to know was that turning S-On with custom recovery bricks the device or not. And with help of you guys I know that it doesn't.
