[Q] Is dead the development for this devices? - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I'm wondering, because It only have a few working ROMs with ICS or Kitkat and both without sense

Dying. Almost dead.

It doesn't have to die. All it takes are a few people who enjoy developing to put in some effort and make a name for themselves! This goes for me as well

Well, what can we do about that? I can offer me as a software tester, if that helps

There aren't many roms to choose from, but android revolution has been quite good on battery life for me. And I'm a pretty heavy user.

Thanks for your input. Was the sense or sense-less version?

I am really satisfied with the battery life in Android Revolution HD
IMO you'll regret the decision to take the phone...
anyway, revolution hd is good, i use it without sense.
I have reason to take my inc, the this years glastonbury app is actually really useful as it has a clash finder and a reminder function. So many years I have missed things due to losing track of time (i may have not been sober to be fair)
To everyone else, thanks for the advice. Looks like i will be going for revolution!

Usually my battery last 2 days atleast with Android HD 1.0.2

gotta say....i'm kinda disappointed

Why is the ROM development taking forever for this phone? I am just an Android enthusiast and have the utmost respect for the devs, but I am contemplating returning this phone for lack of support.

I guarantee that when the gingerbread or icecream sandwich update comes out development will pick up. What we really need right now is a way to get our radio compatible with optimus 3d roms. There's a lot of development for that phone which is identical except for the fact it doesn't support all the same basebands. Its roms work for the Thrill except no 4g and no mms. They have a cyanogenmod project going too.
EDIT: maybe getting some bounties going would help...

Anybody know where to find the CPU frequency tables in the kernel source?
I'm working on a kernel and can't for the life of me find the actual frequency tables.

They have a few things going for it. I love the phone but this is my first Android device.

I'm not disappointed due to lack of support, as it's a new phone without a lot of hype. I'm REALLY disappointed with the quality control LG is putting out there. I really wanted to like the Optimus 2X/G2X, but they had awful QC. I figured they'd fix it for the 3D, but sure enough, mine is going right back to Amazon for an exchange. 5 hours of battery while idle and a touch screen that's all over the place doesn't instill confidence, nor does the constant rebooting. Everything about this phone screams "PLACEHOLDER!", and it's a shame because it's a solid phone that FEELS great.

Do we have any dev?

People, I guess we have now lost all our dev's...
Kajura leaved us, busy life or whatever..
Nik's USB Port is broken, means we will have to wait a while.
And do we have other devs here or something similar?
If we won't get any new roms, I guess I will stay on Nik Trinity XL Rom. And you?
Or is anyone thinking about a device update? My parents will buy me maybe end of this year a new one but I don't know. Maybe One V, another device, built to end up without many updates I guess.

Floatshow and djpbx are still working on a JB ROM build from source We will survive that. i can't afford a new device anyway atm so I just hope for Nik's return Till then I'll stick on Project X...

There are others helping them, so patience will do it I'm sure they'll make it somehow
I think floatshow said that one (or more, don't remember) of the builds booted but screen remained black. So it's getting closer

It'll be great if Kaijura uploaded the video fix for 8.4 before he started being inactive :/

I-957 Development?

Just curious if development for this device has been lost for our lowly 8.9 LTE? I know we never had any serious effort but I would love to have a good rom to run on this device. I ran the Danno Rom for a short while but had to go back to stock due to issues I can't remember now. This really is a perfect form factor device just need some Dev love for it. Come on guys this should be interesting because it is a challenge to find the right stuff to make things work on this device.
Orlando what say you? Have you moved on to a new device? Still using the I-957?

This whole forum is basically dead. But I too world love to see some new development. If only I was smart enough and had the patience and time I might try to learn. But I'm lacking the smarts and patience.

I have to say i am pretty happy with dan-htc's AOKP Jellybean build. Never expected a lot with this tab, considering my Note2 basically doubles processing and RAM. I'm just happy not to be stuck on Stock TW for my Internet browsing and reading lol.

It should be very easy to get the newest aokp build for this tab. It's above me but it's out for the skyrocket which is basically the same thing

We are doomed, I think we are better off selling this tablet and getting the international version that seems to have a lit more of support and many roms updated to choose from...

The Goodbye/ByeBye thread

This thread is for all those ROOTED users who have SOLD/THROWN AWAY their HTC Salsas, NOT for advertising and putting salsas up on sale.
This helps devs keep track of active users
You can optionally tell us why you sold/threw your salsa. You might have sold/thrown away your salsa because of
HTCs lack of support.
Lack of developers.
Contract got over.
Obsolete specifications (screen size, processor and so on).
You threw it in a dustbin because it lagged.
You used it as an antique piece to renovate your house or donated it to a museum because you bricked it.
Gave it off as charity to a church/mosque/temple.
Dropped it in the toilet.
Any reason.

Hi
I am still using the HTC Salsa as my primary phone .Ans I am thankful to developers like u to keep the fun alive in this 2.5 years old device :good:
Have been using the stock ROM as all the JB ROMS are having camera , Battery & GPS issue on my device
I plan to upgrade it by December this year , and the main reason for my upgrade is 1.Most Games are not supported on this device
2.I need a bigger screen and more RAM ( i think the iPhone 5 Screen Best suits me ) as i mainly read ebooks on my device ( other than Whats app and calling )
3.SNS integration for me is not a BIG buying decision ,( LOL I know u would be thinking then why i bought a phone with 'f- button ' that was mainly as I am a BIG BIG HTC fan and at the time pf buying Salsa in the budget I only had HTC Wildfire as a alternative option )
4.My next phone could be the HTC One Mini .As mentioned I like the screen size not more than 4.5
Well i just bought nexus as my primary phone, but im not selling my salsa cuz so many memories left behind. I wat to say thanx for all developers in here especially fo bigbear who helping me a lots back there.
Thanks for all support, God bless you all :beer::thumbup:

Still use Salsa as primary phone. Maybe next year I buy a new phone because CPU works a bit slow and internal memory is too small.
In this time I will help to develop the newer Android versions for the old Salsa.
I got a tab 2 in March End, I'm using it for screen size as primary device now. I won't sell my salsa cause I'm changing my ISP now so hopefully by diwali I do compiling from source of CM and PA ROMs..... I have all the necessary things only thing bothering was internet. I hope that gets resolved. Once it does I'm on a roll.
crest_delta one mini is not a bad choice, look out for more. Push the threshold to 5 inches. Cause anything under 4.5 isn't too great. I got a 7 inch tab for phone calls, trust me tab is fun, if you are ready to bear with a radio set like thing to hold in hands while talking on a phone call. Or better is to keep your salsa and get a nexus 7 WiFi and give a hotspot to it from salsa.

Gave my salsa to my bro, bought xolo q700.
although I've gained an iPhone 4s I'm still using my salsa for satnav etc, but my kids use it alot when I'm not around. i would keep developing but my divorce is kinda messy right now and i cannot do anything.
Sold my Salsa last month.
Got Nokia lumia 925.I must say i really didnt want to sell it for the memories but i use only 1 sim and hence there was no point in keeping it.
@godsgreat_87 how much will they give for a salsa?
