[Q] [Respond ASAP please] CWM Installed before flashing, uninstall possible? - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
First of all, yes, I'm completely new to modding Android phones. Not so new to modding in general though, which makes me question why I made such a nooby mistake... but alas, I now have to ask what many might think to be a nooby question in order to fix said mistake.
Just as the title said, I accidentally installed CWM before flashing my phone, and am now unable to launch into Recovery Mode. I know that there's a way to get it revert it to stock recovery, but as far as I've been able to tell, there's no way to do that without going into the Recovery menu in the first place. Does anybody have an idea what I can do?
My phone can still launch to the firmware (stock firmware, but am planning on installing Cyanogenmod 11), so for now I'm alright but considering the OTHER problems I'm having with the stock firmware, I'd really like a way to get back to my installation ASAP. If I can't, I'll get to my problems with the stock FW later...

Beginner question on Modding Galaxy S

Hey Guys. If you want to save time, jump to the bold part :
I'm new to the modding scene and have gone around the forum reading all about Roms, kernels, rooting, etc.
Last week I ordered my first Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy S 8gb from Singapore.
I will be receiving it in about 4 hours. I have been told that it's on stock eclair 2.1, not sure which firmware version.
Since this phone is absolutely new, I am posting this question just to make sure I dont screw it up on the first night (literally).
I want to install custom ROM to the phone, so here's what I have understood I have to do :
1) Perma Root the phone
2) Install Rom Manager from Market
3) Reboot in clockwork recovery, choose update.zip (I have decided to go with the "Ultimate Rom" which is a combination of Doc's and Voodoo's works among others with some added themes.
My question is, is there anything else I need to know ? Do I need to make backup using Rom Manager of my STOCK Rom ?
When I do a "Factory reset", does phone revert to stock Rom ?
Thanks for the awesome work guys.

[Q] Before I flash ROM, just to confirm..

I`m going to try and flash this ROM...
file:///C:/Users/Colm/Desktop/[ROM]%20[04.01.2011]%20Darky's%20v8.0%20Gingerbread%20Edition%20%E2%98%85%20JPY%20%E2%98%85%20%20%20Darky's%20&%20R64's%20Finest.%20-%20xda-developers.htm
I want to make sure I`m doing it right, I am rooted and applied OCLF, from what I`ve read I`m supposed to un-install/disable OCLF, install ROM manager and apply CWM, flash into recovery, factory data wipe, also wipe cache, ( I want to start from scratch ) select the update (CWM), then the ROM and then let it do its thing?
I`m on stock everything, just rooted and OCLF, I`ve read through Darky`s instructions, I`m to assume I just follow them regardless what I have on my phone.
I`d love some confirmation on this, just to be sure, nearly forgot, I have SGS i9000, thanks
You seem to have it right.
What version of Android are you running right now? If it's 2.2, you'll likely need to "fix" your recovery mode. You want recovery 2e (if you get into recovery mode, you'll notice a 2e or 3e in the top of the screen). 3e won't let you run unsigned files like you'll need to in order to install Darky's or another ROM.
If you need the fix this, flash any of the kernels in the dev forum (for example, I have flashed SpeedMod).
I`m on 2.1, stock, so I`m good to go then?
One other question, does it matter how I rooted my phone?

Looks like you're good to go so long as you're sure the lag fix is disabled. The source of root doesn't matter.
I`m trying to figure out how to disable it now, do I just un-install it or what?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with OCLF and can't offer any (credible) advice. I'm sure there's a thread somewhere discussing the topic and will offer instructions.
Well I manage to do it and it looks fupping deadly, thing is NOW WHAT DO I DO?

[q] nexus one not letting me get into recovery

a few weeks back i got an update from t-mobile i think it was 2.2.1. i was running a custom rom by evil, I think it was sense. it never fully installed as it came up with a black scrren with a exclamation mark and a little android guy. every time i go into recovery now, i get the same thing. this also converted the phone back to stock rom.
im sorry, but i am a newbie when it comes to flashing new recovery images. do you think this is what needs to be done? i had clockworkmod's on there before, had a buddy do it for me.. and he didnt explain to me how to fix install it lol. i do install roms etc.
any way i should go with this?
You guessed right, you need to reflash the recovery, and possibly re-root before that.
You can follow the guides in Wiki, found in my signature.
did it, having a problem installing roms now :| gonna post in that roms thread.

[Respond ASAP] CWM Installed before Root.

NOTE: This was posted in the past, but I messed up the wording... probably why I didn't get help. I said that I had forgot to flash, but what I forgot to do was to Root my phone. Here's a copy-paste of my previous post, but with fixed wording.

If u remove & insert battery, & then try entering recovery mode(Home+Power keys)...u surely have accessed recovery by now

Complete Recovery and ROM installation issues

Hi everyone. Please bear with me, I did my best to search for the solution to my problem but I've run into dead ends apparently and need help!
I tried to flash an update to my stock sm-g900a, it was a while ago so I don't remember exactly what I was flashing... Basically now it says "Firmware Upgrade Encountered" and that's where I'm stuck.
All I wish to do is install a fresh ROM, whether it be stock or custom, and a recovery if needed. Every ROM and the SafeStrap that I saw seemed to require the phone be rooted, which it is not. I would prefer if it was rooted though. I simply need someone to point me in the right direction as to which ROM and recovery (if needed) to flash in Odin (I do not have an SD card) and to tell me in which order they must be flashed. I honestly thought this would have been a straight forward thing, by no matter how much I searched on here and on Google by no luck. I'm not picky as to features in the ROM etc. but would prefer root if possible.
Thank you for all your help, sometimes you just need a hand from a person with experience!
