BlackTphone alike ROM ? - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hello,
I'm searching the forum a BlackTphone alike ROM for my T.
Every ROM I can find seems already screwed by Google (apps or settings or...)
Does anyone know a ROM that could grant maximum privacy? No Facebook craps, no Google account, no Google store, no Google craps...

I also searching this kind of Rom for Xperia V.
I also try installing ROM without Gapps, and manually download apps, but some app did not worked as it should be.

Privacy matters are under the spotlight nowadays, many scandals, many papers about Google/Facebook/Yahoo sucking all your private infos, but nobody seems to care.
I haven't found a topic about how to protect themselves from Google / Facebook ...
Compile a ROM based on Cyanogen and fueled by a parallel market, protect information by following the two others links in the first post should not be very complicated
I don't understand.

[Q] Evervolv Kitkat Calendar

Hit there,
since i am not allowed to post in development part of the forums yet, i will ask my question here:
i've installed evervolvs kitkat image (very very awesome work (can't stress that enough!)).
runs good, even with 3g i'm not having many problems.
but i am missing the standard calendar application and i am wondering where to get it ?
In the 4.3 and 4.2 Images there always was a cal application and i'm just wondering where it went.
thanks for any answer!
From Google Play Store install Google calendar
Read the OP it's write there about calendar....
i think you need to flash google apps for calendar & other google services, or download...
My suggestion would be download it from the store if you have it - I'm not sure whether the core GAPPS package includes it or not though the standard package certainly would. It's the Google Calendar application on the play store.

google apps without the whole google play services ?

Hi XDA,
Until last night, my phone was almost a brick ! It was impossible for me to use keyboard, start a game, watch a video, or even answer a call !!! What a pity ! :crying:
I looked into it to find the source of the problem.
I deleted some apps, made some space on internal memory (who knows ?), I converted some updated system apps, to put it back in system partition using Link2SD.
I did it with [email protected]#!$%G google play services and, I lost the app during the process (it happens sometimes, especially with google PS)
I restarted my phone and surprise The brick became a rocket :victory: my phone is no longer lagging as before !!! So, I tried to find why. It was google play services. It is no longer installed on the phone since Link2SD "lost" it.
Now, I have another problem : I can no longer open google apps. I only use the store, youtube, maps, and the contact sync service. :good:
So, here is my question : Is it possible to get rid of google play services without getting rid of associated apps like youtube, or store (others are very easy to change)

Google play services is a mandatory part of GApps, it's included in all variants of GApps.
You can use pico GApps if you want the basic stuffs. Or you can use the ROM without any GApps at all of you prefer.
And don't freeze or remove any apps if you don't know what it does.
OK.
I may put too much Smiley's in my first message...
I already know about gapps. My question is not about how much gapps I want on my phone, but how to still use it without gplay service.
This is the only apps that "need" another app to launch !! I don't need a Facebook play service to use Facebook or messenger apps ! Do you !?
So why gplay service is so important to launch apps !? It don't seems to be an all launcher.. It is not an account manager..
So waiting for a real answer, I started to look at aptoide to replace play store, because I know my question has poor chance to be answered.
I think I'm going to dive again in my YouTube & VLC RSS project to continue receiving updates from channels I follow without any YouTube app to run.
OK so if it actually works great on every others phones and I am the only one to have troubles with Google services feel free to tell me.
Don't worry about me freezing apps, I exactly know what I can freeze.

There is an Xposed module but unfortunately I dont remember its name. It could allow you to use Google apps without google play services.

Hi !
Thanks for this useful answer. I was on the dev's thread yesterday. Unfortunately, it does not work with every apps. Still, its a useful module.
I'll put a link once I'm at home...

YES !!
Take a look at here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-app-run-google-play-services-1-0-t3054115
But it can't run every apps.
I'm surprised about this subject. I am not a developer, but if I were, I would try to create a tweak, an app, a module, I don't know something that could help people not to use Google play services app.

Living without PlayStore

So... I've searched for a similar thread, but I didn't found any so I decided to make a new one.
As I don't want to use any google services on my telephone I had to purge Play Store also. I've searched for alternatives. I came across Fdroid - actually the store I've searched for. The only problem I've faced is there are no proprietary apps. I try to reject using of proprietary software as much as possible, but many of my friends use proprietary chat apps like WhatsApp, Viber etc.
So I've searched a solution to get this proprietary apps without much tricks...just keep it simple. I came across Aptoid - another android store, but I didn't liked the idea behind very well - you can find lots cracked apps etc. and that is not what I am looking for. Second point is - all apps are outdated - so you are missing the new version of the apps and their security and performance fixes. It didn't suited my needs so I decided to purge Aptoide.
So... after a bit of research I founded another two solutions:
APKmirror - it is a website - there is no app for it. So If you want to use it you have to go to the website and download and install .apk manually (you also need to enable Untrusted Sources in your security settings). The website has very nice interface and it looks exactly as a normal appstore. I've bookmarked it and placed it on my homescreen - so it is usable - no pain in the *** at all. The packages seems to be "trusted" as the packet signature is checked with the one of the original developer. All apps are updated - you can even download beta versions (before they hit PlayStore) and if it goes wrong... you can easily downgrade to previous verions - very nice feature. This site is related to Android Police - as it is a good source in my opinion, I think the packages there are trust-able. Is there anyone who has additional info about APKmirror?
APKpure - the second solution I came across. I wasn't able to find any additional information about this source or any review so I really have no idea who is standing behind this project. Anyway... I downloaded several apps and I checked the app signature and it seems fine - every app I checked matched the original signature of the developer. There are also "Trusted" marks same as APKmirror. All of the apps are updated. It looks pretty much like APKmirror - there is no app, just website. You can easily update your applications too so it suit all my needs. Anyway... I would like to get some additional information about it... it seems to me like mirror of PlayStore but... anyone who knows more maybe?
Apkpure has a app that you can download. Just have to watch certain apps such as play games will update to the 038 version when I am completely updated to the 030 version in the play store. Apkmirror describes this on their website when you download certain apps. Just though you should know about the app.
One thing I miss Fromm the Google play store is Google games for backup of games data and achievements. When cyanogen finishes partnership with the social gaming network, play games or whatever it's called, I'll hopefully be able to get away from the Google play store. Course devs would have to enable those servers for achievements etc, which is a long shot. Till then helium is my best friend I guess.

Google Free Android

Hello guys.
I've been thinking about that quite long time, but I could not just give up on Google straight away.
I relay on my privacy and I don't want Google to store any data about what I'm doing and make give myself more privacy. And also better Battery life and sot on one charge.
I know, I still can be easily located bla bla bla. But I think it's a good step, better than non.
I'm already using duckduckgo search browser and I need to say that I don't miss Google at all, I was surprised how good it is.
Instead of Google maps I will use Nokia Here, it seems to be quite good choice.
I found out that Nova launcher works without Google service framework.
And... F-Droid will be as a my "Google play Store".
But first I need to flash good rom, so which OS rom will be the best with some useful preinstaled appsand and which will support xposed of course, so it needs to be Android 6.
Thank you.
Edit:
Just realised that I posted in wrong section. This post can be deleted.
Posting that to different forums wont help you any further. There is only ONE Android version you might find what you ask for and that https://www.replicant.us/ which is badly outdated due to the fact that they dont even allow binary blobs in there. So whatever you do, you have Google, Apple or Microsoft havin access to your data. It's dangerous to go alone... Choose wisely ^^
i remember the people at CM said that once, they wanted to make a google free android...look where they are now
now, i understand the privacy argument, but my friend it goes too deep for you to try and use outdated OS for it...
sites have different levels of tracking, apps you install even those that don't rely on google services still at some level do, and mostly will be collected by google as long as you're using Android,
so you can do all 3 while using google services, preserve battery, minimize(and not entirely eliminate) privacy concerns, and have an updated OS... if you're going to spend the time to get rid of google, that time will be more fruitful spent just immuning your normal android...
use adblocks, VPN, Encrypt your device and possibly your connection with VPN, and through google define or disable most of what google uses to mine data...the chances on your ISP leaking your info is more than that of Googles (or Apple...etc) under normal circumstance) , apple even set a 1st when they refused to decrypt a phone for the FBI>>>so i'd suggest to get an updated nice rom , if it's custom flash the minimal GAPPs (Pico) , spend sometime on google privacy and security pages going thoroughly through them and disabling everything, do the same on Google option on your device, install a free VPN (or a good paid one if you can afford it which will provide encrypted Connection) , you'll have root, so debloat your rom as much as possible, read a little about wakelocks and alarms and disable them reasonably, get a good Kernel that has that in mind...and you'r set , and i bet you you'll leak less data than if just removed Google services...
that said, most custom roms comes without GAPPS (google apps and services) installed, so as an example, if you flashed the latest Sultan's CM 13 you'll get what you're asking for, an android 6.0.1 rom, no gapps, good camera , great Kernel...etc (no root as well, so you'll need to flash root if you want it)
This may seem oversimplified, but isn't Hydrogen OS directly from OnePlus pretty much google free?
MicroG is a great project for you to look into then: https://microg.org/

Please never install a free VPN service. They're free for a reason and that reason is to sell your data. Most free VPN services just relocate you and don't even encrypt the connection.
i use color os in my redmi note 4x without google services. you can port color os to our device and enjoy google-less phone
i think chinese developer miui roms are google free.

Text-To-Speech help, Resurrection Remix on Moto G6 ALI

Several great roms for this phone, so glad I can use it without the google overreach. Only need a few apps on it, plus calls and texts, and one of the apps is OSMAND (or really, any map/directions app).
Unfortunately, no TTS - so I can't get things like street names mentioned while driving in unfamiliar areas... Yes, this may seem like a tiny issue - that's because it is - but it does cause some problems.
So, if anyone on here happens to know how to get TTS working so that OSMand or any good non-google app can use it, could I get a step by step? Or, perhaps my searching was in error. I didn't find anything other than 'install gApps <google> which defeats the purpose of putting on a different rom. Just point me to the right forum posts. TWRP and RROS 8.6.? both on the phone with no issues, thanks to posts on this forum.
I like RROS, but if a different rom would make it easier I'm open - just don't want Google and it's tracking/control on it. APKPure and F-Droid are good enough for my apps.
Thanks In Advance
Jim
The phone's stock ROM does have TTS installed, do you need to be running a custom ROM?
Also, Waze is an option if you need to hear street names while driving without looking at your phone. Give it a try

I've only just heard about Waze - that sounds like the option for me, if I can get it working without Gapps (want to regain some privacy). Thanks for the pointer I'll look that up.
You're welcome. Gapps is only needed for google specific apps like Youtube or Google movies, books, the playstore or to login on an app with your gmail account. Aptoide is also a good alternative to apkpure or f-droid. I also use apkmirror when I can't find in aptoide.
