APN settings for Verizon S5 on att - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Got my wife the verizon version of the s5 TO USE ON ATT. Making phone calls and data are working perfectly, however, she is unable to send picture text messages. What should the corect apn settings be? Even though I copied the below from a friend's ATT Galaxy S5, the Multimedia messaging portion will not work. Pictures just say "failed".
I have
Name ATT
APN wap.cingular
Username [email protected]
Password cingular1
MMSC http://mmsc.cingular.com
Mms proxy wireless.cingular.com
Mms port 80
Mcc 310
Mnc 410
Apn type default,supl,mms
All other fields blank

Thank you,
I tried the one provided by s5Freak, sent a test mms (with picture), took 10 minutes to send, but it succeeded. Tried it again and it kept trying all night long-
will try yours as well XRange. Thank you!

That's the Apn I used for my S5, I could send mms from home in seconds, but couldn't send anything while on vacation in Florida. I use the same apn for my Nexus 5 and it's the same deal, so...

Isn't only band that work from Verizon phone on AT&T network the wcdma, are lte bands. As all of not most of sms, mms are over mobile network on AT&T not wifi. Forgive me if I said to much as its time to lay down, been up all night.

Looks like this did it. Thank you!

I flashed the phone with the alliance rom, and copied the same APN settings that worked before. But now it doesn't... .. .settings worked with Kitkat rom, don't work with Alliance. Any clues?

I know this is an older thread but for anyone who is still searching for a solution, as I was when I found this thread, changing the MMs Port from 80 to 8080 fixed the issue for me. I can now send pictures from my Verizon S6 that I am using on the AT&T network.

Ok so I tried every thing in this thread and nothing works. I have a Verizon unlocked galaxy s5 using it with att....everything works but mms...which I desperately need for work and other things. I've called att, Samsung and Verizon and no help from any. Please help!

Update to settings!
I have a verizon S5 and the data hasn't worked for the longest time with these settings. However, when I changed these settings:
Bearer: LTE
APN: PHONE
I was finally able to get H+ data and MMS. May be an old thread and resolved for the OP but hopefully may be of some help to others looking to fix it.

Hey! could you post all of your APN settings? I've been trying to get my unlocked s5 to let me use mms for some time now. Data works, just no mms.

I did a combination of XRange and Glock's settings to get my Verizon Note 4 working on AT&T:
Name: ATT Phone
APN: PHONE
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
Multimedia message proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
Multimedia message port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: Not set
ATP type: default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,dun,att
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Bearer: LTE
Mobile virtual network operator type: None
This get's me H+ service (no LTE). Data AND MMS work as well.
Give it a shot. I think Note 4 and S5 would work similarly. Hope that helps.

I was recently given an "old" Galaxy S5 (Verizon) by a relative and immediately impregnated it with an AT&T SIM. Problem: no data connection if WiFi was not available. I tried for an entire day to get rid of the "offline" message with no luck. Every combination of APN entries found via Google didn't work...until I came across this thread and the above suggestion. Changes made: 80 became 8080, and Bearer became LTE. Other entries were already in place. Success.
Next challenge: downgrading 6.0.1 so that I can root.

I just got back from the ATT Store. I have a Verizon Note 4 Unlocked Global and was on MetroPCS Family Plan, well the family is no longer so I needed to bail. I got the H only and no MMS/Internet. I called the guy back to ask if he is sure the IMEI is registered, he said yes as well as "You probably won't be able to use this phone."
Changing the APN to PHONE and Bearer to LTE worked. I have H+ now, which is painfully slow but at least it works. Thanks
Time to ditch the Note 4 and upgrade to something that won't cost $900

Question: No DATA on US ATT Unlocked Eurospec

Just got my Note straight from the UK, unlocked. Been on the phone with ATT about 6 times. I can send and recieve calls, texts - but no DATA. They can't seem to figure out why it will not pick up the ATT Data Network. Sim, EIN all linked, but no joy.
I am a noob, sorry - any ideas. I hate to send the phone back.
Any ideas ?
Update - Funk2641's response below (no APN was entered) - fixed it the issue.
Still, ATT would not give me a 4G smartphone plan - even though the H+ shows up next to the clock ? Initial Speedtests look like the same as my Infuse, Atrix and 4S.
Thanks everybody (Funk2641) for your help ! I hope this thread saves some agony for many as this phone is hitting the states. Don't know if I will tread in Eurospec for the Nexus, as I will want to hold that one in my hand first.
Also, this is a great phone - speed, battery life and the screen is fantastic !

Thx.
please keep posted.....I'll be on Att Friday
I will follow this thread since I will also switch from T-mobile to AT&T.
I too have the same issues. I actually used a few different apns and got edge to work poorly, I sighed and told myself ICS would fix it all up better and to just enjoy the extra battery life of 2g now, God I hope a get this cleared up

Technically, the Note is just a big SGS2. There's no reason on the phone side you should be having a problem using the Cingular APN. I'm using a ISGS2 and a UK 3G Tab 10.1 on AT&T with no problem. It's either something with the provisioning of your account or your Note may not have the right bands (Asian?). The latter is unlikely if you ordered it from the UK. Try reseting the APN to default under network settings. Also, if you're on a legit 4G plan there's a specific APN that you can find on the ASGS2 forum.
Here is another APN that works, I had the same issue
For APN settings use the name ATT and then for APN the word phone. Leave everything else blank-what is needed will get filled in automatically. Click the APN when you finish adding it and the radio button turns green to indicate it is working. The advantage to this APN setting is it gives you clear access and data speeds are not limited by ATT.
Those apns didn't work and I too a would doubt my phone bring the Asian version,.this version of gingerbread has the option to suspend my data network from holding down the power button maybe the software isn't...... I don't know I have no clue but my apns are normal but when's search they don't come up
In the list automatically so something a wrong
and I came from a hspa+ phone so my plan is already to go, I called to double check
to op, glad you got it straightened out...who did you order from and how much?

What plans are you guys, please?
(Anyone on month to month $50 unlimited?
There are two different APNs to use depending on what data plan you're on. If you're using a MediaNet or Data for non-Smartphones plan (3G) you need to use the Cingular APN. If you're on a legit 4G plan you need to use the special APN for 4G phones. If you reverse it, you'll get no data. For those of you on the 4G plan, go in to the APN settings. When you press menu, there's a reset to default option. It should pull the 4G settings down automatically. If you're on a 3G plan don't do this and instead manually enter the below settings. If you do this correctly you should get data. If you have a quad-band phone and still can't get data it's something with your account settings and not the h/w.

STRAIGHT TALK SIM APN SETTINGS (AT&T BASED, NOT T-Mobile)

I know this thread is old as hell, but to new users who are considering going with Straight Talk (ST), I suggest you do it. Its way cheaper than AT&T and you still get their coverage and not to mention unlimited data**. You can get the Straight Talk SIM card via their Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program. You can get it at their website.
**You get unlimited data as long as you don't abuse your data connection.
Oh and if you are having trouble trying to get data/mms working on your cappy with ST, here are the APN settings.
1. Download APN Back up/ restore from the Play Store
Name: ST (or whatever you want)
APN: att.mvno

Thank you for the info. I did want to ask though if you can direct me to the forum post that explains whats needed to be done to flash my pantech burst P9070 at&t phone to Straight Talk?? I moved to Greensburg Kentucky and trying to find a service that will work on my phone in this area.
There is no need to flash your phone, as long as it runs android, you just follow the instructions above. Also straight talk has realized that people will do this anyways so now you can just buy a straight talk SIM card from their website and I'm sure they have instructions too.
HTC HD2 converted to Straight Talk
I followed the thread best I can for this, but my HD2 has diferrent sequence for input fields / cell blocks and I was unable to get it completed. The phone works well and the text works well, but no emails. I am a rookie at this technology, so be gentle on me. I purchased this outright at Walmart in 5/10 and the phone is unlocked.
I used this sequence: START > SEETINGS > MENU > ALL SETTINGS > CONNECTIONS > CONNECTIONS >
ADD NEW MODEM CONNECTION > ENTER NAME FOR CONNECTION (STRAIGHT TALK) > SELECT MODEM (GPRS). I completed this part.
ST provides the following instructions:
FIELD = SETTINGS
Name = straight Talk (completed)
APN = att.mvno (can not located this input field)
Proxy = proxy . mvno . tracfone . com (can not locate this input field)
Port = 80 (completed)
MMSC = http: // mmsc . cingular . com (can not locate this input field)
MMS Proxy = 66.209.11.33 (can not locate this input field)
MMS Port = 80 (can not locate this input field)
I really need to get this corrected. Then I would love to upgrade to newer Windows version.
Thanks A Ton - Scott

Did you ever figure out how to recieve mms? I think it has something to do with cm roms, ive had this problem with cm7 and now cm9 on my gs3. THanks
All of a sudden lately my MMS have not been coming through. I just get a message that says I have a "download". When I click on it then it changes to "downloading" but after a few seconds goes back to either "download" or I get a message that I cannot retrieve the message.
I have gotten this a few times when I send myself an MMS just to test it. Im on AOKP milestone 6 and I think this started happening right after I upgraded to that. Last night I flashed back to JB 4.1 and it was still happening, so now I dont know what to do.

Ok, so its not just me. Yes, it only just started happening within the last several days. I just spent an hour on the phone with google support trying to figure it out. Ended up doing a full reset and putting the phone back the way I want it right now but I still get the same MMS issue. At this point it has to be on ST's end of things.

Everything worked just fine until the weekend here in Indianapolis. I dug up a forum from 2011 on Howard Forum with similar issues but didn't want to respond to an old post.
And lately while browsing the web on data, I get an unable to connect to network error. If I refresh the page, it eventually goes.
Everything fine up here in Minneapolis St. Paul on Straight Talk. Streaming Pandora 20 minues here, browse the web, check Facebook all without any hault.
I'm using a separate APN setting specifically just for MMS and works great. I then have a 2nd setting to get data connection.

I have no problems with calls or data or streaming or anything other than not getting MMS at all. Would you kindly share your APN settings?
Here are the APN settings I used specifically to get just MMS: http://wirevalley.com/straight-talk-day-1/
When you enter in these APN MMS settings, you won't be able to physically "select" this APN setting. However, it still tells the phone how to route MMS properly.
Post your results! Let me know what you find out.
P.S. - I'm also using Android... hopefully you are too. Otherwise, not sure if the results will be the same.

Ive tried different combinations of APN's. Ill try this one and see how it goes. Thanks for the recommendation. Yes, Im on Android, Galaxy Nexus specifically but found this thread and figured Id post in it.

att APN problems

So I'm done with straight talk and when back to attend. I popped the Sim into my gsm unlocked x and it automatically detected the APN. It works except for MMS. So if it knows what APN to use then why doesn't MMS work?
I would check their site and get the settings, those do matter. I forgot to set my wife's Moto X and she couldn't send pics.

I've tried every APN I could find. Even copied ones from demo phones in the store. People receive when I send them but I can't receive them.
That's odd, did you set it, select it and then reboot? I know you've probably tried everything but just making sure so everyone can give you the best help.

Yes I select it and reboot every time. If its a minor change I just edit the existing APN so I don't know if that matters. I'm on a prepaid smartphone plan also so I don't know if that matters either.
I don't think it should matter if your prepaid. My wife is on straight talk and using a Moto X. I got her the unlocked version so she could use at&t or tmo SIM. She has the at&t nano SIM from the byop package at Wal-Mart. If you tried every apn out there then it could either be straight talk or the phone. To bad st has horrid customer service cause you'll never get an answer from them.

i dumped straight talk and im now on official at&t. at&t is what im having the problems on. im sure there are more people on here with a unlocked x running official at&t prepaid. hopefully they will chime in with their apns.
I would just call them, at least they have decent customer service. If the info they give you didn't work then either it's a prob on their end or bad phone.

Those are what my phone defaults to from detecting the att Sim and that's what was on the demo x in the store. Do you have any problems with MMS or when you first used the x with that Sim?
I wonder if it has to do with me porting my number over from straight talk. We all know they have MMS problems.
No but I'd call AT&T at this point, sounds like someone didn't setup your line correctly.

Treefrog, I have the same unlocked GSM Tmobile MotoX that your wife has. When she uses the ATT sim with Straigh Talk, does she get LTE or just the HSPA+? Next month I was going to try but I cannot find a definitive answer if the LTE works or not.
Thanks!

I'm not Treefrog but I can tell you that yes LTE is great on the Moto X with att Straight Talk. Just not as fast as AT&T LTE. But still faster than HSPA+. My brother has the unlocked T-Mobile Moto X on att Straight talk. Phone testing says network type LTE
And if you need I can supply you with the apn he is using

Thanks for information! So you have to enter special numbers in the settings to get it to work with LTE?

Well I have ATT straight talk from the Nano sim. After going from Tmobile, it seems the internet on ST like to turn off all the time, and is way slower than Tmobile's. Looks like next month I will be trying Cricket.

[Q] Exclamation point, No mobile data, Lollipop

I updated my phone to Lollipop and now I have no mobile data, and it now always says "HOME" under the signal bars, and has an exclamation point to the right of the signal bars, I can make and receive calls however.
I have tried:
Deleting my APN and typing in a new one.
Used the "Network operators" to select a network, - it shows "HOME" and "AT&T", I have tried both, and "Choose automatically".
Removing my sim card, both rebooting with out a sim, and removing the sim and re-inserting with the phone running.
Removing my SD card, and rebooting with it removed.
Wiping the cache.
Factory reset.
Reboot in safe mode.
My boot loader is locked, no root, and I use Straight Talk.
This post lists the steps I took to update to Lollipop, as I had a Consumer Cellular version of the Moto G 2014.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59470751&postcount=114
Is there anyway to fix this without unlocking the boot loader?
If I have to unlock the boot loader, what steps would fix the problem?
Thanks.
I needed a working phone for today, and decided to unlock my bootloader and install a ROM, I decided on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/rom-titan-prime-romversion-1-0-beta-t3048786
unfortunately the problem remains, so what now?
I am thinking I may have to go back to KitKat
Are you absolutely sure you have the APN right? I have an XT1064 with Consumer Cellular on AT&T's network. I'm running Titan Rom Lollipop and I was having similar problems until I fixed the APN. Also, I've never even had to look at Network Operators setting to get data.

I got it fixed today, by changing the APN, but here is the strange thing, the APN I was using on the phone when I still had the Consumer Cellular KitKat ROM was this:

Name: straight talk
APN: tfdata

MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS Proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS Port: 80
-----------------------------------------------
and it was working, I had mobile data and was able to send and receive texts.
But after the update to Lollipop that APN never worked again, now I am using this:
http://buzzmobile.us/configure-straight-talk-apn-settings-byop/
Name: straight talk
APN: ATT.MVNO
Server: att.mvno
MMSC: hrrp://mmmsc.cingular.com
MMS PROXY: 66.209.11.33

I checked with Straight Talk and the settings I am using now are the correct ones for my phone number

I had got the phone from eBay, and did a factory restore before I used it, and then installed my Straight Talk SIM and finished setting up the phone and replaced the "TFDATA" default APN with the Straight Talk APN, I did notice both APNs looked the same except the for name, I had believed at the time that the reason why both APNs were the same was that somehow the APN was stored on the SIM and recovered by the phone.
Yep, it looks like the APN I had to switch to seems to be almost exactly the same as Consumer Cellular's APN

Wi-Fi Calling not working Metro-PCS

I've tried to ask this on reddit but I could not get any help. I have seen a thread on the nexus 6P but not for the nexus 6. WiFi calling does not activate, I have metropcs but I've seen people have WiFi calling activated on metro. It does say IWLAN on sim status but I can't make calls or texts. I have tried many WiFi networks and have flashed the stock image but still can't connect. E911 address is updated as well. http://imgur.com/a/6ZP9h I am on chroma 12/10, i manually flashed 6.0.1 stock, i also used the tmobile lollipop image for wifi calling and not luck, any help? Thanks

I recently got a Huaweii Nexus 6p about a weak ago and this was the one feature i needed the most due to poor reception in some parts of my home. After many days so searching xda, t-moble subreddit, and other help forums. I also made many calls to customer service and still getting no result. As of the other day i can confirm that I've found a solution.
1. Submit your e911 address to metropcs. You can the my metro app from the playstore or call customer service and give it to them so they can put it in the system manually.
2. Go into the apn settings and maually delete each default metro pcs apn one by one. After deleteing them you should notice that the apns will default to showing t-mobile's apn settings. (Ex: T-MobileGPRS, T-Mobile IMS, T-Mobile MMS)
3. Click on the first apn that says "T-MobileGPRS" that is the setting we will edit. The other apns you can leave as is.
4. Once in the T-MobileGPRS setting change the Name from T-MobileGPRS to "MetroPCS".
5. Change the the APN from fast.tmobile.com to "fast.metropcs.com" . Leave all other settings as is and then save the changes.
After that give it a few minutes then you will notice it says "T-Mobile Wifi Caliing" make a test call and you should see in the dialer screen "wifi calling". From the there you will be good to go!
** I can also confirm that this solution also activates VoLTE and data and mms also work with not issues at all!

Alright looks like you have the same setup i did. I stumbled upon this new configuration after the original solution I had posted stopped working. So with your current apn settings
1. Delete all the the Metro PCS 260 apns.
2. From there you should only have the default T-Mobile apns that list T-Mobile GPRS, T-Mobile IMS, T-Mobile MMS.
3. Edit the "T-Mobile GPRS" apn and save the following configuration:
Name: MetroPCS
APN: fast.metropcs.com
Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
Port: <Leave in Blank>
Username: <Leave in Blank>
Password: <Leave in Blank>
Server: <Leave in Blank>
MMSC: <Leave in Blank>
MMS proxy: <Leave in Blank>
MMS port: <Leave in Blank>
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
APN type: default,supl
APN Protocol: ipv6
APN Roaming Protocol : ipv4
Bearer: unspecified
MVNO Type: None
from there save this apn.
4. Create another apn to the list with the following configuration:
Name: MetroPCS 260
APN: fast.metropcs.com
Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
Port: <Leave in Blank>
Username: <Leave in Blank>
Password: <Leave in Blank>
Server: <Leave in Blank>
MMSC: (add in the http:// before)mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: <Leave in Blank>
MMS port: <Leave in Blank>
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
APN type: ia
APN Protocol: ipv4/ipv6
APN Roaming Protocol : ipv4/ipv6
Bearer: unspecified
MVNO Type: None
Save this apn when done.
5. From there you should have this list of apns: MetroPCS, MetroPCS 260, T-Mobile IMS, T-Mobile MMS.
Make sure the MetroPCS one is selected( The 1st in the list)
Almost forgot. To enable SMS texting over wifi:
--Go to Dialer; then dialpad
--dial *#*#4636#*#*
--Phone Information
--Turn on SMS over IMS.
From there if you once your done restart your phone and connect to a wireless network. And wait a few minutes then it should work from there. I used this setup and i can confirm that both wifi-calling is working & VoLTE. Let me know if this worked for you.

Alright looks like you have the same setup i did. I stumbled upon this new configuration after the original solution I had posted stopped working. So with your current apn settings
1. Delete all the the Metro PCS 260 apns.
2. From there you should only have the default T-Mobile apns that list T-Mobile GPRS, T-Mobile IMS, T-Mobile MMS.
3. Edit the "T-Mobile GPRS" apn and save the following configuration:
Name: MetroPCS
APN: fast.metropcs.com
Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
Port: <Leave in Blank>
Username: <Leave in Blank>
Password: <Leave in Blank>
Server: <Leave in Blank>
MMSC: <Leave in Blank>
MMS proxy: <Leave in Blank>
MMS port: <Leave in Blank>
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
APN type: default,supl
APN Protocol: ipv6
APN Roaming Protocol : ipv4
Bearer: unspecified
MVNO Type: None
from there save this apn.
4. Create another apn to the list with the following configuration:
Name: MetroPCS 260
APN: fast.metropcs.com
Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
Port: <Leave in Blank>
Username: <Leave in Blank>
Password: <Leave in Blank>
Server: <Leave in Blank>
MMSC: (add in the http:// before)mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: <Leave in Blank>
MMS port: <Leave in Blank>
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
APN type: ia
APN Protocol: ipv4/ipv6
APN Roaming Protocol : ipv4/ipv6
Bearer: unspecified
MVNO Type: None
Save this apn when done.

Ok so I tried this and then I had no data connection. After some time all I had was H. I then tried enabling wifi and putting on airplane mode with wifi enabled.. phone said connect to a network to make a call. To get my data and mms back I had to remove all the APN's and reset to default. I left the three tmobile ones there and added the mmsc (http://mms.msg.eng...) to the Metro 260 apn and now I have LTE again and my MMS is working as well as texts.
I guess its because I am on band 4? If you download LTE Discovery what band does it say you are on? This is weird at least I had Volte on the nexus 6 with the same sim card on metropcs.
