Hi there, I need some insight on this issue.
My M7 HTC One is giving me a slow charge notification with all my usb cords and wall adapters. I did a full reset with no success. Now I replaced the screen on my HTC One because it was cracked. I have it almost completely reassembled except for putting the back case on.
Now my thinking its I might of damaged the USB dock board in the phone when opening it up but it appears to be fine along with the battery. I'm ordering a new dock connector for the phone but do you think it could also be the battery that should be replaced as well? Not sure what else would give a slow charge notification other than the USB board...
Thanks in advance!

For a few days my phone hasn't been charging, and at first I thought it was a problem with the battery, but having bought a new one I've realised that when I tilted the charger to the left it would charge, but when it's just left it wouldn't, so I guess a bit of a miss-alignment.
Anyone got any ideas how I can fix this problem?
Cheers, nathaniel
try another cable and make sure it's the one that came with the phone. you should have a usb one and a ac adapter. if both are like that then you need to warranty it out.
Yeah, Ive tried it with the USB cable and the charger, I got the same result. Is there no quick fix, I'm going abroad in 9 days and quite need my phone...
There are a few discussions on bad USB connectors in these forums -- searching might provide some things to try.
From what I can remember, it's possible the pins in the connector (on the phone side) might be bent out of place -- you might want to inspect them with a magnifying glass and try to carefully bend them back if any seem out of place.
It's also possible that the connector itself is broken -- in which case you're looking at a service call.
this seems like the problem i faced. i was also facing the same problem and i read the forums here and found it as a usb port issue. so i slightly bent the usb port so that the contacts are aligned and then it started charging
Hey I would also recommend trying a new a new charger again because I have had my share of faulty chargers. Last time I had a problem charging was with a brand new cable that did not work right at the box from At&T and thought it was my battery until i tried another charger that worked. I would suggest trying the charger that is not working on another phone and see if its actually the charger or if it is your phone that is not working.

I think it is to do with the pins in the connector.
I had a search but I'm not very good on forums and I can't find anything of any use. Does anyone have a link?
Just look at the last few pages of topics, you should find something... there are threads about broken USB at least once a week.
One common conclusion is to avoid using USB cables other than the supplied one as their
plugs are a little thicker and tend to deform the phone's plug over time (I admit I always use others though, and as a result do sometimes need to wiggle the cable a tad and not move anything anymore once the connection is established... ).
I once dismounted my Hermes and tightened the plug back a bit, it helped, I've never done it with my Kaiser yet though. If you're not used to dismantling and fixing devices I'd recommend returning it for repair indeed.
I had a the opposite happen, it would charge but no data connection with my pc. If you look at your extUSB port on your phone, see if the black plastic tab is cracked (which was my case) or if the pins are shifted. whatever the issue, its obviously hardware related, take it to an At&t service center tell them whats wrong and if your in warranty they'll change it on the spot.

He got the same result using his USB cable so that would rule out the charger.

Im in England, took it to the T-Mobile shop, the service was rubish and without even looking at it they send I should send it off which would take 2 weeks. There is a crack in the black plastic tab
Hi,
I recently purchased a broken HTC One very cheep and I'm trying to fix it because I can't afford a working one.
I've tried all the possibilities in this thread:

Did not work. It is stone dead. What worries me is that the mainboard is fried, because it is not detected by my computer either. Could it be that the USB flex is broken and/or the battery is completely drained? What would you recommend me to do? Disassemble the batter and try to charge it externally?
The charger nor the phone does not heat up while plugged in (I'm using an original charger with good cables, works well with another phone)
Would appreciate any suggests as I'm running out of hope here :'(
Thank you!
My htc one m7 started getting trouble charging a while ago. The USB cable had to be just in the right angle, sometimes it would drain battery with charger connected. I figured the charging port was broken and took it to a repair center. I got the charging port replaced and while the phone was opened up, got a new battery as well.
Today I got my phone back and a number of strange things are going on:
The phone will not charge when turned on. It does charge when it's off but with a short interruption about every minute.
I have a car charger with an LED indicator that lights up when it's plugged in to the car lighter plug. I can pull it out of the car and connect it with a USB cable to my phone and the LED will go on.
When I make a phone call the call will start on speaker mode. I have to tap the speaker icon to go back to the normal handset mode.
Especially the second one is very odd. Apparently the phone is providing energy over the USB port. Could be something related to USB otg functionality though. Has anyone experienced something similar before?
Do you guys think I can solve this with through software or is it something that can only be fixed by taking it back to the repair center?
Update: I just tried factory resetting and flashing an RUU. Neither of them had any effect on this behaviour. Anyone got a clue what could be the problem?
So I ordered a new back for my Nexus 6 because my previous one was peeling off (I've replaced it before) and in the process of changing it today, the ribbon cable running from the mobo to the little connector that attaches it to the volume and power button ribbon cable ripped in half.
I was able to fiddle with it until I could turn the device back on but I can't repair it (unless someone knows how to temporarily connected a torn ribbon cable).
Anyhow, I can order one relatively cheap no problem but it won't be here for a week. Without that cable, the phone doesn't seem to charge. The battery indicator (I'm using CyanogenMod 13) shows that it's charging but it doesn't and if I go into the battery settings it says "Not Charging".
So, I may have to go back to my Nexus 4 for a bit but I was wondering if anyone on here might have access to one of these cables (http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/images/g/BpIAAOSwZ1lWd8H7/s-l225.jpg) in or near Canada that I could pay to ship it here really quickly.
My replacement battery (looks the exact same, may be a generic product, though) worked fine for a few days, but then the phone started saying: "Battery can't charge right now," and the batter level just stayed the same with the cable connected. I tried various cables and adapters; the situation didn't change. I read that maybe a missing temperature sensor could be the issue. Does anybody have experience related to the issue?

Battery and rom are probably not the problem, i've solved this with replacement of USB C charging port in the phone.
I repeated the process with the same battery, and I haven't had problems in over a year. just took it out, put it back in, and that settled it.
why you replaced the battery, battery dead ?
what are the symptoms ?
because my phone is restarting itself , while charging it shows 90 percent and so on, its on when charger plugged in and if unplug it will stay on for few min and if i open app or camera it start reboot
I've had the same problem
I've replaced battery with an aliexpress one but after some charges problem came back and I think the problem was about I was charging my phone with the wrong charger (was using the Aukey QC3.0), so I've started to charge my phone only with the genuine charger but with another USB-C cable because the genuine one sucks.
After using the genuine charger the problem never came back and I left the genuine battery on It.
I've noticed that the USB-C port on my phone miss the original standard measures of height and width of the hole, so when I plug the cable It plays a little in the port and this is the cause I don't use the genuine cable.
Guy guys guys...
The answer is simple ^^ (ok not really )
Clean your USB C charging port of your phone... that fixed 3 to 4 times my charging issues, sadly after I had bought several cables /batteries...
So first think you must do before checking any other thing... is getting all the crap that the USB C charging entry point has after so many years/months of usage... it gets quite dirty.
