[Q] [URGENT] Phone Vibrates thrice Dead - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Last night i was using my phone it suddenly turned off and when i tried to turn it back on it vibrated three times and after trying a couple of times it turned back on. After an hour the same thing happened again nd I did the same thing as i did earlier and it turned back on. Today suddenly this happened again and this time it would not turn on rather every time i press the power button it vibrates three times. PLEASE HELP

You can do two thing to try and fix it:
-- Factory reset via the phone (Settings > Backup and reset > Factory reset)
-- Reflash it with flashtool
~~ Regards

Seems like your reset button under the back cover is broken

ok look first of all i am completely new to this community nd i dnt how to do this things (flash) and i dnt think so first option will be possible because the phone doese nt turn on nd i pressed the small button behind the back cover for five seconds(according to xperia sp section xda it same as removing a battery frm the phn and putting it back on. After that it turned back on but i am facing this problem constantly and i am facing it after giving the new update12.1.a.1.207. Well i just wanted to do the factory reset and it hapeened again so the forst option is not possible anymore

Then go for option Two and reset it with Flashtool and if it happens again reflash again. If the issue occurs again after even two flashes then it is a hardware issue and you need to contact the place where you got the phone

Diamond reboot loop w. original ROM

hi there,
this morning, without any interactiom, i heard the vibration of my touch diamond restarting.(with original newest ROM from htc website that ran without any problem for several months). battery was about 80% yesterday evening.
but it wasn´t starting at all. after the HTC animation and the green windows mobile screen, it started again. after restarting for 20 minutes i took out the battery, put it in again and performed a hard reset as stated in the manual.
now, on the "rainbow" screen i get a message like
psoc diam stage_pvt 0x32
then i did the Volume-Up reset, and now i don´t even get the red version information in the lower right screen. as it doesn´t even start i cannot get an active sync connection.
any ideas? is my phone broken? i didn´t do anything special, and i wonder why it rebooted without interaction this morning.
any ideas what i can do?
thanks in advance,
jkersch
Mine started doing this about 2 weeks ago it woke me up in the middle of night while sleeping with its vibrator and start sound.
The only thing I have found is that my little reset button at the pen holder dosent work anymore. To do a hard reset i have to takeout the battery and then put it in, hold the volume key and enter key then power it to get it. Flashed by holding volume down and the power on, it hold for about 10min just enough to get the flash.
I managed to flash it once but it dosent help, it constantly reset at the thouch diamond screen. Some times i get to the green windows mobile screen.
As warrenty is out on my phone and ive given up and using another phone.
Same problem in a different thread
Have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5279740.
install a new radio worked for me

Mteor wont turn on

hm , yesterday i installed a game. i try to play, but my phone freezed. i take battery out, put it back and phone no longer turning on. When the phone is connected with laptop via usb, i can turn on till green screen and then phone restarts. wtf is the problem ?
P.S my phone has wm5
Do a hard reset,
how ? two soft keys + power button ? not working
There was once when I thought the hard reset method was not working either. I later found out that it was because one of the two soft keys(usually the left) was not very responsive. When I tried again, this time pressing harder on the two soft keys, it worked.

Captivate Power button not working and boots with battery automatically!

I got a captivate, over a year old, never had a problem been through many flashes and custom roms etc....
Well it was actually running stock rom (froyo) for a while and suddenly the power button stopped working and the phone automatically booted when the battery was inserted. I read about the camera trick, took a picture and pressed the button a few times and it started working again. A few days later the button stopped responding and also it boots with the battery automatically again but this time the camera trick doesn't work (tried for a while many times), I did the factory update to gingerbread just to try that for the heck of it and still nothing. any ideas, suggestions, or other advice??
I think you have a problem with motherboard. Even the power button is jammed, it won't turn on the device as soon as you put the battery in.
I had same problem with PC and came out the motherboard had problem.
Same problem as well. Just started yesterday/today
Could it be software?
I'm running hacksung v16/17
I tried doing data/cache/system/dalvik reset and then reinstall, but it hasn't changed anything.
I might do an ODIN restore but I thought it was hardware.
Its hardware..check out mobiletechvideos.com they offer a power button replacement service.
sent mine put for the same issue, got it back in a week, works prefect now.
power button not working
... that's a hardware issue ... or so i read
you can take it apart and clean it you find instructions online
or you can use apps (which allow you to use the volume buttons to wake the screen)
i use MIUI .. it has a built in function (to use the volume buttons to wake the screen)
Time to get a new phone. I wouldn't waste money trying to repair it, something else will break and then what? Take a backup of your apps and data.

Have you tried using odin 1 click to restore back to stock? That worked for me.
I just posted my solution here. See if it works for you, too.

[Q] Screen does not turn on

Hello,
I was restoring a backup from TWRP and, as usually in this recovery, the screen turned off itself to power save. After a couple of minutes I have tried to switch it on with the power button, but nothing happened... Tried again, and nothing. Screen still blank.
So, I decided to soft reset with Volume Up + Power. The phone vibrated, but the screen was still blank.
Finally, as my last idea, I decided to switch the phone off (VolUp+Power 10 secs, 3 vibrations). Then, I have tried to switch it on again, but the same problem...
It has the Hybrid v 19.2 with NuriJ Kernel. And it is the very first time I realize something like this and I'm quite upset because I'm living abroad now and I strongly need my telephone.
Any idea?
Thank you VERY much.
For further details.
I have tried to charge the battery but after connecting the cable it does nothing. Same issue when trying to connect to the computer.
It seems to be completely dead.:crying:
Solved flashing the Kernel via fastboot. Also works flashing the ftf via flashtools. :good:

[Q] [HELP] Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with my Moto G(boot loop)

So. My Moto G is completely un modded, not rooted, and is exactly stock how I bought it and haven't changed any of the software. My Moto G has been getting slower in the past couple of months with everything going slower than usual. I bought my phone in February 2014.
Yesterday while I was at school, in my pocket I had my phone. I felt random vibrations in timed cycles. So I pulled out my phone and had a lol at it randomly rebooted but came back to the home screen. As I started to use it just to send a couple of messages it rebooted again but this time after the reboot animations they just went on and on, what I've found out to be called a boot loop.
So I went home did some research and figured I would have to factory reset. I couldn't get into the phone therefore I had to do it externally. I got the the menu thing ( I think it's called fast boot menu ) and I wanted to select newer bootup or power up just to see if that would possibly stop the boot loop. I selected it and got into my phone, into setting and factory erased my phone.
Well I factory erased my phone and re installed the apps I on,y essentially use or NEED such a social media, within this time there was no unusual activity. Shortly after my phone randomly rebooted ( after downloading the apps ) and turned off, and then went in to the former boot loop! I was furious!
Well here I am, left it overnight for charge and it's been looping for 10 hours. I tried going back into the fast boot menu, the first time I got into it this morning I selected recovery in hope to reset it, however the screen said no command with the android and the exclamation point. The second time I got into the menu I tried 'Factory' and it just rebooted and back into the cycle.
At one point I did get into my phone however shortly after that guess what happened, it turned off and rebooted. And back into the vicious cycle.
I am led to believe it's the power button that's causing the problem ( correct me if I am wrong ) as when I did manage to get I to the phone I did try pressing the power button to investigate this and on some occasions in did lock the phone but in several others it displayed the power off popup and then turned off shortly after indicating that I was holding the button down which I definitely wasn't doing.
So where would I go from this? Do I call Motorola, try flashing a stock ROM ( it's completely stock ATM , I don't know how to do this so if I have to do this can you please explain briefly ) or try going back into the fast boot and go into recovery and try and get rid of no command ( if I can, and how ? ).
Please any help would be very appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
PS you don't think it's the back cover that's doing it because it took that off last night '

Since your phone is completely stock, don't start tempering with it now. Just return the phone. But you have to act quick, warranty is about to expire.

Hi, I had a look online and came across a forum post saying it was a jammed or sticky power button and the poster stated to hit the power button side of the phone on a desk a couple times and it will go back to normal. I'm glad to say it did work after I hit it a couple times, as fast as ever now due to the reset!
I was wondering if I call Motorola would they give me a free new moto g out of it, as I see it as an opportunity to do so, or will they just prompt me to send it so they can repair it under warranty? Is it worth calling ?
