I was reading the thread about the hack to be able to flash a ROM from another region onto your phone by changing some system registry values. Is it possible to use the Froyo 2.2 ROM from another region and the modem firmware from the released US 2.1 firmware package in order to flash a US T-mobile Vibrant phone and still have it function on the network, but be running the 2.2 OS? Would this work?
I believe that this version of 2.2 is only for the i9000 version of the galaxy s; the t-mobile version is T959.
I used ODIN to update my T-Mobile uk 2.1 phone to 2.2 from Samfirmware it works fine apart from one one of my games. Is it possible to downgrade it back to Official 2.1 for T-Mobile UK via Kies ??
Currently I have:
PDA I9000xxjpm
Phone: I9000xxjpm
CSCi9000oxajpm
Build info: 2010. 10
What Reg information do i need to get Kies 1.51 to think its T-Mobile Uk again and install stock 2.1 ROM on it ???
I'd like to know this too. Except I am on Carphone Warehouse 2.1 and deciding whether I want to go on the T-mobile software.
I installed the EURO firmware on my Rogers Galaxy Tab (Canada). I will return it, because I just got one as a gift. Will they find out I have the EURO firmware? If they find out, I will be in a lot of trouble... Is there any way to restore it to the original GSM fimware???
Should be in Q&A......
Hey all,
So I picked up my phone and unlocked the SIM. It's a Sony Xperia T (LT30a) and was originally on the Bell network. It's now running on the Rogers network.
I wondered if you still had to install CWM to switch from the bell stock rom to the rogers stock rom? It's running fine but I wouldn't mind making the switch if it's not too painful.
Thanks!
Hi Guys,
A friend of mine has bought a phone from eBay which is a converted developer edition phone and upgraded to the latest firmware/software. He lives in the UK, so will 4G/LTE work on the phone considering the developer edition has been flashed onto the phone, or can this simply be fixed by flashing a .401 firmware which will update the radio?
The phone is S-OFF, so if a new ROM needs to be flashed it can be done
Thanks
4g availability/coverage is always region specific. Has he tried the phone yet? If it works I would leave it alone. You could flash just the radio. But being that he is located in the UK and s-off, why not just flash a x.x.401.x ruu and be done with it. Especially if he has no plans to venture away from stock.
