[Q] Reset Service menu to default? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

is there a way to reset everything you touched/changed in your service menu to default/factory settings?
because i think i may have messed up my data because i dont get data unless i relock phone and factory unlock again. and it stays at edge and transfers between edge and no service. i tried complete stock with odin still didnt fix it. when i do that i get the "sim not allowed mm#3" until i flash the pda.md5 by its self using odin.
Need help. is it possible?

You messed up your APN settings? One way to do it is to insert a different sim or possibly just turn the phone off take out the sim and reboot. once a device is factory unlocked it can't be relocked so don't worry about that. The default ATT APN will also still be there so you can switch to that for the time being. If you are getting the SIM not allowed error though it means your device is blacklisted or your SIM is not in service. I would suggest making sure you are up to date on your bills and going to swappa.com/esn and checking your IMEI there. sometimes you have to hit reload on the page after you enter if it doesn't give you results in the first minute. good luck man hope you didn't get blacklisted because someone sold you a subsidized phone and didn't pay their bill!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace - Lock Pattern

Hello people..I got an issue with a friend's galaxy ace..As you can understand i have a problem with the pattern lock..
His young cousin blocked it and since then i can't unlock it cause i am not sure about the email or the password , because my friend had messed things up a bit with this..He doesn't remember neither the mail nor the pass.
So..I tried to hard reset the phone and then i realised that the volume down key doesn't work at all...so i am not able to choose factory reset when i launch the phone..
Is there any other way to reset the phone to factory settings without sending it to customer service..?
p.s. i tried to reset it from emergency calls but it didn't work.

Yes it's possible
You can use 2 options (Flashing a fresh stock via Odin it's another possibility...but it's too hardcore XD):
1. As Blackbox421 said you...doing a data/factory reset via recovery >>>>>>>>>> You'll lose ALL you current data (apps, sms...)
2. Using a simple script that I created yesterday to delete lock patern >>>>>>>>>>> You won't lose NOTHING, won't need to do data/factory reset
I didn't try it with stock recovery, but it works with Root+CWM
Here it's my script....it's a flashable zip as always

IMEI Issues, still!

I wrote a brief thread regarding my phone before...
I'll just give the details:
I'm the second owner, phone died while updating.
Phone was bootloader unlocked, and with TWRP recovery.
As such, baseband and IMEI info are missing, I have the original IMEI but, no efs backup or anything.
Any ideas? I've tried to re-install factory stock via both Skipsoft Toolkit and another Toolkit [Yes, I realize this is no help, now]
I've heard restoring another EFS from another phone may work...? I don't know though, I have two Nexus 5's and I can pull an EFS just to try to get back my original IMEI or I've read EFS Pro could help but, again I'm quite lost and just need a hand here.
Thanks.
Ive been an active user on this forum and the rules is that you cant discuss changing the imei here, because its illegal in many countries
Skickat från min Nexus 6 via Tapatalk
No changing!
I'm not discussing changing anything, I just want to repair my missing imei!
It was lost and I can't get a signal on any carrier without one.
I have my original IMEI and just want to restore it.

here's a silly question.. how did you lose your imei? its not an issue on the n6 like earlier nexus phones, people just dont accidentally lose their imei, or their efs., unless they are restoring a nandroid from another phone, that has their efs backed up also..
In all fairness, I don't know the fine tuned point at which the IMEI was lost but, it was shortly after the bootloader unlock and installation of TWRP. At two points, errors were made:
First: Phone died during an update
Second: I hard reset the phone after the update during which the phone loading and I was stuck in a bootloop, when really it just takes a while to load after a full wipe and install.
Yes, I realize that my actions were novice and especially not backing up my EFS or doing a NANDROID backup. In all fairness, I only backup my EFS or NAND on a handful of phone usually ones I frequently flash or my daily driver.
There's a few threads regarding the same issue but, no one is really assisting much in solving it...
I'm not a criminal here, I just want to get my phone back to it's original awesomeness!
Thanks
Sidenote: I did mess around with Titanium Backup but, I don't see that erasing my IMEI.

If know the IEMI for your device there are threads on XDA that may restore it. If don't know the original IEMI you are dead in the water from the get go.

i dont think that you are a criminal, seriously. i was just curious, as on the n5 and n4 that happens often. it really does happen very rarely on a n6. i think the phone dying while updating might of done it. if your bootloader is still unlocked, flashing the factory image might help you. but you will have to do it right, via fastboot while youre in the bootloader. dont use any toolkits, seriously!
I do appreciate the help, I'm going to try flashing the factory image right image see if that helps. Fingers crossed, I'll update with my results. prdog1, you wouldn't happen to know of those threads at all, in case of failure with my factory image.
Thanks, I do appreciate the suggestions. I want to fix this for me and whomever has any issues in the future.

Some VERY curious thoughts! I wasn't paying much attention until after losing my IMEI but, I've noticed a few things! For anyone that has lost an IMEI on your Nexus 6 in you scroll through your bootloader and go to "Barcodes" option, your IMEI is there! Anywho, back to my dilema.
I'm on 5.0.1 LRX22C
Now when re-flashing stock I noticed it would end up failed every time, with flash all or individually flashing items.
I noticed that my bootloader is 71.08 and 5.0.1 is 71.05 can anyone tell me which is 71.08 as there are three 5.1.0 stocks and I want to have the right one that corresponds to 71.08 bootloader.
For further help my full baseband on my phone is D4.0-9625-02.55.04 which incidentally belongs to 5.0.1, I'm thinking this mismatch may be one of my issues.
And thanks, simms22 for the guide, I'm downloading 5.1.0 right now. I'll keep consistent updates!

flash 5.1.1, its the latest. and when you flash a factory image, itll replace the bootloader with whats included in the factory image. oh, btw, do not use flash-all, it wont work, its broken. flash the separate image files individually.
Fingers crossed!

UPDATE: I'm at an hour now, waiting for first boot. Doesn't seem to be a bootloop, any ideas
UPDATE: An hour and a half, still booting.... may need to try something else.

wipe the phone, factory reset i mean
(sorry for getting back so late)
The same thing just happened to me, I had Cyanogenmod 12.1 on my phone, it was a nightly that I did on the 27th of last month. Like two days ago around noon, the phone was charging and it just lost all signal so I rebooted the phone and still the same thing, on the top it said that the phone had no sim card inserted. So I powered off the phone and removed the sim card and started the phone then I powered off and inserted the sim card and nothing, I updated to the newest nightly and nothing. Then I wiped the whole phone and flashed the newest nexus 6 factory image for t-mobile and still nothing. The thing that sucks is that I did backup my efs partition but I just updated the pc to windows 10 and I deleted the old.windows files so I am out of luck. I'm planning on taking it to T-Mobile and hopefully I can get a new one or get this one fixed. I hope you find a fix.

That doesn't mean your IMEI is broken or missing. You made no mention of checking it in the about phone section or in the dialer by input *#06#. It's likely that your SIM card is just broken. The IMEI doesn't just wipe itself out.
---------- Post added at 05:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:07 AM ----------
The same goes for the OP. I see few people claiming that root, TWRP or failing an install of a ROM wiped out their IMEI. Yet none take into account that maybe their SIM is broken, or the phone may be flagged, etc. Especially when one is not the first owner of the device.
I'm telling you guys that literally none of those things mess with the IMEI and all things stated lead me to believe that it is not an issue.

The IMEI is stored in the CID partition. The CID is a small datablock containing the processor UID, Channel ID (different CID), a bootloader unlock flag, and IMEI. The CID is unique to each device, and controls several aspects of the device. This datablock has a signature on it so that your device information cannot be modified. Should you corrupt this partition, you will lose your IMEI, and the ability to unlock your bootloader. This is the only likely scenario in which you lost your IMEI. If you boot into your bootloader, you may see an error similar to
Code:
CID Datablock Error! 0xDEAD
otherwise I'm going to assume that is still intact. The IMEI has not been stored in the EFS for many years now. Check your CID on the device and make sure it's not 0xDEAD.
Hi, my wife has an iPhone 6S and I put her sim card into my sim slot and it still showed as no sim card after booting it up. Is there something else I can do? I am the first owner of this phone, I bought it from T-Mobile. I did try to go into the dialer and it force closes the app after I input *#06#.

Lol, no, I knew I shouldn't of put that she had a iPhone 6S, now I will never be helped. I am just saying that I used a different sim card to make sure that it wasn't the sim card that was messed up.

You can check by running the command
Code:
fastboot getvar all
in fastboot/bootloader mode.
You should see something like this:
Code:
(bootloader) cid: 0x00DE
(bootloader) channelid: 0x00
The CID should be 0x00DE if it is not corrupt.

Issue's resetting phone - Any alternative solutions?

Hey guys,
I bought a phone off of Craigslist and it appears that the phone is locked with a password. I tried to go through the bootloader and do a factory reset but I get a message that the MDM Does Not Allow Reset or something along those lines. I have also tried to use Odin to flash a stock recovery, that goes through successfully, but upon starting up the phone it appears that the password is still locked to the phone and nothing changed.
I tried calling the person who I purchased the phone from and there is no answer, so at this point I feel like I lost money and cant use the phone.
Please help

The above post is correct. Odin will be your only option, although keep in mind that "MDM" stands for Mobile Device Management, it's what large companies and schools use to manage devices remotely to install updates and such, kind of like Microsoft Active Directory . Did your Craigslist source seem a bit shady? Because if that phone is linked to a MDM account and it was stolen and currently turned on, it's very likely that someone is going to track it down using it's data connection and gps.

If the phone won't let you edit the apn, it's now sim locked. The only way to make it stick is to have it done by Sprint.. I called sprint and im on zve.. after they said it was unlocked on their end, I went to uicc unlock in settings. After clicking it, I got a toast saying I was sim unlocked. The ls991zve went from saying invalid sim to MetroPCS.. if you don't have the last sprint account info and if it wasn't active for 50+ days, my fix won't help. Also, it can't be blacklisted or it won't work.. I'm curious on if we are still getting marshmallow root..

Sometimes with msl u also have to disable itson setting
again guysim unlocked on zv6 so i dont know if this works for sure but with root u can switch it back and forth and get thye invalid sim notif
might try that then try apn settings
but either way if it works or not let me know and ill attempt to start a guide
If editing the APN isn't available after SIM unlock, then that means the unlock was done by an amateur who has no idea how to do it correctly.
When done correctly by an expert, the APN setting is fully accessible and editable, without any "shortcut" app needed.

Factory Reset, start configuring language, dont connect any WIFI or DATA and Next button after this the screen show Configuring Phone, press volume up + volume down - home button and button back, and Woola bypass the stupid activation
This is the method
Thanks guys, I managed to skip this step. I founded tutorial on youtube, but phone must be connected to WiFI, otherwise there is no skip option only back to connect.
I have another problem, now it says that SIM card is invalid. I cannot connect to mobile network. It seems it is SIM locked, but I used current SIM with this phone and had no problems. Do you know guys is there some possible way to unlock again this phone without root? Again, I cannot contact Sprint because I'm not their user.

you might be able to try some trusted 3rd party unlckers no way to downgrade either or brick will result to try inter nat rom so thats not an option either and problem with some 3rd party unlock companys is sprint still has apns greyed out so not able to mod them some have reported ok but basicly now its a monetary risk and in my opinion the device isnt really worth investing any cash into except for the camera no root methods are available beyond zv6 firmware no downgrade possible

you might look for sevice menu ## codes look for a setting that says itson and disable it may need msl code n wich is still obtainable throught sprint its hard work but i have done it many times
mayers unlock method sometimes requires manual diable of itson to get rid of invalid sim card notification
no root needed
I bringed my device in local service shop to unlock, but they returned phone more damaged. Device can't turn on and when I connect charger there is no charging indicator, nothing. When I connect phone to computer it is recognized as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008". Is there any solution to unbrick this phone? Any answer would help. Thanks!

I would take it back to said shop and raise hell they damaged it they need to replace it. What firmware were u on. It dont really matter. The firehose.bin for qfil to reflash fone doesnt work for g4. Unless someone has made a new one but i havent seen one yet. You might try lgs waranty. Claim to have bootlooped. Or something like that

Totally agree with you. But people are different.
I, too, have long ago discovered my telephone cemetery)
