Is there a way to stop this? I'm rooted, and running v1.8 of extreme debloat.
I checked the wifi settings and there is no option to stop auto connect of ATTWiFi.

Need some advice before modifying my device

Hi all, This is my first post at XDA so please kindly correct me if there are something wrong.
I have purchased SSGS around 3 week ago and found that there are some minor problem with my device. The phone still usable but some of these problem are quite annoy. Below are some problem with my device.
1.) There are some lag when opening/closing apps
2.) If I turn on "Use wireless network" in Location setting sometime my Wifi automatic turn itself on and fail to automatically turn off (The wifi status at notification bar turn green and said "turning off" forever and the only solution i get is to restart)
3.) After restart sometime my EDGE connection will not working properly (the "E" symbol is appear at notification bar but the data is not flow, can not connect to the internet) the solution is to restart again or connect to Wifi network that can access to internet and then turn the wifi off.
4.) GPS seem to be very slow.
5.) When turning off Wifi sometime EDGE connection is not auto reconnect (need to turn on and off flight mode to reconnect the EDGE)
After reading this forum for some time. I decide to try to solve those problem permanently however I would like to have some advice from all of you who have experience first.
My device is running on Asian stock firmware I9000DXJF4 and already rooted. Below are my plan for modifying and also some question.
1.) Backing up all of my apps and data. Which backup apps should I use? Titanium backup?
2.) Flash to European firmware via ODIN. Which firmware is the most stable JG5, JM2 or I should advance to Froyo JP2? Are there any problem flashing from Asian to European firmware?
3.) Rooted and installed busybox
4.) Restore my apps and data. After restore, my apps still be able to updated via market or not? Especially some paid apps
5.) Apply Mimocon's Lag fix.
Does above procedure seem to be ok? Am I forgot something?
Thank in advance for your advice

I have this problem too. I'm on stock XXJF3(?) firmware. I'm thinking about switching to XXJP3 froyo firmware.
I have read some where around here that this problem have been fix in new firmware but my problem now is that I don't know which one should be used.

[Q] Prevent wifi from sleeping

How to prevent wifi from sleeping?
I have a few apps that have the permission of "prevent phone from sleeping" but seems the phone will still switch off the wifi soon after the screen timed out. Is it supposed to work like this, or is there some settings for this?
one of the apps i tried is "wireless file transfer lite", which by the way, is a very light wifi transfer tool between phone and pc
Wifi settings > menu button, advanced > Wifi sleep policy.
ha! didn't know there is advanced setting.
many thanks!

[Q] Wireless Storage issues with stock KK update. Can anyone help?

I'm running stock rooted with xposed. I waited a while before updating to make sure there wouldn't be any major issues with the update to KK. I uninstalled xposed and had to undo the hotspot hack to get the update to take but it worked after I replaced the files. I installed the new hotspot hack and re-installed xposed and every thing works fine or better except for the wireless storage feature.
Wireless storage shows that it's always on. It's not, but the icon in the quick settings stays lit blue and if I go into "share & connect" in the settings it always shows that wireless storage is switched on even when It's not. When I go into "wireless storage" from the "share & connect" page it shows the true status of my wireless storage (off).
Also, I cannot turn on wireless storage from the quick settings anymore. I also can't turn it on from the switch in the "share & connect" settings page either. I have to go into "wireless storage" from the "share & connect" page and then flip the switch at the top to turn it on.
After I actually turn on wireless storage I cannot turn it off from any of the three switches that exist in the UI. I have to reboot the phone to get it to turn off.
Is anyone else getting this issue? Also does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this issue?
Thanks.

WiFi HotSpot - Won't Toggle w/3rd Party Apps

So I'm a big Tasker user and I use a 7" Android Tablet in my car as my "infotainment system." I have a Tasker profile that when connected to my Car's Bluetooth, turns on Wifi Hotspot and upon disconnection, turns off Wifi hotspot. I noticed that HotSpot was turning on without a problem, but not turning off.
I also have a Widget Button to toggle WiFi Hotspot on/off. Again, it will turn it on, but it doesn't turn it off. As a test, I also used the app Llama and added an action to turn Wifi Hotspot on and another to turn it off. Again, it was able to turn it on with no problem, but when trying to execute the "off" it gave me the error message "WiFiAccessPoint may not be supported by your phone."
This is really annoying since the only other way to turn it off is to go into phone settings, then More, then Wifi Hotspot, then untick "Hotspot" to turn it off.
Besides wondering if this is working on anyone else's phone, I'm wondering if anyone knows where to write or post such bugs for the Moto programmers to see...
FYI - So I found another bug related to this same issue. Besides 3rd Party Apps (Tasker, Widgetsoid, Llam, basically any app that toggles settings) not being able to turn WiFi off, IF they are used to turn it on then turning it off inside settings will not automatically turn Wifi back on as it should.
If you turn HotSpot on via the Moto HotSpot settings then turning it off will automatically cause wifi to turn back on.
Hoping Moto fixes this issue and allows full toggling of HotSpot via 3rd Party apps as this is really killing my automated in-car hotspot.

How to Schedule Auto Sync when device is sleeping and Wifi Off ?

I have been looking for internet all these days, everywhere to autosync my device when device is sleeping and wifi is off but couldnt find any working solution as yet.
Tasker should turn on wifi, auto sync then turn auto sync off and wifi. I tried all that I could, but not working.
Anyone can help me with this over here ?
I do have a working autosync profile but for me in order to get it to work, I needed synker and secure settings, because Taskers WiFi action does not always work. If you would like me to share it with you, let me know.
It also takes other things into account as well.
I do have secure settings already. Do share how you do it given your device is sleeping and even WiFi is turned off
OK you can download my profile here, since it would be better, rather than explaining it.

I need synker with this ?
Thats correct. But you can try taskers sync option.
Hi, I tried this profile, unfortunately its turning on my data when I am home and Wifi is available. Though I am not sure if its turning on my Wifi while its turned off, I would want to ensure my data stays off. What are the changes I need to make ?
If you wish to remove the mobile data aspect of it altogether you will need to delete, all actions from 9 to 15, then add stop and add end if at then end of the task.
Also it does check to see if wifi is off first and if it is, it will switch it on.
My WiFi is on, but I ensure when screen is off, Wifi stays disabled. And for some reason its not turning back the WiFi when screen is Off. Dont know why
Unfortunately I am in the same boat at the moment, and I have not found anything to resolve this.
I also started my own thread some time ago about it, but I haven't had anyone give me an answer to solve it nor suggest what could cause it.
@ProudRed
UPDATE: I think I might know what the problem is, I have added wake device command at the beginning of my task, via plugin called secure settings > actions > wake device. I will find out tomorrow if this actually works.
I can confirm that adding the plugin > secure settings > actions > Wake device, solves the problem for me. Apparently you shouldn't need this if you adhere to this page http://tasker.dinglisch.net/userguide/en/androidpowermanagement.html
But for some reason it still does not work for me even if I whitelist tasker and it's plugins from 3rd party battery saving apps like amplify or powernap.
The issue I am having is with connecting the wifi, its getting connected but gets disconnected after 5-10 seconds. I have even tried ensuring that screen keeps on for 2 minutes, even after that Wifi is getting disconnected. Can I have an working profile from you without the mobile data part ? May be I am doing something wrong.
