Hi guys,
first of all thanks for the great work here. Would not have thought that my P990 could run that smoothly. I am currently on the CM 11 by tonyp with the 3.1 kernel and baseband v30a. I have not had a crash or anything yet.
Now come the problem: the vibration function does not seem to work anymore. One person in the developer thread had the same problem and said that he switched off the phone for several hours. That did not work. So any help how to fix the problem is highly appreciated.
Best,
goosele

Hi guys,
just tried several other roms and kernels (SlimKat, CM10.1, Kernel M1). Vibration is still not working (since I flashed to CM11, new recovery and baseband). Any ideas?

Hey guys,
Upgraded to 7.0.1 stable mod of CM7 this week on my LG P990, now my phone boots up backwards (or mirrored or back to front etc)
I tried an ICS mod too and it was doing the same thing. 7.0.0 of CM7 works fine...
So confused, need help, hoping its not a hardware issue!
Thanks
In advance, i apologise if my replies are slow, ill be at work for the next 15 hours...
Try temasek's CM7.2 KANG. Link in signature...
I'll have a look when I get home, thanks.

Still backwards... could it be a kernal problem? I'm relatively new to this and dont have much much understanding to what may affect a phone like this.
Ask from me what info you might need and im happy to try and find it...

Don't use the 7.0.1 stable! This is very old. The latest nightlies are much more stable and better.

Dude, its the only one that boots with my screen the right way round! No other build does and I need some serious advice!
Someone help please!!!
Keep a mirror in your pocket.
(Sorry, couldn't help myself)
Have you tried the latest temasek kang like was suggested above? Also, try reflashing and full wipe again, and one time more. Sometimes it doesn't work perfectly at the first flash. It has happened to me on a LG GT540. The first time I flashed the phone was acting up weird. Second time, same ROM, it was perfect.
I flashed AOKP M6 from AOKP B36. M6 seemed to work great and I was very happy until I tried WIFI hotspot. When you toggle it on it says "WIFI Hotspot active" then drops out after 2-3 seconds. I have rewiped and reflashed but it is still the same. I am just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if someone can confirm for me that it works for them on M6. If it works for others than I will reflash from scratch. This doesn't seem like the best place to ask this question since it is specific to AOKP M6 but I am new and by no means an expert so I was directed here. I have searched for an answer to this and I do see that some experienced this in earlier AOKP builds. Loading semaphore (I don't even know yet what that is) seemed to work for some but not all. For now I have recovered back to B36. I need WIFI Hotspot to work.

Yeah, I had the same experience with AOKP 38 and 40, so I switched to Nostalgia, which was at 6 at the time, and it worked great. Then I upgraded to Nostalgia 6.2 and now the Hotspot problem is back (see my other post in this forum), so 6.2 must have included something from upstream that broke it.
And you mentioned the Semaphore kernel, but N 6.2 uses Semaphore and still has this problem. Unless I get other good suggestions in my other thread, I'm thinking to go back to 6.0 until the Jelly Bean releases start to come out, and then hope that they've resolved the issue.
Hi guys. I can confirm that devil kernel fixes the wifi tether issue (that exact one...) i had it on aokp and cm9 (and others i think). Not to mention devil is blazing fast and full of great features.

I was gun shy to try flashing the kernel separately, since last time I did that while trying to fix this same problem for AOKP, I wound up in a boot loop. But your reassurance encouraged me, and I flashed Devil from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642460 and my Hotspot is working again!
Awesome - thanks!

Hey Fractaline.....me too. Thanks so much. I had no idea how to flash the Kernel seperately but I just did it and it worked. I am typing this message on my laptop using the wifi hotspot on my Cappy right now. Now we'll see how everything else works. Thanks again!!
Hello xda
I know there quite a few posts out there with people detailing their phones rebooting randomly but my phone just hit a new level of weird.
My i9000 reboots randomly into cwm recovery menu for no good reason (I know there is another thread about this but that instance is on the Nexus S and the thread has basically died). This started occurring shortly after I flashed slim ROM 4.2.2 build 5 (came from CM10.1 nightlies). Flashing the rom again and updating it to build 6 has done nothing to alleviate the issue.
I'm using the Semaphore kernel with no OC or changed settings, and having recently bought a new battery, I'm really not sure where to start looking for the problem.
If anyone can give me some tips it'd be greatly appreciate, thanks in advance.

hi
randomly i will got this problem if i m flashing backward. like from 4.2.2 - 4.2.1, or 4.1.x to 4.0.x. or repeatedly changing between kernel (i always do this to modified ROM to suits my settings n need) its probably due to changing partition in system or kernel clash (even i did all wipe) in internalsd.
Sorry to say. it will come worst sometimes if u ignore da problem or keep flashing ROM to avoid it. 'Luckily' about 2 hour ago my sgs just did. Constantly booting to recovery n its juz bootloop between kernel splashscreen n sgs white splashscreen after it.3 combo button will not working for recovery n only download mode accessible.
no more method for me . Juz flashing back to stock firmware JVU +CF-ROOT with odin was da answers
but if u dont familiar with odin.seek guide here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149455
but use it as ur last method!
clashing between titan.....no! kernel maybe da reason.do some wiping before changing kernel or ROM. n format system if necessary before flashing!

Reboots into CMW with Slim Bean 4.3 and Semaphore
Hi guys, any news on the subject? Exactly the same thing happening to me. I did a clean installation of Slim 4.3, after using CM10 and everything seems to be working perfectly except it reboots into CWM every 1-2h!!! I haven't changed any configuration and didn't mess with the kernel that came with the ROM, which is Semaphore... Is it a kernel issue? Should I try to flash the latest version?

I run into the same problem with my current update of my I9000 to CM 10.2.1 and the Semaphore Kernel 3.3.0 (JB).
Any ideas on this issue from the pros?
I realized that it was happening to me only when I was loosing the network coverage, like being in the underground or roaming or things like that... I don't know if it happens to everyone but in my case it's definitely this. If there is no network available my phone will boot into recovery after a while. If the signal is OK, it doesn't happen. Maybe it has something to do with the modem?!

Deactivate Deepidle in Semaphore manager app and these reboots should be gone.
Did the trick for me.

Yes, I did this and so far no reboots anymore.
Hello!
I flashed a new kernel for my smoothie rom. And when i go to the wifi settings on/off button is locked on. In wifi settings there is only a text "Starting WIFI".
I think it's not working because the kernel has lowered wifi voltage.
Does anybody else have same problem?
I'll be very grateful if someone would find a fix for this problem.
:good:
Only an idea:
Did you a restart of your device (after flashing kernel)???

I have restarted it and i have flashed other kernels too, but i have still that problem.
I flashed M.O.W ROM JB 4.1 and then kernel, it worked

I flashed Phenom Kernel v6.1 for 4.3, and wifi is not working anymore. Someone had the same problem there, I don't know how to change my router's channels. Any other ideas?
Ps. I would like to post to dev page, where this kernel is but I can't do that because I don't have over 10 posts in this forum. Isn't that pretty stupid?

You'll most likely have to play with your kernel settings.

How do i do that?
I had same issues with CM10.2, default kernel, default settings. For me CM10.2 is just a transition ROM between JB and KK and Stable version is more like last Nightly before CM team moved to KK development. CM10.1 runs better on Captivate, has more device specific options and is stable indeed.
