[Q] 3.5mm Jack broken, how to disable headphone detection? - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA Community,
My yuga's 3,5mm Jack is broken and the phone permanently detects a headphone. I cannot play any media sounds like whatsapp sound messages, ringer prewievs, music and so on over speaker.
First I thought this problem is related to my CM ROM but I figured out that my phone thinks that headphones are plugged in.
Has anyone an idea to disable the jack completely?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english [emoji16]
Best regards from Germany[emoji481]

TapaTalked from my MultiROM Xperia™ Z (C660²) running Dirty Unicorns OR PAC MAN ROM!

#atownrisk# get a nail (the one you hit with a hamer in to the wood) and put some super glue on the flat head where you suposed to bash it and glue it to the broken part then pull,
Use common sence and dont over glue it or you have a nail stuck to you Z whahaha

The Problem is, the Jack itself is okay, i think the chip on the SOC loose connection.

are u rooted? then you can delete the managing app i think its called smart connect, maybe that will help and turn it off

Nope. Smart Connect app is not related about anything like that.
I'm on AOSP ROM and I don't have Smart Connect app so I can see everything is normal. I even deleted it when I was ruining a stock ROM and nothing changed.

then send it in for repair

Hmm i hoped for a software-based solution. I just want to force media routing always to speaker/earpiece

then you must manually find the drivers that control that and delete them and hope that the build will compile

Sounds good

[Q] No Sound from loudspeaker on Stock Rom

Hello fellow XDA members
Normally I wouldn't post anything as I would have solved my problem via searching, but I could not find anything relating to my problem. Anyway here goes.
My Xperia Z does not produce sound from the loudspeaker on STOCK based roms, other roms such as CM11 and MIUI work perfectly fine. which rules out a hardware fault. The problem is rather weird. Specifically, it is like the phone thinks the earphone is plugged in, therefore all the sounds are being routed to the earphone port and not the speaker. Notification tones sometime work but it its very soft or have like a crackling sound. (Note sound works fine through the earphones). This obviously has an impact on voice calls, the only way I can talk without a headset is via bluetooth headset or to put the loudspeaker on, which then the person comes through the loudspeaker.
This lead me to believe it has something to do with Smart Connect(Liveware), where once the earphone is plugged in the music automatically starts playing, so therefore the app may think the earphone is plugged in 24/7. I deleted the app but still the problem was there.
As I said this is only apparent on stock roms. I flashed unmodded stock via flashtool(4.3) and still same problem, other stock based roms I have tried include Existenz v1.5.5(4.4.2) and BlackZ(4.4.2). However on CM11 roms(4.4.4), MIUI(4.2.2 - 4.4) and ColorOS(4.2.2) the sound works completely fine, except on CM11 the mic randomly stops working but that may be another bug entirely.
I am completely stumped on this and any help would be appreciated. Thank you

1- don't post your problems here
2- use a sound mod from themes and apps section. Try PureXaudio
3- search for it

1- Sorry if I posted in the wrong thread.
2- I have PureXaudio installed, but it does not help, I have also tried every other sound mod but since it does not change where the sound is outputted through it doesn't help(except my music sounds cooler )
3- As I said in the original post I have searched for it and no-one has this particular problem, there are similar ones though but those have been resolved with flashing stock. But with the stock rom the problem still persists.

[Q] Headset jack permanently damaged?

I was using my skullcandy headset on my phone and everything was working fine, until I (like an idiot) tried to adjust the headset gain value while the headset was plugged in. Then, I could hear buzzing in my earphones and when I plug it in, it says headset not supported. I tried a clean flash of the ROM to no avail. Then I flashed the Z3 sound files and tried, and it worked for a bit, but the sound was coming from both the headset and the speaker. So assuming it was an issue with the Z3 sound files, I flashed back the Stock sound files for mono. Now, it's not recognizing and headset or headphones(which was previously working when the headset wasn't being recognized) and when I pull it out of the jack, it says headset not recognized. Have I broken my headset jack? I use my phone for music, and this is really important. I'm praying I haven't and that there's a fix. Please help..

I do have an unlocked bootloader. I flashed v15 and it seems to be working with headphones (which don't have an inline mic) haven't tested the headset for fear of losing even headphones functionality. I'll test headset in the evening and if it doesn't work, I'll try a reflash of the kernel.
Is headset functionality also tied to kernel? I thought it was a ROM function. Really appreciate the help

If u are saying the the stereo mod v15, it is a bit buggy
i got left side and right side volume different = =""
this version may messed up with kernel volume control a bit
yeah everything is finally controlled by the kernel actually
Try using pimp my z1 and set value in Headphone analog gain, it fixed the s**t up (for me)
or if u want good and stable music quality, use dreamingonmusic v11z

I'll try the headset, see if it works, if not, reflash stock sound files, see if it works, if not reflash kernel. Thanks for all the help man, really appreciate it, you're awesome!
The problem arose when I tried changing the value on pimp my Z1 while the headset was connected. So I'm not playing with the pimp my Z1 settings anymore. Uninstalled it.

Maybe u should refresh the rom without any mod to test it instead, becoz the "stock mod" may not be able to completely clean off the s**ts

I reflashed the ROM. I'm hoping flashing the kernel fixes it.
Thanks man, narrowed down the issue. My headset is ****ed. The second I connect it, it's ****ing everything up. So that's the culprit. Simple reboot fixes it and I can use headphones.
Thanks so much for your help, unfortunately even a kernel reflash didn't help. I botched something with the headset when I adjusted the output while connected. Thanks a ton for your help and support. This is why I love xda. The power of the community.
Thanks a bunch.

Earspeaker is too loud!

Hello!
Is there any app or something similar that would help lowering the earpiece volume?
First of all, it really hurts my ears and second, I feel like im using the loud speaker all the time! Everybody can hear my conversation which is effing annoying!
I've disabled Clear Phase™ and xLOUD™, but it seems that after every reboot, they still appear checked.. wtf?
I'm not rooted & i dont wanna root.. (already bricked one Z with the "help" of xposed)

Simple just lower the sound using the volume buttons while you call.
TapaTalked from my Xperia™ Z (C660²) running Ultimate PureXZ Ultra!
So it seems that activating the ClearAudio+ in Walkman will automatically activate Clear Phase™ and xLOUD™ in Settings - Sound..
Also, when having a phone call, if i press vol down it will not go all the way down, needing manual setting.

I think you have a problem because if you press the volume down button so the sound MUST changed to a lower level...

Microphone and speaker

I installed the official Cyanogen 12.1-20151212-NIGHTLY-yuga on my wifes Xperia Z, when she use the phone and I speak to her the sound from her microphone is a bit crakcing. Not as clean as it was with the original Xperia android version. Also if she use the the big speaker when we talk it is very hard to hear what she is saying.
Also in the big speaker it crackles.
Is there any way to fix this?
