I've installed APX Driver correctly. but My PC cannot detect device in apx mode.. although I've connected it in correct way.
I want to install recovery image. What should I do?
p.s. my 2x (su660) is in stock ICS and rooted.
I have the same problem. Your phone just got a bad USB port, you can notice it when you try to MTP/mass Storage, sometimes works, sometimes won't, the only thing that works everytime is the USB/AC adapter for charging the battery, it seems that only data broke.
I have developed a method to increase the chances of getting smartflash and apx working in this case. First remove battery and USB cable, then:
For Smartflash: hold down vol - > insert USB cable > insert battery.
For APX: hold down vol + and - > insert battery > insert cable.
It's better to do this with device manager window open, because smartflash and apx mode sometimes takes a few seconds to appear under the list, this is to make sure you won't miss the chance when it works.
I tried your "for APX" way.
I held down the vol + and vol -, and insert battery, and insert USB cable to PC.
then my phone's screen shows LG logo, and some seconds after, show the battery charging graphic.

This happens sometimes. Take out your battery and wait 10 seconds or more, then try again.
Also, do it fast, insert the battery then the USB cable right after, don't wait no more than 2 seconds after inserting the battery to insert the cable.
Did you try to mass storage or MPT to check if your USB data is broken like mine? Note that sometimes it works in the first try, just remove the cable and try again, if you get no response from your computer or a "USB Device Not Recognized", your are in the same boat as me.
Since mine is broken, I use AirDroid to transfer files.

Hi,
I want to update my ROM from a standard WM5 to WM5SE rev 5.0. Following instructions, I downgraded with the button ROM to let me CID unlock my G3 Jammin. The butotn ROM installed, but when it reset it would not boot and both the red and blue lights would flash together, the screen would flash on, and then it would shut off.
This pattern is repeated every couple of second and doesn't stop until I pull the USB cable out, after which it repeats once more then switches off. I can't turn the phone back on with the power button. From here I can get back into the locked cycle by powering on with the USB cable plugged in (back into reset cycle), or into windows with the mains power cable (see below).
I think this means that the problem is related to my USB cable being plugged in. When I put the mains power cable in, the PDA will boot into windows. Related to this is what I think may be the main culprit. In setting, Windows says the battery is on 0%!!! Even the mains power cable doesn't seem to ever charge it, so I think it must be a software problem related to the ROM. Inceidentally, I recall that I had to softreset near the end of Button ROM's install, perhaps this is part of the problem...
Now I can reinsert the USB cable only during the Windows boot process, which as mentioned has to be initiated with the mains power cord, ie. I swap over half way through. If I change from mains power to USB after Windows has fully booted then the phone resets and the above reseting cycle occurs again.
Once Windows is fully booted with the USB cable in everything is stable and Activesync detects the phone. The problem is that when I try to reinstall a stable ROM, the update software throws the following error: Error [220] mains battery power. So the software I believe is reading that the battery is less than 50% (ie. probabaly thinks there is 0 charge left) and I can't reinstall a new ROM!!
The other thing to note is that I can get into bootloader mode with the mains power cable, but as soon as I try to switch over to the USB cable, the phone resets and it again gets locked into the perpetual reset cycle.
Please help me!! Any ideas are appreciated.
Gavin.
Hi,
Found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1216580&postcount=23
Seems like a similar problem. He solved it by replacing the battery. Is it possbile to destroy a battery while flashing a ROM?

Same problem again:

Wow 40 views, and not a single idea?
Well I think I'm going to invest in a cradle, so that I can have both mains power and a usb connection, hopefully I'll be able to reflash with this. Anyone have expereince with this method? What is a good cradle?
Hi Everyone,
I was running GR-11 last night. My phone started acting weird so i decided to reboot it. When it shut off it didnt turn back on. I hit the power and still nothing. I was eventually able to get into download mode with a combination of usb and buttons without battery. So i flashed back to stock. Still the same problem, if i turn the phone off i cannot get it to turn back on unless i pull out the battery, plug in the usb, put the battery in, wait for the charging screen then i can turn it on and remove the usb. However, when the phone is running it says USB connected even though there is no usb cable connected. If i leave the usb cable plugged in while the phone turns on i can use ADB but cannot mount as drive.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks
tldr; phone constantly says usb connected. Cannot mount as drive. Cannot use adb unless phone boots with usb connected.
Sounds like a broken usb port. Get a Warranty replacement.
Well darn.
I had read a thread about possible corrosion of the usb contacts on the phone so i used an emery board to clean the contacts but no luck. i guess it will have to go in for warranty repair on monday.

The handful of stock Froyos I've worked with all had sticky USB notification after use in development mode. They'd be unconnected but the icon and message remained.
If you can't do the extra clicks for mounting when the message is valid and connected; that plus your booting problem points to a port malfunction.

Yup my rogers corporate rep agress and they are sending me an advance replacement for delivery early next week.
Glad i was able to flash back to stock
I appear to be having wired issues related to the USB port as has been previously reported on the Galaxy S2.
When not plugged in to anything, it constantly says it is charging. It will not let me select between USB debugging mode as it says the cable is connected.
Despite it's belief that it is charging, when I actually plug it in to the mains to charge, it doesnt charge!!
If I power off the device, it shuts down correctly, however it will constantly switch between the grey battery icon, then a almost full green one, then off. It then wont allow me to turn on the device. Ive tried plugging it in to the mains (but I guess that as it wont charge this way, this is why it wont let me turn it on this way either) the only way I can boot it up is holding vol up, middle button and power together for 10 seconds or so. It then goes to CWM recover where I can reboot the device
If I plug in a jig, that allows me to connect a USB flash drive, it all seems to work OK. it no longer says it's charging, and i'm able to mount the drive.
The only way I can actually make it charge, is by plugging in to a PC.
Im very careful with my USB connectors, and I can only think that slight dampness may have entered as the phone has been with me in the bathroom during showers.
I dont want to send my phone in for repair, my first plan is to wait it out and hopefully any moisture dries out. Ive tried cleaning the inside of the USB port, but it makes no difference.
If I changed the USB port myself, a) is that a hard task, b) would it solve my issue?
I had a very similar problem with my note.
Solution was to take out the battery and leave the cover off, in a dry p;ace over night. It could definitely be related to dampness in your phone.
Hi,i have been trying to flash the new v20 version to my Lg P880,and i have all the drivers installed, windows enabler etc...everything that says i must do in the tutorial-i did it...
But the problem is i cant enter the s/w mode without the battery.
When i remove the battery,i hold the volume - key and plug my usb cable in,and nothing happens.
I even tried it with volume + or holding both buttons-but it just wont enter the s/w mode.
I can enter it while the battery is still in the phone, but if i take it out-it wont.
What could be the issue?

it doesn't matter if your battery is in or not. try it with the battery still inside - if you can access S/W mode that way.
If you have desktop pc issue can be your PC usb port! Logically your phone need some kind of electric power to operate in SW mode, if you use front pc port or some kind of usb hub maybe they doesn't provide enough power, and when you put your battery its working..try to plug your phone in motherboard's usb port on backside of pc case!
I have similar situation where i had huge amount of different usb devices plugged in my pc, and SW mode only worked with battery...and sometimes lg tool asked me to reconnect the phone at the moment just before flash start (even so my phone was already in SW mode and recognized from lg tool), and then i had to put battery in phone otherwise lg tool said that phone is not conected!
But if you can go in SW mode, than you do not have a problem!
My phone is not charging with any charger. It doesn't show charging icon and it's not even detected by the PC. The computer detects the phone in fastboot mode but it still doesn't show 'charging'. The only way I could get it charged is by opening up the phone and directly charging the battery via the the +ve and -ve on the USB cable. Please help me out here.
Your device is a Motorola Device right ? Because Motorola Devices have their batteries internal . I suppose you're in the wrong Forum
I have had this problem all you need to do is hold volume down and power button go into bootloader keep it in there plug it into a computer with usb and it should say charging then just keep it in there for awhile and then it volume down and select normal power power on and hit volume up
