I have an xperia L, which is working perfectly, I wanted to swap it with an xperia Z that is faulty, the xperia Z powers ON, loads to the lockscreen, after inputting the lock code it goes OFF and goes back to the sony logo and gets to the lock screen and goes off agn continously. But i can quickly hold the power botton to power it off in the process. It charges very well when plugged. Please I want to know if the problem can be solved? Can I bring it back to life? And how can I do it. Please I need to know before I swap it. Please reply me, am new here. U can give me details on how to do it. Thanks.

Hi 1st try to fix him in PCcompanion, make a repair of the device and see if it works!
ok, @boanoite, thanks for your reply
But I need to be sure it has nothing to do with the hardware.
Is it possible it could be the hardwares fault? After swapping my working xperia L for the Z I can't collect my XL back if the XZ doesn't work.

I've had my Xperia Z for 2 weeks and have been happy with it so far. However, I has cause for concern last night when I found it "dead". About an hour prior, I checked to see how much power it still had in order to decide whether to connect it to the charger. I found it still had 76% so decided that I didn't need to. Then an hour later I picked up my phone and found pressing the Power button had no response. It just had a black screen and no lights. I held down the Power button thinking it might have just powered off but also no response. I then connected the charger and waited and holding down the Power button also nothing happened. It just was dead. On previous Android phones I would try taking the battery out but of course couldn't do that with the Xperia Z. It has not been dropped at all and not been rooted so I got worried that it had died within 2 weeks of very little use. I looked online and found someone had a similar problem with an older Xperia (T or maybe U) and they managed to switch their phone back on by holding down the Power and Volume buttons. I tried this and lucky my Xperia Z came back on.
My question is, has anyone here had a similar experience? Or know what could possible have caused it. So far it's been fine today but I am somewhat concerned that it has happened and that it could well happen again. I bought it online from the Three UK website as a PAYG phone. Do you think I should contact them for a replacement or do you think this is a problem with all Xperia Z's or it's firmware.
Thank you.
Hope it's a one-off issue.. Get a replacement it were to happen a few more times again, especially since you're running unrooted on stock! You could try re flashing your firmware using seus to see if that solves your problem, if it's corruption on the firmware/nand side, especially since such sleep of death cases on the xperia z isn't common on the xperia z as of now.
it happens for android phones often
but thr s no absolute dead for xperia phones like wht happen for galaxies.
anyway if u have warranty as u know don worry and change it

Volume up+power for 10 seconds.
Sent from my C6602 using xda premium
Yes held down Power button and Volume up until the phone responded with a vibration and then it proceeded to boot up. Yes i am on stock. Nothing modified at all. I don't know whether to be relieved it is a known issue albeit on an older model Xperia or concerned that despite this is Sony's latest flagship device they didn't fix it before release!

Firstly sorry for my English too.I'm Chinese~
Well, have you rooted your Z1?If so,you should clean your phone process more or less.If NOT,here are the TOOLs you may use:
Easy Root Tool——Root
XZDualRecovery——Recovery
Xposed for Lollipop——Xposed
You can search them in the Forums.
By the way, there truly is the touching problem because of the heating. Now that we are still using it,we can only try to manage that, right?
I had a problem with the phone, it reboots every time itself, so i decided to buy a new battery from internet.
Then i replaced the original inside the xperia t and placed the new one.
When i turn on the phone, it vibrates and nothing on the screen, it seems to boot normally but without anything on screen, infact when i press the camera button the flash turns on and it seems to take a picture.
What can i do? Please heeelp
Anyone help please
