Upgrading Clockwork recovery Mod (CwM) 3.0.2.8x to the latest

Hi All
I was wondering how to upgrade the current CwM version to the latest version? I am currently running
CwM Dark Core Recovery v3.0.2.8x
DarkyROM 10.2.2
I want to eventually move to
CwM 4.0.x.x
CyanogenMod 7.1
Thanks
Mike
Just flash a nightly cyanogenmod rom and the cwm will update to the latest
it would be enough if you flash an kernel wich has this already included
(dont know if darkcore has )
you could try to flash dc 4.0.1?

[Q] how to restore CM kernel after vorkkernel install

I'd like to post this in vorkkernel thread, but I am not allowed.
I installed a vorkkernel on my Cm-nightly. I made a backup before.
What if I'd want to restore the original CM-kernel? I had to restore completely the backup, or boot.img is enough?
And, a new nigthly will overwrite the vorkkernel?
Thank you,
MJ
Just reflash the same/a new nightly and it'll be stock cm kernel again.
Advanced restore and boot restore only should do it. And yes a new nightly will overwrite it that's why you should use manual vorkkernel flashing to have the zip file on your sdcard to be able to flash it after your new nightly.
How to restore CM Kernel,
1. Restore boot.img from CM ROM (if u know how to), or
2. Flash a new CM ROM.
Example of a flashable zip of CM Kernel. This is my own compiled kernel from CM source for p990.

Will flashing new nightly override CM kernel?
- YES of cuz. CM7 comes with its own kernel. If u flash a new cm nightly, you need to reflash your vorkkernel.
1a. To restore the CM boot image:
Code:
dd if=/path/to/boot.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5
Thank you sooo much, great answers.
Thanks guys

CF Root Gingerbread kernels are safe but do not use CF Root ICS kernels - they are partly safe.
You can flash it from your current kernel/recovery
Flash CM 10.1 nightly
Flash GAPPS
Flash Superuser zip
Perform wipe fata / factory reset
Reboot
reboot to recovery,
flash CM kernel,
go advance and reboot recovery,
you on CM kernel now, do a full wipe.
flash Rom, flash Gapps.
done.

Hi,
Try reverting back to CWM 5. As far as i know, CWM 6 was made only with the intention of flashing Android 4.4 Kit Kat builds. Do post your result. You can find the CWM 5 link below. Hope I helped

First i just want to say.. i'm not good at English.. sorry . I hope you understand what i said
You don't need to flash cocore kernel after flashing cm12.1. because Cocore is only for JB..
there is a new build of cm12.1 18/07 instead 08/07, here is the link http://hastalafiesta.altervista.org/cyanogenmod-12-1-i9070-180715/
Try this method to install cm 12.1:
Make sure the boot.cpio.gz deleted from efs folder
1. flash cm11 by Epirex latest version.. it has TWRP recovery or if you have CWM v6.0.43, you can skip this step
2. reboot to recovery
3 do full wipes (cache, data, dalvik, system)
4. install rom
5. install gapps
6. reboot to system.. and You're done.
Hope it helps..

I have a long procedure but it helped me a lot, first flash the stock ROM with the help of Odin and then download latest cm12.1 build and gapps from here http://hastalafiesta.altervista.org/cyanogenmod-12-1-i9070-180715/ download ukf (universal kernel flasher) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137598
And download the root browser from play store. After flashing the stock ROM, root your phone, open root browser and extract the ROM somewhere, now open ukf and go where you extracted your ROM and then flash boot.img from the extracted files . after flashing go to recovery mod and you will see twrp. From there flash ROM and gapps, clear data ,cache, dalvik cache. From there restart your phone. First booting takes 15-30 mins , then you would get your 5.1.1, this method is long but effective
