Hello ...
Ok, I made a big bull****:
I was trying to restore /system in cwm and it wasn't working (error). Then I tried to format before making it and no success.
And then I rebooted ! And obviously I lost the recoveries.
I'm now with a nice SONY logo and red light
What do I do ? Any tuto ?
My bootloader is locked
thanks
An other problem is that it does not want to turn off. The battery will end ... [ok, it's off now, very long press to reset button]
Also, I had to made a restore after a bootloop. And the bootloop ocurred after a very few modifications in /system:
- in build.prop : hdmi.enable=0
- 1 app added
So, is it possible that this option in build.prop cause a bootloop ?
After writing to /system I take care to make a "sync" command and to put back partition in read-only, so I don't think it was due do a FS corruption.
Any tip about this ?
And is there a way to restore only /system from flashboot ?
But I'm using 207 firmware and there is no .tft file ....
help please !
If someone can answer my question here, it's related ...

Push the button behind the phone with a pencil during 3-5 sec and there are 3 vibrations
Then put your device into flashmode and flash the ftf

Ok, My phone is running again.
Thank you guys !
You can use PC Companion too. It will flash your very stock and latest (if any) firmware on your phone. You can make your own FTF file too.

1- boot in recovery
2- backup phone and reboot
3- backup everything using titanium backup
4- transfer all backup from internal memory to sd card
5- Eject sd card
6- performed a wipe and factory reset from settings
7- reboot and configure apn and accounts
8- reinstall superuser then titanium backup apps

Of course... But first, you need to charge your phone.
Follow this tutorial, it should bring back your Z to life.
Here you can find the ftf you need.
Just be sure you have the C6603.

I have tried and unfortunatley no success
Everything runs well until when the phone has to be connected to the PC while holding the Vol Down Button.
Then the Device seems to be connected and after a while it deconnects and restart itself and locked at the Sony Logo.
Then the flashtool recongnises it as disconnected
:crying:
Any other test I may perform ?
Thanks for your patience and support

Have you tried restarting your pc and see if it works? Don't open PC Companion or any of the other Sony software.
Are you connecting the device powered off and holding vol down?

Thanks for the advice.
Does it takes long cause I stayed like 4-5 mins by holding it without seing any progress bar and soon I unpress it the phone restart by itself and back again at the Sony logo.
To switch it off again I have to hold Power + Vol Up and Down during 5-10 sec until it vibes 3 times.
Is it the right process ?
Just fyi, your main cause of this is most likely when you tried restoring the apps.
Do not try to restore them with titanium backup Or cwm if you are moving from one rom to another etc... To avoid any issues like this one.
Backup and restore using whatever the app provides. Their files are usually located internally. ( just drag it to your comp)
Before starting flashtool, hit the arrow icon (where more hidden programs are running) you may find pcc or sus running sometimes after you reboot your computer.
Find the right ftf file, make sure you are using the most updated flashtool.
Good luck man.

Not saying you can't, but why should you have to rehash information they could have found themselves, but I guess this is what xda has become these days.

Ok, here´s the process:
Start flashtool, select the ftf and start the process... Flashtool will say Preparing Files for Flashing. Then, a window will prompt and tell you to put your device in flashmode.
With you phone turned off and unplugged, leave vol down pressed and connect it to pc until the window disappear, that's the moment you release vol down button and flashing process should start.
Add to that I don't know did you do this yet but I'll mention it anyway:
Before you start flashtool
1- go to settings of your device > developers option (enable it) scroll down and check usb debugging.
2- not sure if you need to do this but might as well cause I do it all the time. Phone settings > security > check unknown sources.
Go ahead and start flashtool and follow the instructions before this post

By not being alone I kept the head out of the water and finally succeed.
To make it short, it seems that the FTF file was a kind of corrupted (unable to check the MD5 Sum cause not provided), nevertheless I download another FTF file from another country (I selected UK as I can easely read UK than others languages) then on the second attempt it finally went well.
I do not know the effect of flashing another country Stock firmware yet, but I think as for the cooked rom it does not creates big issues.
Thanks again to supporting me on this tricky situation.
And as promoised after this answer, I will write down what I have performed.

Thanks for your answer, As I was blocked on the start of the phone, it was not possibe at the time being to change the settings (perhaps I were Lucky cause these settings were as you proposed before my issue happened).
I will learn more on the SUS and SPCC as I do not know so much on the Sony tech and apps. (Was an HTC addict for years until this one XZ appears and make me change).

and z1 now is dead .. just red led when i connect it to pc

any solution please ?? :crying:
Nope, it's properly bricked
Sony will know this since minute one
I sometimes imagine their staff at how they read this forum and laugh their asses off...
Even if they replace the phone it is simpler for them to replace the phone than to investigate the issue )
Do someone on this forum even thinks that if sony whant's to find out the cause of a phone's brick they cannot ? They are finding the exact cause of microchip failing and the causes and they are not finding the cause for a simple partition with wrong data that should never fail on a memory that it is OK?
Plus they have signs, on a hard brick i understand that it will double flash the red led ) (did someone thought that they MADE the red flash for this simple reason? to know when the phone has been tampered with?)
@Killer2k8 even if Sony do so, You made a mistake with your phone and there is no way to resurrect it, or it was a gift from somebody from your family or you spend half of your salary, and you bricked the phone just to get root, the last chance is to play Stupid. (and I don't advice nobody to break the law)

Ask help on the guys from SETools. Ask them to help you locate the testpoint of your device(you need to open the back portion of your device for this though). Once you find it you're lucky then... Get a linux OS on your PC, mount your phone's partition and flash back the correct TA partition. Although yea the level of difficulty on this process is "Expert level" so good luck.
My explanation is just simple but I tell you it's alot harder when you do it.

I'd say that you would need to send it off for repair, sounds like a brick, i'd say that they'll do a straight swap for a new device.

Hello everyone, firstly I need to say I am a noob in mobiles. Yesterday I finally decided to try Lollipop 5.1.1 but didnt like it so I was searching for way to downgrade back to Kitkat 4.4.4. I found this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706 and this german stock firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57513425&postcount=248 and I was following all the steps. After Flashtool finished its job I unplugged and turned the phone ON. The logo appeared and then the blue starting screen appeared which after a few a while froze for a second and after that it was again LOGO which appeared and again blue starting screen and so on - its like neverending circle. So somehow managed to turn the phone OFF via volume UP and power button I guess but I have no clue what to do. Please I have never done this before, the guide says its also for begginers and I was following every single step but something went wrong.... What to do please?
-device is NOT rooted
- bootloader is NOT unlocked (everything is stock)
Should I try to flash another 4.4.4 firmware?
Looks like a bootloop. Try to download another firmware (maybe that u have downloaded is corrupted or something) for your's phone and flash it again.
You can try "23.0.1.A.5.77 - Unbranded - CE1 [Central Europe] (1288-7915)".

First i tried the latest version which is ( flashtool-0.9.23.0-windows.exe ) but gave me a problem. the problem is it was not detecting the ROMS that i put in the firmware folder.I tried two computers even i formated and installed windows 7 on one of the PC and tried from scratch but again not detecting those ROMs. And then one of the xda's good hearted guy like you told me to use old version of the flashtool.
So i used old version ( flashtool-0.9.21.0-windows.exe ) this time it went smooth and the flash tool detected those ROMs and i tried flashing multiple times and no problem at all.
Off topic: is it true that the Xperia devices dont have the recovery by default, I mean we can only use recovery option if we flashed twrp or cwm...???

Speaking of going back to an older version, I think you may need to roll back to v0.9.18, before the FSC method is ever introduced. In that case, for the devices which doesnt have an available FSC script (like Xperia Z), can have a better treatment.
OT: No phone can have no recovery my friend, it is only that the stock one doesnt come with a user interface and you cannot access it through button combination when boot.

My Google Maps was acting up (as if it had no GPS signal) so I decided to uninstall it and try installing the app again. What a bad decision! The phone turned off half way thru the app removal and now it only shows the Android welcoming screen and a triangle warning. I can't figure out a way to get it back to properly boot.
I've tried the following:
- removed SIM
- removed SD card
- hold POWER & volume UP
- hold POWER & volume DOWN
If I try to turn it on, it will show Android screen then triangle warning then android screen and back to triangle as if in a loop - is this what a bootloop means? Oh geez...
The phone was completely stock FW with Sony updates, so whatever is the latest updates from Sony, the phone has it.
Does anyone know what is happening and how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Reflash a system.sin, that should get it going again.
FYI for anyone coming across this problem i down the road : I could not figure out what /how to do the system.sin but I was able to run the Xperia Companion and repair the phone. I basically downloaded the Xperia Companion from Sony website, run the repair tool, connected the phone and followed the instructions.
It erased all settings and apps though, which I understood it would've happened but I assumed Sony had my backup online. Apparently not so I will need to work on it.
Good luck!

Had you of asked I would have said use Newflasher, which would have simply reflashed the system keeping all your data intact. PC Companion should be a last resort, but even then I prefer the Flashtool or Newflasher.

Really, huh? A little late for that, isn't it?
Now let me ask you this here: did it sound from my previous post that I knew anything about system.sin, flashtool or newflasher? I guarantee you that I didn't know then and I still don't know now. And that is on me, no questions about that. So why pretend you tried to help? Had you tried to actually help, perhaps you would've said something else .

I did try to help, I told you what to do but you thought it best not to ask any questions about what I posted on this developer forum and did your own thing, which yes, is on you, and losing data by not seeking to learn more about what was posted, is a harsh lesson to learn.
So there, all there of your questions answered, just a shame you didn't think to ask the right ones before losing your data.

These days, the only thing I'm looking for is to help (and continue to learn). I joined this site as a newb looking to modify an X10, and since then I've learnt how to modify every device you see listed in my sig, and have done so by continuing right up until the present day by asking questions. I've helped countless amount of people, contributed where I can, and will continue to do so. But if you (or anyone) wants to be arsy or argumentative, I can do that too. :good:
