It would seem something happened to your bootloader. Do you have a camera and HDMI output or not?
I have both

Hello!
I'm a 50% Happy user with the HD7, i've been following and reading all the issues with the phone (don't get me started on the mms config!...), but anyway, just a simple question.
I'm trying to fully charge the HD7, but i don't want it to be powered on while charging, it just keeps awaking from the dead!
How can i circumvent this ?

Far as I know the HD& can only be charged while turned on. At first I thought I had a defect unit, but as I read on the net and in reviews that it only charges while being on.
Hope this helps
Eric

i turn off the phone and i put the phone to the charger. That's it.
I think is it important, i charge it via charger, NOT via laptop.

I have to call BS on this one, at least if you're using an HD7... Unless you mean when you let it die til it's very end, and then when you plug it in it DOES show that, but temporarily until the phone has enough juice to turn on... then it does.

Maybe your charger and usb cable doesn't work...
So your battery is completely dead that's why pc can't see that and you're unable to boot...
Make sure that your charger is ok first

Hey there. New around the Kindle Fire HD parts as I haven't actually received mine yet..
But, I was curious as to whether you guys could answer a question for me!
If you have your Kindle Fire HD turned off and then apply power to it through the USB, does it turn on? I mean on as boots into Android, not simply displays a charging screen of some sort.
Are you on Stock or the unlocked bootloader?
And lastly, I doubt anyone has tried this.. but I might as well ask! Has anyone tried to remove the battery from the Fire HD and turn it on using only power from USB?
Appreciate the answers.

Hey there as well. In answer to your questions...
1.) Yep. It does power on when you plug in USB. No charging screen, just the whole OS (unless there's not enough power to boot Android, in which case yes, there is a charging screen).
2.) I have the second bootloader installed, with Chameleon OS installed.
3.) As for opening up the Kindle.. that's a gray area for me. If I knew what I was doing, I'd open her up, but I don't know if I'd be able to get her back together. Lol
Hope this helped

When you say "unless there's not enough power to boot Android.." do you mean the battery needs some level of charge before the tablet turns on?
For instance, if I left the tablet on and drained it down to 1%, then plugged it in, would the tablet boot straight into Android or would I get a charge screen?

If you drained the battery (and some ROMs do that in a bad way), the Kindle will only show a charging screen (at least mine does). However, I can't remember if this was when I was on Stock OS or on a different ROM.
So yeah, it does seem to need some level of charge before Android will boot.

Awesome. Appreciate all of the info. I'll see if I can't set Tasker up to turn off the device when the power is removed. If that doesn't work, I'll go build my own version of Android that changes the battery shut off percentage to something high enough to make sure it will turn on as soon as power is applied.
Thanks again for all of the info!
I've had it for a while now. I left it at home while I was on holiday and when I get back it is out of battery so I plug it in and the charging screen when it is turned off comes on aswell as the led. But after about a second it just cuts out and loops. I've tried to boot it up but no luck there. I think that the battery has died. So I opened it up (without really thinking) and had a look around it all looks ok but I don't want to buy a new battery at £25 for nothing.
What do you guys think?
Any help is appreciated!

Find a bright light source, night lamp should be bright enough. Press power+vol down while shining the light to proximity sensor. That helped lot of people

Try connecting your charger and let it charge for about an hour, you should see a red led near the top of the phone. Then try clsA's method with the light. It that still fails you probably have a dead battery and will need to replace it.

Looks like your phone just won a trip to the repair shop. Either a bad battery or a failed motherboard. It happens, my HTC One x failed like that 3 weeks past the warranty. Was just sitting on my desk then turned off and never came back to life. At least, yours is still under warranty.
