[Q] Flashing stock firmware on Samsung GT-i8200N - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I tried to downgrade firmware on Samsung GT-i8200N from android 4.2.2 to 4.1. according to this turorial: Tutorial como downgradear samsung galaxy S3 Mini a android 4.1.1 S3 Mini GT-I8190/L/N on Youtube. I know now, that i flashed a wrong I8190/N ROM. My GT-I8200N now shows me just a window with the words "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again".
Every time I try to power on the phone or go to download mode by pressing Vol down + Home + Power The phone will freeze and keep showing "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again".
I would like to flash stock firmware (with Odin) on this website samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I8200N . Could you tell me please which firmware I should choose? I am from Czech Republic and there are not any versions for my country on that website only for Germany and etc.
Is that OK to flash stock firmware designated for another country? After flashing stock firmware are there any actions required? My mobile phone will be OK after that? Please help
Thank you
I am sorry for my bad english

Register first and download your country's (Czech Republic) firmware from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/. Insert your phone model (GT-i8200N) into the "Search device here..." box and hit enter.
Instructions:
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S stuck in continues reboot loop

Phone: Galaxy S I9000 SGH-959V
Carrier: T-Mobil
Original firmware: Froyo (rooted)
Upgraded firmware: Gingerbread 2.3.6
Issue:
during attempted rooting of 2.3.6 using Odin 1.82 and sImage file under PDA, incurred failure during install.
phone was stuck with image of a phone and PC with ! in between.
got it out of that and now the phone is stuck in continous reboot loop.
I took the battery out and went into hard reboot mode. However, I CAN NOT restore factory settings because it will not acknowledge when I press home key and/or power key.
Please help!!!
You must have used odin to upgrade to 2.3.6 so go back into download mode and reflash that. Then flash something like semaphore to root. Maybe a good idea to post what files you are flashing first.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
You must press Vol up+Home+Power for recovery or Vol Down+Home+Power for download
Can you enter to the download mode?
It happened to me one time, but not exactly how you tell it. While flashing with Odin, it stuck on the first step (something like factory, I don't remember), and I unplugged the phone and it was in a continuous loop with the first logo (Samsung Galaxy S I 9000 etc...). Then I entered to the download mode and reflashed again with Odin, then now was fine.
Sorry for my bad English.
try reflashing it again in odin with stock 2.3.6 firmware. reboot.
flash a kernel (semaphore) in odin.

Tried it with pluged in to PC as well.
Any help will be appreciated

Hello abdurm, could you tell us your current firmware? You would require to give us details from Settings > About phone.
Also, did you try flashing anything? If so, what was it?
By pressing the Volume Down button + Home button + Power button simultaneously, does your device enter Download mode?

It dosen give me enough time to check firmware version, it reboots. It is on ICS. It is stock and I have not tried fashing or anything.
Yes it goes in download mode by pressing Volume Down button + Home button + Power button simultaneously.
Flash gingerbread rom in PC ODIN only and it will automatically reboot by itself but if still stuck in samsung logo go to recovery mode and wipe data and cache.

Thank you very much. Just one last thing I dont have to be rooted to instal this ROM and it is ok to flash directly from ICS . Just downloadFilename: SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS.zip and flash it. And it will leave me with GB?

Apologies abdurm, I foolishly presumed you would have made a note of your device's firmware details at some point in the past. It was stupid of me to ask you for the said information.

1] Download the pre-rooted stock Gingerbread firmware, SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS.zip and extract it to get the SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS.tar file.
2] After doing so, run PC ODIN, select the PDA tab in it and point to the extracted file (SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS.tar). Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time will be selected by default. Do not select anything else.
3] Put your device in Download Mode and then connect it to your PC via the USB cable. The ID:COM label in PC ODIN will turn yellow indicating your device is connected and recognised.
4] Click on the Start button in PC ODIN and wait for the label above ID:COM to say Pass. After it does so, disconnect your device from your PC.
Your device will reboot and you will be on a stock Gingerbread firmware with root privilege.

Hello again abdurm, I am glad to learn your device is up and running again. :highfive:
Now that you are on a rooted firmware, I would advice you not to avail an OTA update as there is a very high likelihood of it breaking/undoing the root privilege.
Personally, I have not ventured into Ice Cream Sandwich yet and thus I have no right to guide you with the process of acquiring it. But, based on your quoted post may I ask you if you desire to have stock Ice Cream Sandwich with or without root privilege?
I recommend you thoroughly read dr.ketan's threads which explain the subject at hand.

You can go into download mode.
So: Download a stock Rom (the JB release for Hongkong) and install it with PC Odin.
If you have errors in Odin tell us.
Or maybe everything is ok and after that your mum has a working device and a lovely sun again.

Hello FixMyProblems, thank you for the guide.
I have a problem, when i press Volume Down + Home + Power, nothing happens, than i pressed Volume Up + Home + Power, and the Odin recognized my phone, and i do everything as you say in the first post, but Odin stuks on: "<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..".
I have the same problem. as @kenshiro1.
No matter what I try, my device is always being recognised but downloading stuff to it always fails. It just hangs everytime. I also tried with Kies but there I'm always stuck at the "connecting" screen. I really don't know what to try anymore...

[Q] Failed OTA update, where do I go from here

Please forgive the baby questions from an Android Newbie.
I used the phone to check for software updates, one was available - I believe from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2, I selected install the update, and now I just get a flashing android symbol.
I have tried to connect to Kies to do a recovery, but I cannot connect, afater a long "trying to connect" I am getting the message "device unresponsive please reboot", I have updated to the latest version of Kies, tried different cables and different ports.
I can reboot the phone into download mode but do not see any of the other options that are supposed to be available. Kies does not connect in either download or flashing Android symbol mode
Suggestions as to where I go from here are welcome.

Do a factory reset from recovery. Press vol up+home+power button
You're still safe if you still can see download mode.
If resetting doesn't help then download firmware from sammobile or from here http://www.officialrom.com/samsung/GT-N7000/ and flash through odin
