Okay, the bootloader is locked. Is it possible to bypass this by patching the Fire HD's bootloader?

Rest assured, some of the most talented people in Android development are working to find an exploit that works. If there is a way to modify the KFHD, they WILL find it. If not, you will still have a "fully" functional Amazon product portal.

Wonder how heavily I should invest in hardware modifications;
Hello Guys. I really appreciate your help and dedication.
I spent a lot of time tryng fix my XT862. When I bought it, was working with Att. When I didn't have access to MY Contacts I install a new ROM but I can't make to work again.
The phone is unlock and rooted, v.5.7.906.xt863. the Baseband is N_03.18.29P but if I flash to "radio883", I get Baseband unknow .
I changed the build.prop 1 to 0 and 7 to 3.
Maybe my xt883 radio is not the correct one? Please help. Thanks

Try again from the start, but if the problem continues, check your version

I rooted with Motofail. The "Root Checker Advanced" show that the Droid is Rooted.
I tried again PetesMotorolaRootTools_v1.09 and I get the some massage from the top.
Is the Droid Rooted? I don't think so because I can't uninstall system apps. What I have do to please. thanks

I would suggest you to downgrade the OS to an older version because version 7.4.9 has its system partition shrunk,so the root exploit doesn't work.
thankyou
It is possible to root 7.4.9. There are also Kfhd images on the forums that are pre-rooted.
I rooted 7.4.9 with Root Many Android. I didn't flash bootloaders or roms or anything, but root worked.
thanks for the help, noob question tho im not sure what you mean by images that are pre rooted

You can download a drive image that is already rooted. Imagine someone roots the device & then makes a copy of the entire drive.

Bin4ry is the *root many Android* tool. It's the same process that's rooted the Kindle for some time although I didn't know it did 7.9 but it won't hurt to try. If it fails you won't hurt your tablet.

Hey guys, I apologize if this is the wrong area for this kind of stuff, so feel free to move it or have me repost somewhere else.
So about a month or so ago I installed CWM 11 to my Nook HD, and haven't updated CWM11 since then.
When I go to update, Do I have to download and install each update, or can I do the latest one it shows me? I'm new and I don't want to break my tablet.
Hope this might be useful.
If you are using nightlies version then download the latest and (don't update)clean install it. Follow exact process as you first installed cm11.
If you are using milestone (m2, m4...etc) you can update from your setting menu.
