Hi,
I'm using Outlook (Hotmail) app on my P7.
Everything works fine, but the only thing that does not work is downloading mail in realtime.
Sometimes it works but most or the times it doesnt work.
I went by all the settings but I cant find the problem.
Can someone please help?
Outlook.com App
Hi,
Same problem here, I've tried to :
- Enable notifiactions in the app settings and choose the push sync option,
- Enable notification for Outlook.com in the Huawei notification manager (put on Allow)
- Protect Outlook.com in the Huawei "Protected apps"
But incoming emails are not pushed, I have a randowm delayed distribution
Now my outlook/hotmail accounts are set on mail native app and push is OK.
No problem with my other mobile phones (i9505, Mi2s, XT910...)

I have my mail set up through pop3 to connect to gmail and all works fine, except that once I send an email I then receive a copy of the email I just sent. Any ideas?
It doesn't really cause any real functional issues other than just being really annoying.

It sounds to me like you have gmail configured to save sent emails in a sent folder and you have POP configured to download that folder as well.
I think those are settings you probably need to tweak in your Gmail pop settings on the web and not in the messaging client on the device.
interesting, I looked within gmail's settings and did not find anything to do with copies of sent items. is there a way to configure this within wm outlook?
is imap a better interface? does it work with wm outlook?
Thanks
Gmail:
Forwarding and POP/IMAP
1. Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since 7:49 am
Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)
Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on
Disable POP
2. When messages are accessed with POP >> keep in inbox
3. Configure your email client (e.g. Outlook, Eudora, Netscape Mail)
Configuration instructions
My understanding is this is a 'side effect' (i.e. nothing you can fix) of how gmail handles E-mails...
Any time you send an e-mail from your device you will receive a copy of it on your phone (when using gmail)..
My understanding is this is limited to gmail only....
That said, I only check my 2 gmail accounts from my phone, and never reply on the phone, so doesn't bother me too much ;-)
Had the same issue. Solved the problem by switching to IMAP protocol. Now everything works flawlessly
And by the way, this relates to Gmail only, other mailboxes work fine

that's odd, I switched to imap last night and tried it out with the same results. I'll check my settings again to verify the changes took effect.
otherwise, it looks like I may be stuck for now. not a big deal, though. thanks for the info guys.
Mine does the same thing from the phone. If I send through my outlook account with my gmail I don't get a copy of the message.

Hi, yes Hotmail does support push email. Just set up your email as normalNext step consist of configuring your email sync option.
go to MENU -> ACCOUNTS -> ACCOUNTS
Then, MENU ->OPTIONS -Select HOTMAIL. Select Opttion 3, i.e SYNC SCHEDULE. Then set the SYNC FREQUENCY to 'AS IT ARRIVES' (Drop down list).
Press Done, and exit.
Thats it! Ejoy your push email!!! Well obviously if this fails, i dont know what to suggest ...
everytime i try and set it up as normal it doesnt detect any settings or gives me a chance to download like it does with a o2 account it just opens the web browser i cant figure out how to use the push feature to get it to come to the phone
Hello,
I've created a MS Exchange account on my LG 2x. It worked fine - emails arrived, calendar sync worked.
Then it suddenly stopped refreshing. Clicking Refresh in Email app did nothing at all.
I've tried to change the settings, but there is no Account Settings button for Exchange account.
Questions:
1) Why would it suddenly stop working?
2) How to edit account settings for Exchange account?
Thanks.

1) Don't know, any number of reasons, but it happens frequently.
2) Phone settings/Accounts and synchronisation. (You said you tried this, I remember it was hard to find, but it is somewhere in there.)
It's my advice however to ditch the LG Email client completely as en exchange-client, it has numerous bugs. I delete the lgemail.apk and instead push email.apk from CM7. It just works.
ask you admin - maybe there are some changes on server side?
never have used default mail client. mail clients on modacos roms and cm7 works good for me. also for me there is another server address on phone used than in outlook.
There wasn't any changes - all other Android and Nokia phones still work.
I know that I have to go to Settings - Accounts and Sync. There I select my Exchange account, but all I can do is check/uncheck Sync Contacts and Sync Calendar and also Remove Account. No any kind of settings anywhere..
I installed the bloody thing again, and here's what you do.
o Enter the LG e-mail app.
o Press menu
o Press settings
o Press the account name at the top. (I remember this was confusing the first time I used it, it just looks like a heading, not a menu-item.)
You'll find the log-in settings at the bottom.
There you go.
(Sorry for suggesting it was in Settings/Accounts, where it should have been, guess I confused it with the regular e-mail app. It was from memory only - whenever I install a new ROM the lg email client is the first thing to go.)
Hello,
I have gmail set as my default email app. However, when notifications arrive, when I open emails, create emails or share and select to email the built in mail app starts and not gmail. Gmail opens fine by itself.
I've tried unselecting then selecting gmail in the default apps section, but it does nothing.
Any ideas?

Push notification is not working for me with the mail apps I tried,
Yahoo app, Spark app, Mail app (by Edison software), onMail app and Protonmail app.
All these apps doesn't push any notification and they doesn't even check if I got new email.
Note; I don't and not planing to get Google services in my phone as I live
Which mail app do you use in LineageOS ?
Appreciate your help!

Yahoo should be able to do push notification if you're using IMAP.
However, if none of those apps are receiving push notifications or even doing scheduled mail checks, it sounds like they aren't configured correctly.
Make sure the mail app is configured to do scheduled mail checks; has push mail enabled; is using the IMAP protocol; and is not being optimised by the system.
With some mail apps, there could be settings at both app and individual account level for scheduled mail check and push mail. If the settings are not on at the app level, that might override the account settings. Make sure the settings are on at both levels if applicable.
Try an email client that is on F-Droid like FairEmail or k-9email, these could work as no google services (in this case cloud messaging for push notifs) are allowed on F-Droid.

Thank you!!
FiarEmail do work, and it has tons of features.
One thing, Yahoo app is the only email app from the mentioned before that do appears under "Settings"->" Account" and there is a feature where it say Sync. Strangely it doesn't sync, not sure why but it should work.
Anyway FairEmail so solve the problem,
Thanks again
