Wich firmware has less bugs and better battery life?
For me the custom kernels as trinity are consuming battery very fast.
If I relock my bootloader and then restore my TA partition with stock kernel and deodexed custom rom will I encounter any problem?
.133
Bigger is better but since .133 is carrier-specific ROM so you will dont need that much
And Trinity kernel is battery-friendly, you maybe set the wrong setting. I can squeeze out 20 hrs of battery life with extensive workloads (Email, phone call, FB, Twitter and game...)
To relock your bootloader, you just restore the TA. It will automatically lock the BL (Require stock kernel and if you backup TA in 4.2/4.3 ROM, you must downgrade to 4.2/4.3 and restore TA then upgrade to 4.4)

Bro can you tell me how to setup trinity kernel? Maybe I messed it up with a bad move. I came from a G2 and battery life was amazing up to 17-20 hrs in stand by and 6-30 or 7 on screen. Using 30% brightness, full use of fb and whatsapp, few calls and H+ and LTE network.
And here the things just not work as good as before can u help me?
please provide fx trinity rom and kernel link for Xperia z1
Hii friend will you please provide me link to download fx trinity rom and kernel for Xperia z1 c6902...
Thanks in advance....

I don't think .133 is just carrier specific - otherwise, why would Sony then bothering with releasing firmware dedicated kernel sources?
well, the 133 FW cannot be rooted directly by Towelroot. You have to downgrade the kernel to 108, root then upgrade the kernel.
So the kernel in 133 is not just carrier specific, it has changes in it that stop root.

The external site is down? Or something. I cant get into that site anymore.
After few days dwelling in the forum, I wanna try going back to v10h euro open firmware.
Since so far I heard is the most battery friendly + heat efficient firmware available. Or is there any better? My local ones are up to v10e only.
(everything should work even if I'm in Asia right?)
Please upload a new working link(preferably d-host because its running max speed, or anything except our friendly average file hosting sites that limits download speed and stuff)
Many thanks!
Do tell me if there is any better firmware or solution. Thanks!
PM me if anything isn't suited for the forum.

If you are using any other version like CM or V20a you need LG Flash Tool to roll back to ICS then update it with LG Official Tool to get back on JB
Here is the link for that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2179126 .......the bootloader locked or unlocked does'nt effect the
downgrade. I personally did it 2 time from CM to ICS but now I have
backed up the JB without Installing any Apps, just rooted and Installed CWM with ROM Manager and took backup now I can easily switch form CM
or from any other ROM to Stock in 10 minutes. But I love Stable CM. Most of the time my Battery usage is 40 Hours round about.
Have fun.

In ICS the bootloader remais locked, only on JB is unlocked.
Use "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin" to decrypt the .kdz.
Use LGFlash Tool to flash. To change from JB to ICS is the only way.
Good luck

Yeah, I did that already! Thanks!
By the way, out of curiousity, speady, how did it last that long? In CM Combining lots of combination the best I got is 16 hours with 2:30 screen on time.

I don't use much apps like gemes and all this only Browser, XDA, whats app, viber, mostly. Always look at BBS how processor is running and this is how my usage and deep sleep looks like........
I have not much apps running in the Background as well......Viber really does eat your battery thats why I mostly look for it when its running the Background.
I have read about some firewall AF Firewall to be exact to stop apps running the background but I mostly use Greenify if some apps disturb me

i have official jb 4.1.2 firmware 9.1.F.1.120
which custom rom to put in?tnx, sorry for bad english
Honestly, you should experiment to see what roms work best for you. There are a lot of excellent roms on here made by really talented developers who put in a lot of hard work.
I'm currently using Peetr_ 's Hybrid rom. Even with no undervolting (due to locked bootloader), with only setCPU (set cpu profile to 384mhz-486mhz when screen is off) I'm getting insane battery life- 53 hours of standby time without charging and still ticking at 61% (granted, the phone was actually used for an hour.)
Hope you find something you like.

Refering to my post in the HybridRom thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48796459&postcount=1018 Do you know if there is a way to install the stock kernel to a unlocked bootloader phone.
As I have a permanently locked bootloader, I am unable to try out any custom kernels. I do have a Nexus 7 FHD with an unlocked bootloader, and by experience, a custom kernel does help with battery life, as it gives you the option to undervolt the phone, among other tweaks already implemented by the developers of the kernel.
I had a look at the NK kernel features, and it does give you those options. Slight undervolting should help. I suggest sticking with what you have. Remember that the main source of battery drainage would be the screen. My screen is off most of the time, with short timeouts and liberal usage of the on/off button (screen is off when listening to music).
Hope this helps.

Hello xda community,
I recently upgraded from my .257 4.2.2 JellyBean to .757 4.4.2 KitKat in a series of flashing (.257 -> .290 -> .681 -> .757) .
After successfully upgrading to latest stock firmware thanks to NUT for his awesome tuts, i lost no personal data or settings neither i lost root.
But, after wandering around in the forum i said it'd be awesome to get a DoomKernel and start overclocking.
After reading certain stuff, i got confused and didn't really know if it was safe for me to do it.
So, i would kindly like to ask you..
-How can i unlock my Bootloader without losing personal settings and data? ( I read i should backup TA, can i do it via TWRP recovery?, and can i after unlocking BL, restore everything except TA to get my stuff back?)
-Also, after unlocking BL, can i flash DoomLord's kernel without again losing stuff?
-And, I read that it is possible to "get" the camera (or some apps from the camera) from Z2 to the Z1, is it safe, for me to do it, and if it's not hard to explain, how can i do it?
-Can I keep Bravia Engine, Clear Audio, Bionz etc after all this?
Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance guys.!
Everything I learn from you, pushes me to keep learning more stuff about the android world, and makes me want to share it with everyone! I've been rooting and installing custom stuff to last gen 2011-2012 and some 2013 devices for my friends for about a year or more and also, started to explain some of the stuff i learned to them, every last bit that you tell me, i remember it, and transfer it to others, thank you guys, you are my Sensei
You unlock the bootloader by following the official guide from the don't website, just Google it.
You will lose all ordinal days etc.
Backup your TA first using TA backup tool, just Google it.
After unlock you can flash doom kernel using Fastboot

Ok, thank you. I backed up with TA backup from pc and also full backup from TWRP. Unlocked my BL and restored everything from TWRP except kernel and TA. Rebooted and everything was just as before but with BL unlocked. Then i flashed doomkernel v11 and all is fine yet. Haven't had even one problem. Now i want to try installing superuser MOD, so i can try the z2 camera port which sounds awesome. But i read it only works for. 681 fw versions. Can i downgrade just by flashing the one that NUT had uploaded.? Or is it safe for my fw version to try.? Sorry to bother you again mate
It should be fine on 757 firmware.
I am using it now on that FW
That's just great, which guide should i follow? this or this

The 2 links are the same thread.
As for that smart camera port, it is not working properly yet. I just meant the superuser mod is working fine.

Ooops, I'm sorry for that, fixed it.
As for the camera, I am thinking of downgrading to .681 and try this camera mod using this guide to apply superuser mod .
Is it worth to downgrade to .681 ?

im a unlocked bootloader user, but i notice a big decrease of camera quality, as lack of detail and noise presence.
being a locked bootloader user would i be able to flash 4k and timeshift video mods when being deodexed?

You can be in LB with all the mods in the stock based rom. deodex Roms do work on LB
So u can lock the BL with proper TA and then flash the stock kernel and enjoy
I got my TA partition backup, so I flash the stock kernel and then lock the bootloader? Where can I find stock .108 kernel?

LB
+Pros: x-reality, bionz works. TA still retain......
+Cons: no custom kernel, harder to root, install recovery and try custom rom...
Also more difficult to de-brick if somethings happen...
UB
+Pros : opposite the LB cons
+Cons: opposite the LB pros, also lost warranty if you lost TA backup when you UB (same like me)

I think that the photos quality is bad also on locked bootloader so we don't loose too much quality. Also unlocked bootloader don't have a strong noise reduction so the photos have more details and you can edit it on photoshop to obtain better result than Bionz
Well this is a major problem ... Guys have tried various method mirrorenabler on stock rom but no success. ... Therefore guys tell me which stock ROM is having screen mirroring in working condition ...
Mine bootloader is unlocked ..

For stock based rom, edit build.prop and change ro.build.type=user to =userdebug, and reboot.
Then, in developer options /HDCP checking, set it to "never check"
It's not working still on my Bravia it says registration failed... And i have bootloader unlocked and i did what u said
Try relocking bootloader by restoring Ta partition if possible (make sure to be on pure stock kernel). You will then get an NFC update. That's what I did, and it started working
@shoey63 Bro tell me which kernel and rom are u using because i am on rajeev ultra rom 4.4
Shoey do u have drm keys backup cuz i lost way back when i was rooting first time.... But what i can do is relock bootloader and install stock kernel and then try... Just tell me on which rom u are and kernel..
Ps links would be appreciated..
I'm just on pure stock. 283. Any ftf in the general section should do.
Note: I have LG smart TV - not Bravia.
@shoey63 bro tell me is your drm keys lost or not and which rom do u have and kernel. Plzz bro i need your help
DRM keys may not be required. Try relocking bootloader on your current stock based rom and stock kernel , and reboot. Make sure 'never check' hdcp is selected as I explained before.
Flash the stock. 283 kernel only ftf from here if required http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55357181
Edit: another approach would be to flash a custom rom for UB - I'll see if I can one that definitely works with screen mirroring
Edit 2: Screen mirroring on latest Cm11 nightly definitely works with 'never check' hdcp - try that if you can't get stock to work. I can't provide a link to my stock. 283 ftf because I created it myself, and won't upload it. (so many already available)
Good luck:thumbup:
@shoey63 bro i flashed cm11 but in that it only cast screen and not the audio. And moreover i don't like custom roms... And i tried relocking my rom and did but i need the pure kernel i am on advanced stock kernel by you that phillz touch one help bro
Bootloader relocked? Good, now flash stock kernel with flashtool
(for kk 4.4.4) Your phone won't boot until you do so.
http://d-h.st/uM8
Bro @shoey63 i am away from home for some reasons for 1 week and so i can't test it but thanks for the link and can u tell me one simple things that is rajeev ultra rom a pure stock or which rom are u using.. Thnxx for all help you are really a kind human being ??
I'm on stock. 283 (Vodafone Australia)
But any should do - even @Rajeev, @Pandemic or whatever.
Just make sure to
* be on pure stock kernel
* be on locked bootloader
* Edit build.prop to =userdebug
* Set HDCP checking in developer options to 'never check'
That's about all I can suggest, hope you get it working
