I need someone who can dump aboot partition (NOT boot, ABOOT) from his L5 / L7. It doesn't matter the rom you have, the color of your device, your wallpaper, your kernel or your baseband.
How to dump it:
dd={partition} of=/sdcard/aboot.img
Upload it and reply with the link, something great is coming aka (G*4A*)!
PS: before u ask, aboot is bootloader partition (LK)
Cool, so you want to try a dualboot, and some advanced features like that, available in a Grub? Share the risks about making that with our phone. :good:
We also think that we need more options about roms, but maybe isn't my work share this with you. :cyclops:
Regards.

Here it is stated that the first 1 MB of the flash memory should be reserved for the aboot partition. So, @linuxxxx can you ask your friend for a partition contents example for me to have a look and mess around with my phone in the mmcblk0 structure? maybe we can find the required things.
UPDATE!!!!!
Afther various attempts at finding the aboot partition i think i've found the bugger. I hope @linuxxxx and his friend port G4A to L7. I do not have L5 but hope fully i will edit the post once again with the steps i took to find the partition. Or if you found the guide and want to know the partition's name, the name is (hopefully this one is because i have compared it with LG G2 and LG G and Pro partition layouts and this one seems to be the aboot) "mmcblk0p5". Some mini info abut the file:
size=4096KB
name=aboot.img
contents=what's needed (hopefully)
partition=mmcblk0p5

Nope a lot of companies like LG remove it from the kernel. But e.g. for our phone, you can download the complete kernel sourcecode (without ramdisk) and rebuild it on your own with the defconfig in there.

Write it on your own Search a board with the same hardware and try to apply it to your device... But I think you really need patience and definitly a way to unbrick. Email them for the sources, cause the used opensource and have to provide it. CMIIW.

Delete the LG framework from the LG's Rom and place the framework of the HTC's and replace the permissions too in the /etc folder u will get more functionality
And replace the bootclasspath in the starting of the lines in the init.rc of ur kernels ramdisk

What do you think? Can't you see all the threads in the Development forums full of Dual-Boot discussions and solutions?
The O3D dual boot (but from SD , not internal) should work . But didn't try it (I don't have O4X) .
Google changed the mount point of the internal SD from /sdcard to /data/media .This made the dual-boot semi impossible from internal (because it has been EXT4 not FAT32) but if you have external SD dual-boot should be easy .

When ive got some time im gonna have a look into porting ubuntu touch (to be honest im completely new with porting roms etc, i just need the know how) shame that the previous attempers files are down, would be much easier to work from them.

Yes! the inners of multiboot are working from a kexec call, this allows you boot into a kernel, load a new kernel into memory then reboot straight into the new kernel (to the same effect as flashing another kernel via recovery but when you reboot again you reboot back into the original kernel) so yes it is confusing

Performance doesn't decrease. Second, third, ... roms are stored on the NAND, access speed is the same.
