Any time I flash non stock ROMs, any alarm clock I use, including stock, only plays one cycle of the alarm tone. Vibration continues and it works normally otherwise. Stock based ROMs work fine. I've tested this on AICP and Spirit ROM with the same result. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I've been happy with it, I've seen others complaining of double tap to wake issues but I think it's on other variants of our phone.

As of right now there are many roms being worked on. I'm currently running AOSPizza which is fast and stable.
My question is, what 4.2.2. rom seems the to the most stable and bug free? (Working data, camera+camcorder, GPS, etc.)
It is very hard to keep track when the roms are constantly being updated.
Thanks in advance!

They all run differently for different people. Not sure why. Might be Gapps, previous fastbooted stock rom, or *insert reason here*. You just have to try them all and see what you like. PAC, Carbon, and CM10.1 are updated daily, so they can differ from one release to the next....so my best advice is to pick one you like the features of and stay with it, find a stable-for-you version, and try the nightlies with a nandroid on hand if you need it.
I've tried a few, and I am back on stock now. All of the 4.2.2 roms have bugs that I can't live with (battery and bluetooth.)
I have heard there are some worth keeping, but for me it is too much work to keep flashing roms all the time.

Is there any reason besides bluetooth audio that you choose stock over one of the 4.1 roms?

4.2.2 battery life can be bad. I'm down to 79% with minimal use (checked 3 emails) flashed a rom, been off charger for 9 hours now. One of the biggest battery leeches is Maps -- Yesterday it had 779 wakelock interrupts in a 6 hour period -- means it took my phone out of deep sleep for a second over 100 times every hour. Greenify seems to be helping but I need to do more testing with it. Oh, and disabled Greenify for Maps and had 37 wakelock interrupts in 14 minutes....Sometimes I wonder if its not Maps but the Google Now weather panel making Maps do GPS calls for updated location info for weather. My battery wasn't near as bad till I started using the Now widget over cLock weather panel.

The pizza rom was great, but didn't allow me to use Google Voice as my voicemail.
The Mexico rom was okay, but it was missing something that i needed.
I quit flashing, it is too much hassle to set up everything.

Well i dont have that issue you are saying. But try restoring your APN to default settings and use.
Make sure you save before exit. It should work then.
:good::good:
I check this also - no issue. Check the saving as meantioned above.
Incredibly Tapatalked!

Although with many bugs at present I like this rom, for me the top 3 problem that really have impact on daily usage is root, WiFi and ringtone.
Anyway, thanks Sezeso for his great job!:good:

To gain root access you just need to flash SuperSu for 4.2 or 4.3. When I was using 4.3 I had no problems with Wifi.
Yea the wifi got fixed.
Press "thanks" if I helped you out!
root, WiFi solved!

and now look at second post and you'll see a full list of bugs present at latest build.
here they are:
# Capacitive buttons brightness bug: button's brightness is no longer changed when changing screen brightness - it always stays at max. Perhaps it's a side-effect of CM introducing new feature - controlling time-out of button's light
# Wi-fi on screen-off bug: when screen is turned off, wi-fi activity halts. I.e. if you download something through wi-fi and turn off display, then download will stop as well (actually it will continue through 3G, if available). Disregards setting about wi-fi mode with disabled screen. 3g continues to work with screen off without any issues. This bug was present in 10.1 as well and, perhaps, in 10.0 too.
# Flashlight bug: turns off, when screen is turned off.
# CRT-Off animation bug: screen turns off BEFORE playing CRT animation, while it should happen at the same time. Results in max brightness CRT-off animation.
# Green tint in camera bug: when taking photos through stock camera app in portrait mode, it will show green tint on "snap photo" animation. Actual photo is fine. Landscape mode works properly.
# Root access bug: It's not always possible to get Root access, even if all proper steps were taken.
# Failure to wake up from deep sleep bug: not really traceable. Happens randomly. Phone fails to wake up from deep sleep sometimes. It may happen when it's charging or just when it's idling on the desk, still, the bug appears regularly every few weeks. Might be caused by some voltage tweaks in kernel.

I have this serious problem. The alarm doesn't sound in the morning( more than 6 hours) However if I set it for 2 hours it triggers! I currently have tony's latest cm10.1 with kelnel 126. You must know that I have tried all most recent cm10 with various kernels. Then I switched to official cm10.1( old boot). Then I tried cm10.1 tony old boot then new boot with no results. Between changes I formatted system, cache etc. Do you have this issue? It's the settings to blame? I'll be reading this post all day.
Yeah, its normal, a lot of O2X users have come late to work/school because of our phone's alarm hehe.
Anyway, charger must be plugged for alarm to be triggered.
If charger isn't plugged, the phone won't wake from deep sleep.
Even on stock ICS alarm won't hit unless you have stock LG kernel installed. That's all I know I'm afraid.

Every rom?! I remember cm10 roms in january or february had no such problems. (Why did I upgrade...) Can you all tell me what rom kernel combo ( cm10 or 10.1) has a working alarm? It's frustrating to have an expensive phone without the second most importatnt feature disabled.

i use v30b germany baseband, and tonyp exp opt build ( lastone ) ,when i want to charge phone ( without bsod) i enable second core plug, when i want alarm to work i disable second core plug ( it will be fixed in next release of pegasus kernel
I flashed latest stable kernel m1 and still no alarm This morning when I unlocked, the alarm just disappeared from the notification bar. Previously it rang at least... What works for you? Please tell me. I don't wanna keep the phone charged all night. Is it related to baseband?

I did. Still no alarm this morning. It rang when I unlocked it. I think goes into a deeper sleep than usual. I will try to format card and install a new rom.
should we freeze (or even uninstall) the clock & clock alarms apps if we use Timely? anyone tried that?
i'm not sure if those 2 apps are connected with anything else in the system besides stock clock/alarms...
Are there no alarm issues using timely?
I had moved from official ICS to Tony's CM 10.2 without re-partition, and alarm worked. Then I bricked my device and reformatted everything using AIOT. Now no alarm. I wonder if there is any connection.
Also, how about one of the experts here comparing logs from devices with working alarm and non working alarm.
so far, no issue with Timely here...
i have disabled the stock clock-alarms app with Titanium... (don't disable clock.apk because it will mess up the lockscreen clock )
Hi everyone,
I'm on Ivan's AOSP Lollipop and it works great! It's stable and good for everyday use, I haven't found many bugs except the alarm not working and not ringing.
Since I use my phone to wake up every morning that's an important issue. I tried to install Timely from playstore and other alarm APPs but they don't work. They just ring if I use the phone a little bit before the alarm, but it seems like if the phone isn't used for awhile the alarm won't ring and it will just when I'll use the phone again.
Someone knows what's the problem and how to solve it?
Thanks

Hi,
If you really want to stay with Lollipop, I would suggest you to try M1cha's CM12, it seems that there no issue at all with alarm with this ROM. BUT, be aware that this ROM is still under testing and not completely stable.
If you really want something stable and tested, then go with CM11, Ivan's AOSP Kitkat,or even sMiui if you prefer the Miui interface.

Actually I'm now on M1cha's unofficial CM12(20150218) and stuned by its incredible stability. So nice. Everything works just fine.
BTW I PMed Ivan in Chinese MIUI forum, but it seems that he won't sustain his MI2 lollipop work. Lots of guys in mi2 forum are saying good bye to him, Whatever. Thanks for his brilliant work.

Thanks for your help and suggestion! I tried m1cha's cm12 but I didn't have the same opinion of you guys. It wasn't stable and I found a lot of problems that weren't on Ivan's ROM.
I use Ivan's build since december. no bugs on alarm clock found, my phone wakes me up every morning [but alarm clock doesn't work if phone's shut down].
the only bugs I've found are:
- no wireless tethering [other devices connects to the phone, but internet is unavaiable]
- bluetooth stack is fragile
Ivan's work is extremely precious
p.s.:
xposed is working flawlessly on AOSP, but cannot make it work on CM12.
My mi5 does not work the phsycal buttons to go back and recent apps but the incredible thing is that when I connect my cell phone in the charger, the buttons work normally, only out of the socket it does not work the recent app buttons and back, only the home button works In any situation, remark, this only occurs in AOSP roms, do you have any solution?

Download AIDA64 from the Play Store. It will list your phone specs including the display panel type. If "lgd" is next to display then you know it's an LG panel which is famous for not working properly on custom ROMs due to outdated sources.
