Hello..
I bought the moto g 2014 about 2 weeks back.. Great value for money..!
After about 3 days an ota update arrived which I installed.. Post update everything seems great except for the fact.. That the loudspeaker volume seems much reduced when compared to before update.
I seem to remember hearing excellent audio output from the stereo speakers before the update.. With similar testing conditions..
Not much difference on headphones though.
Anybody else have similar issues??
Any insight would really help.. Thanks in advance..
PS : searched the forum but couldn't find similar topics.
I also experienced same. Not sure though. May be they done it cause sometimes due to very loud songs speakers buzz.

Since I can't experience an SGNote in a store yet, curious how its speaker compares? (heard it mentioned that it could be better considering its size)
P.S. - I choose the EVO over Nexus S because of it's louder-better speaker & its larger screen..better for nav etc

The speaker is louder than my GSI and GSII however it is more tinnyer sounding than both.

Thanks, do any apps really help improve its speaker performance significantly?

Volume+
The speaker isn't that weak, but it's crystal clear. It matches the sound of my Klipsch Image S4's.

I'd try it on my EVO's solid speaker now if I wasn't still getting "Insufficient storage available" errors despite its 1GB internal & 32GB card (rather not delete my apps).. another reason I want a new handheld, hopefully AT&T will announce availability at CES in a few weeks or I can see it in person & order it unlocked sooner. Glad to hear the SGNote speaker is clear & not that weak.
-Thanks
Forget volume+ as it's not very effective plus gives you errors/crashes...
Look for ''equalizer'' in the market place. It's a free app which works perfect and boosts audio by at least 80% or more...
Hey People,
I am new to this thread and this is my first post!
I am a music freak so thought the zune player in HTC windows phones would provide me with good music quality! and it did! but the Volume was crap..very low! So I searched up in the net for good head phones! Heres what I found!
I have been using a sennheiser CX300 II on my HD7 it provided me with decent quality musice but the volume was lower than i expected.
I found this JVC HA-FX1X in-ear head phones for very a cheap price on play.com & amazon, read some reviews and went for it..And I cant believe it now because it delivers superb quality music with 30-40% volume increase!
I would recommend this pair for everyone who are dissapointed with the low volume in the HD7
I tried this on an iphone 4s...man it was very very loud ..Thus perfect for HD7
BTW People who find this helpful, could you please help me how to hack my phone..Im really confused with the threads in this sites
Thanx! have fun!
Heyy.. thanks for the post.. was looking forward to something like that.. but could u suggest headphones, with a mic for the HD7, coz even the mic quality of the HD7 headphones sucks... no1 is ever able to hear me!!! .. would appreciate ur feedback..
Im really sorry fiery. I havent tested any headset with an integrated mic. I have been receiving comments that my callers cant here me too ..Hopefully some1 would be able to help us with that.
Hope you found my post really helpful! Enjoy the increased music quality and volume increase
tc!
Hey everyone, I've been pretty happy with my Xperia Z until yesterday when I was out and people called me and I couldn't really hear anything they said as the volume was too low in the earphone.
The earphone was / is clean and dry and I have tried different settings and of course max volume etc but it just seems to be too low?
Anyone had any better success with talking or rather listening to people trying to talk to you in traffic or noisy environments?
Surely Sony's flagship phone must let you actually hear what people say when they are calling you?
EDIT: I actually tried the service menu and the tests are pretty loud and very clear compared to calls... so at least the hardware seems to be ABLE to do it's job...

I find the sound quality from the earpiece terrible. It's not only quiet but very muffled and I can't really hear people on the phone even in quiet environments. I'm going to take the phone back because of this!

If you haven't yet, try turning off the Speaker voice enhancement under Call settings. That actually improved the in-call sound quality quite a bit for me.

Hm mine was off but turned it on now to see differences, will have a go tomorrow. Also there is a EQ for calls there as well that I haven't tried yet. I'm hoping that it's just the firmware that needs some extra push as the service menu proves Z can provide some serious quality in the hardware...
please confirm your problem here , so sony support can see this

Yes the problem still remains no matter what settings you do... I wonder if a rooted phone with a sound mod might increase the volume on the call side...?

Well I recorded a video with my mobile on the concert, yep it was loud there but at least it should have taken with better quality. When you listen to it, it sounds like wind nothing else, only chaotic noise. My friend's Galaxy took better video with great sound and mine just sucks :/
anyone has this problem?
I will upload soon to show you guys
P.S sorry wrong section should be moved to Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Could you provide video sample pf your friends SGS for comparison too?
Yeah got exactly the same problem recording video at a couple of concerts think the microphone just can't handle the loudness....
hey
Is your video sound quality is any similar to this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsl2bGhweYY
youtube script doesnt seem working...
i've seen this reported but on 4.1 not 4.3, what rom u use?
it happened in same sound conditions like stadium or concert, some guys handled it in funny way by putting a sticker or anything that cover 2nd mic. maybe u can do so till proper solution came out or (it can be hardware related, i don't know) i never faced this prob
That sample is exactly the issue. I'll experiment with the sticker idea for the next concert.
Thanks
yeah I got same problem shown in the video. So where should I put a sticker?
Me too
Im having the same problem, is there any solution? Script?
They're many reviews out there complaining about the G5 Plus's horrible loud speaker and a really low max volume.
Have these problems been fixed with the G5S Plus?
personally, it sounds amazing and loud to me. the headphone jack could be a bit louder but i fix that with mods

You need to root the phone for most, if not all mods, ya? You aren't referring to viper4android? I've heard it works great.
I had one of those big clunky early smart phones, I think it was called the MDA, and I remember that you needed a PC to root the phone. Is that still the case, or can you root with Mac?

External speaker is loud, just not very good. Earpiece is a tad low about same as my 6p. Root - try reading 1 of the posts already available for more info.
