The 3g doesn't seem any faster than the regular edge connection.
I'm using my TIlt as a router to play on xbox live and my connection keeps lagging. Even just browsing the internet seems. slow

Is your connection configured using WAP.cingular or ISP.cingular ? From what I understand from reading here, ISP is faster for tethering since it does not go through AT&T's proxy to reach the internet.
I'm using WAP.cingular, and I get anywhere between 40-80kb/sec when tethered to my laptop.
CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO USE My WIFI Router SOFTWARE TO MAKE A INTERNET SHARING WITH A WIRELESS BROADBAND ?

I'm between Internet providers at my house. I have the Tmobile tm-ac1900 router (the one made by asus).
Is it possible to somehow share my phones LTE connection thru the router to my LAN?
I thought that was an option of the router but I can't figure it out.
I hope this questions reads clearly.
Basic terms: house Internet is out, I want to use my phone LTE connection to supply Internet to my LAN through the router... So I would assume connect my phones wifi tethering somehow to the router as the WAN so it would supply Internet to my hardwired devices to the router.
Thanks in advance.
Maybe, pay your phone bill?
I would say no cause I don't see that on my router

You can try with a microUSB to USB cable. Under Setting / Tethering and Mobile Hotspot, there is the option to use USB tethering. I have never used USB tethering but it's worth a try. It all depends if the router can take an "internet" connection through USB...most common routers take a cable, RJ45 or RJ11 connection.
LOL... I'd actually have to pay my CABLE bill, but thanks for the suggestion anyway.
I was so sure I saw that option somewhere, to be able to share your LTE/mobile data connection with your local network? Of course I didn't care when I read it (or mis-read it as it were) and of course I can't find it now.
I've been using a USB wifi adapter and mobile tethering which works fine, but only for a single machine at a time.... and now that I have unlimited data - I'd like to use it, at least until I pay my cable bill anyway
You need something like that

I can't seem to find any functionality for bluetooth tethering to my laptop with my new Z3C. I can tether to other phones via bluetooth just fine, but no luck with my laptop. Anyone else have any luck? Tried some preliminary searches and couldn't find anyone else with the same problem.
I connected my Z3 to my MacBook and transferred a file successfully. I have not tried it with my Windows PC.

I'm able to connect the bluetooth to my laptop for file transfers, but internet tethering is what I'm looking for.
I am able to use the WiFi hotspot with no problems. Is there a particular reason you have to use Bluetooth? I have not tried accessing the internet connection over Bluetooth but I will give it a try, maybe later tonight.

I'm puzzled why you would use bluetooth for internet tethering when it's so much slower than WiFi. Why not just use the phone as a WiFi portable hotspot?

I find Bluetooth is plenty stable while being better on battery life for when I need to eek out those extra minutes of life. And I only use it for low speed stuff. No torrents over cell. Obviously not necessary (wifi works fine) but just something I like to have as an option.

I just tried Bluetooth tethering and it worked. It was very slow but I might have exceeded my high speed tethering allotment for the month. I switched over to WiFi hot spot and it was slow too. Usually I cannot tell the difference between the hot spot on LTE and WiFi.

Was this on your Macbook? If not I'd be curious how you got it to work.
Yes, it was on my MacBook.
Hi !
I have a S21 Ultra, and use it as a modem for my house with wifi tethering.
I can access my printer with my computer on this wifi network
But here is the problem : I can't access the device on this network from my phone.
I can't print from my phone,
I can't use app mirroring on Windows (open samsung flagship apps on W10 computer) because both S21 and computer have to be on the same wifi network.
Is there any way to make the phone part of his own wifi tethering ? Or workaround ?
Thanks !
no what your trying to do is hack someones phone....its not gonna happen!!!!

Don't understand your message... It's my own phone that doesn't detect itself in the wifi network list. I have no problem to connect network from one phone onto another. It is on the same phone, both emitter and receiver

I think you can try to make a hotspot on the PC and share wifi (from the phone) to the PC hotspot and connect the printer itself to the PC hotspot
Tethering is like connecting a modem to a device. Hotspot is creating a local wifi network for devices to connect to.
Tethering vs Hotspot: Difference and Comparison
Tethering allows a device to share its internet connection with other devices via a physical connection (such as USB), while a hotspot creates a Wi-Fi network to share the device's internet connection wirelessly.

Based on your description you are creating a hotspot on the phone that the laptop and printer connect to? If so then the phone cannot "join" that network as the wifi stack in the phone is being used to run a network and the phone has access to the mobile data network the wifi is representing.
No, only the computer connects to the phone.
but create a second hotspot on the computer that connects the printer to the computer

Your phone wifi module can either act as a broadcaster or receiver at a time, but not both. It will only handle one wifi network at a time, either the one it's broadcasting (endogenous mobile hotspot) or the one it's receiving (exogenous WiFi)
You can see this as a prompt when you turn on mobile hotspot. Whenever you turn on Wifi Hotspot, your WiFi will automatically get turned off. It will even display a notification and ask for your consent (at least mine does)

Wow! That's nice to hear. Haven't used that feature on a phone before. Didn't know it was doable. Well, I guess you learn something new everyday.
thats what hackers and LEA use.....smh
