Need advice on the best Stock Android Rom to switch to... - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Need advice on the best Stock Android Rom to switch to...
I was on the horrible Sony Xperia Z Ultra and had the Bootloader locked meaning no custom roms no fancy tweaking...i did contact Sony aswell as my carrier that supplied the handset but it never got resolved!
Anyways i now have a Sony Xperia Z1 and the bootloader is able to be unlocked...So im in the middle of unlocking the bootloader as i type this thread then straight after will root! The question i have is what's the best Stock Android Rom to use? Is there a GPE Google Play Edition Rom available for the Z1? also how stable is the official CM11 from Cyanogenmod official site?
I badly want to get my device stock android as i hate the Sony bugged skin I hope i have a easlyier time with my Z1 as compared to my Ultra...
Hope to hear from you guys soon

"Best rom thread" is not alowed on this forum..and for question and answer use Q&A thread

ook thanks for the no help

Since this can technically be a discussion thread, then its good to go for General. Anyways, in my opinion I would say either Cyanogenmod or Paranoid Android. If your looking for greater features with solid battery life and performance go with Paranoid Android. If you are looking for pure speed and battery life, with a bit of customization, then shoot for Cyanogenmod. I hope I've helped

General or Q&A anyway, but this thread should be locked.

@encryptioncsta Retitle your thread making sure this is seen as ROM discussion and not a fight over what is the best ROM and you should be certainly good

I've asked him to retitle it discussion, if he does so this thread has an actual use, thus will probably not be locked.

Unfortunately best rom threads are not allowed no matter how you disguise them.
I advise you head over to the original development section and try them out for yourself.
Also if you do have a question, please use the Q and A section. thread closed

Seems rasbeanjelly doesn't get much attention...

I stumbled across this ROM in a Trinity thread and decided to give it a try. After a couple days use with no issues I thought I would see how many others are having success with this ROM. I wonder why it doesn't get the visibility or attention of some of the others that stay near the top of discussion? It's very fast and stable for me without a custom kernel, anyone have in experience with rasbeanjellly long term? I wonder how many other ROMs are out there that are really good but garner small followings compared to the "favorites"?
Its because the rom does not have its own dedicated thread. Rascarlo prefers to kep it in the trinity thread. It is a great rom.

I can't see the reasoning behind keeping it buried in a kernel thread.
Its just the way he likes it.

Ted C your right it is a great Rom and the kernel is very good too.
Someone in the trinity thread summed it up with a comment along the lines of we trinity people are a little different. I'm still a noob with this android stuff so I couldn't comment on that but I like the style of the guys involved.

I'm pretty sure my unofficial port of rasbean to the toroplus is the only thread for it. Minus the "kanged" one that came out after mine.

and theres this review of rasbean jelly http://gearburn.com/2012/10/rascarlo-custom-nexus-rom-review/
I like having the 2 threads in one. It makes it simple to keep up with what's going on.
Click XDA app
Click DER Kernel thread
Read a page or 2
DL if need be
IMO - As long as you've caught up to the recent state of things in the thread, the system works perfectly. The fact that there isn't too much traffic (not necessarily a bad thing) makes it nice and manageable.
Got any images.

Great ROM, great kernel, great devs
Many overdo the amount of tweaking and changes that AOSP needs, rasbeanjelly is just right. Just enough to give you an extra bit of functionality without killing stability

I'd love to try a ROM for my nexus 7.
Do you need experience with busybox to flash rasbeanjelly?

No. Rasbeanjelly comes with a busybox installer app. Just open it and click to install.
Check out the link posted at the top of the page for rasbeanjelly FAQ and Troubleshooting links.

Best ROM threads are not allowed on XDA, and most certainly not in dev section. Please read the xda rules.
plz don't buy this phone
the best rom isn't finished/ready yet i think....
With the new bootloader i have try all ROMS and the TG 990 ICS 30Va by far is the best ROM.

To help you and avoid breaking the rules, I'll answer u in private message, but seriously don't post threads like this in the dev section
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app
Firstly questions do not belong in Development as we have a Q&A section especially for them. Secondly best ROM threads have no place in the forum as there's no such thing as a best ROM, everyone's needs are different so you'll not get a simple answer. Test for yourself and then make up your mind.
Thanks

Anything that is CM or CM-based ROM for TX lol , though I'm not getting my hopes high, most devs are still quite focused on T atm.
I guess we just have to wait for FXP since they posted on their site that TX is going to be supported also aside from T. Can't wait for that to happen.
EDIT: ooops, OP seems to be talking about T, hehehe, just ignore my comment

[Q] gaming laptops under $1000

Hey guys, my mate was originally going to get a custom built desktop but for some reason he now wants a laptop. I've tried talking him out of it but his minds set on a laptop.
So basically it has to be around 1000 bucks, which I know isn't much for a laptop. I've been having a look for him but I'd like some input from you guys. He wants to be able to run BF3 on atleast medium, but I'm not sure if that's stretching it too far. Cheers.

Just because you don't like posting in big threads, does not give you (or any other member) the right to go making threads whenever you feel like it.
ESPECIALLY if a thread exists that is perfectly suited for your question.

The best advice in this thread is to ask your question here. I know it is less convenient for you to use the big thread, but most of the people who like helping with Hardware decisions will be in the big thread...the other issue is that if everyone in the big thread opened their own threads then this forum would be full of Hardware request threads and that wouldn't be good for anyone either.

first of all, you posted this in the wrong section. & second of all, its all personal preference.
What fits you fits other better or worse, just try them all
First off development is for developers to post work
Questions go in Q&A
Second there is no absolute best most anything...it all depends on how you use your phone
What may be the best for someone else will not be for you
That is why these threads are closed
You have to put in the time and flash to see what is the best for you, your usage, your phone and your signal area.
