CoCore for I9070P - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I can't seem to find CoCore-EP (for I9070p)
There are only two builds in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140597 ...One CWM and other TWRP. Will they work even on I9070P?
Thank you

Afaik, it's not updated for I9070P. You can use I9070 version, try latest: CoCore-E Refresh r09, but using it on I9070P makes NFC not working. Don't worry about that, especially if you don't use it. Remember that NFC functionality can be restored by flashing stock (means original) kernel or CoCore-EP

Problem updating

Hy every 1, when i open LG Suport Tool it says:
A new version of phone software was released.
You must update the phone.
So, i hit Start, and at 40% (check the phone) and it says: Your phone is up to date...
I have the official GB v20e Romania....
It's the known fake update..

Hello!
This is a known "bug" of the LG Updater...
...but you could use the latest Euro Open firmware v20l - this should work for you...

Yes you'll lost all your data and the root.. GB is a bit harder to root than froyo but there are some guides in the dev forum

No, you shouldn’t loose your data that way – but you would loose root when using the original LG-ROM.
But there is a pre-rooted version around…
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327949
But when you already rooted your phone, maybe you want to update to one of the newer custom roms including leaked stuff from the newest stock roms v20m/o etc. like i.e.
Guestes Golden Hybrid Rom V2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405012
…or…
Django Manouche 0.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410662
But as always – backup first using i.e. MyPhoneExplorer for SMS, contacts, calendar and Titanium Backup for you apps…
So he won't loose apps but after an upgrade like this it's recommended a wipe data factory so data will be lost anyway

Hello!
The question was “Will my apps be erased…”
He wouldn't loose data updating the linked way...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327929
A full wipe isn’t necessary – only wiping /cache and dalvik-cache is advisable – and doesn’t hurt. No need to format /data here…
...and yes, he should do a full wipe using the suggested custom roms.
But this is a different option/argument and if he reads the intros he should realize that…
And as always make a backup before you update your rom anyway.

[Q] Safe to remove Status 7

Hello
So I'm trying to install the last stable release of CyanogenMod (cm-7.2.0-cooper.zip) on my Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830) using ClockworkMod Recovery (which I'm actually stuck in but that's another story). Anyway when I try to install I get a status 7 error. I found a good guide and I'm pretty sure I know how to rectify it (by removing the assert) but my question is: is it safe do so? This is the latest stable release of CyanogenMod so I'm pretty confident but I can't emphasize how much I don't want to brick my phone.
I can't post any links as I'm a noob but I found the stable release straight off the CyanogenMod wiki.
Thanks

you'll only be able to install CM7 with a custom recovery, so first of all root your device and flash CWM 5.0.2.6. FIX
CM 7.2 stable is designed to run on GT-S5830 so if you get any kind of error while installing it is not made by the package you're installing so in order to avoid serious demage like brick to your device find other way to make it work. Maybe if you describe exactly what you did to install the rom we can help you with more accuracy and easly

CWM 6.0.3.1 for new BL?

Hi,
I'm not sure if I can just install CWM Touch 6.0.3.1 (download) on the new bootloader.
Or is there a modified version like TWRP for new BL?
Thanks for your help

I think it's only for the old bootloader.. Pengus teach us to do that.. But i think that TWRP is better

you should use TRPW, i thinks is more easy. and its touch, so you won't use too much your hardkeys

CWM Touch is also touch
I have installed TWRP for now, I think the design is a lot worse, but it's more convenient...
If I want to go back to CWM, where do I get the 6.0.3.1 Touch for new BL?
I found out there is no 6.0.3.1 for new BL, the latest is 6.0.2.5 by pengus. That's a plus for old BL.
@pengus77 would you consider to update yours? It got some UI improvements etc.

ok cool, but what is omni?
and isnt it tha tthe 10.1 version has some bugs and 10.0 is 100% perfect?
I won´t recommend CM10.1 and/or CM10.2 because they are not fully working.
I´ve used both of them in the last months and they have some bugs, for example, GPS works very bad for me.
I´m also thinking about changing my rom and kernel mostly because of the GPS issue.
Anyone to recommend?
LightJB or HarshJelly?

You will need to upgrade to 4.1.2 JB. Look for guides on our phone section. It is past midnight here, I am waking up early. So search, оr I will post tomorrow. You will find out sure.

Yes.
For the questions you are asking, I think it´s the first time you´ll be doing this.
So first of all I recommend you to get into the developers section and read carefully all the procedure of how to flash, root and other things. If you try doing things without reading before, you might brick your phone.
@yasje
You can fin some informations here:

Like @BachuArg said, read first - then try.
Be carefull, do not install I9070P JB on I9070 phone and I9070 firmware on I9070P phone. That will cause hard brick!!!
And do not use Hong Kong firmware, it will be stuck on that firmware.
So.
step 1. update rooted 2.3.6 to official jb?
step 2. download custom rom.
step 3 flash
step 4 wipe data/ blablalba
step 5 tada done
am i right? ^^

CM10.0 is older, and do not have camera and OMX fixed as I remember. Use 10.1.

No need to change kernel. But it has red border sometime, it is explained how to remove it - read couple of posts later.
P.S. We all want 100% working clean and fast ROM. But we do not have sources to make it 100%. You can try it, and if you do not like it - you can go back to stock.
Explore, read, learn, try... That is what is Android about.
red border ok?
and camera wifi direct and other stuff does working normally? and the rom isnt laggy or slow at all?
nvm i used cocor kernel 8.2 smooth and fast as hell
only i doubt choosing a rom: omni rom or harsjelly?

custom kernel

Hello
Im glad that we had great LP roms for our phone by great pleople.
I wonder if somebody could make a kernel which could be compatible with them.
