My xperia zr is taking much time to charge 2hr.45min (approx 3hr) to charge from 0%-90% . and does not go above 90% i connected my phone for 30min above 90% it was 91% only i switch of my phone and again i tried to charge bt it dont worked. i searched on google gone through many threads none of them helped me. many threads says go for stock charger im already on stock charger . earlier it was taking 2 hr to charge from 0-100% nw it doesnt. i checked every setting switched my phone to airplane mode it also dont worked for me and my battery is draining much faster than it was at earlier.
any body can tell me how to use android phone so that i can higher my battery life ??
or is there any harm with my battery?
Mine 3 hrs to get fully charged.. Can last 17 hrs with total 3.5 hrs on screen. Auto sync is off and location access is off. You can see on battery state which one use high battery usage.

Hi Guys!!
i've done what this link told
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10092321&postcount=11053
but everytime i reach 100% and unplug the charger, my battery percentage immediately shows 97%, be it charging with the phone off or on....
i already did wipe my battery stats in recovery a few times, the first time only it showed that the stats were wiped, after that every time i wipe the stats, it immediately goes back to the previous menu, without stating whether the wipe was carried out or not....
can someone help this noob out here.... thnx
FYI, i just installed darky's rom v8.0 with Voodoo's kernel 5.2(lagfix disabled)
when i was on stock, my 100% could last me about nearly half an hour
I have this problem too. (I am on Darky 9.02 and have seen it in Darky 8.0 too). BUT if your battery life is satisfactory then don't worry about it.
hows the performance on v9.02 bro?

9.02 is good but then so was 8.00. I personally think 8.00 was faster but its only been a few days and am still experimenting. I may remove the lag fix and still need to see if my battery is draining faster.
Also look at this post: Has some interesting but unverified info about the drop from 100% to 97/98% after unplugging

Do you really want it on 100%? Easy, once it says charged, leave it on the charger for another hour and when you unplugged it should stay 100 for a while

Simple solution save time and effort is to ignore it .

thanx all for the advices.... tried the QueenAmy method, result is:
heavily used phone: battery 'died' at 2%(???)
charged phone until 100%(phone off)
switched phone on while still charging: 97% (didnt have to unplug charger)
waited...then it went from 97% straight to 100%.(funny)
then went into recovery to wipe bat stats.
rebooted and unplugged charger, battery still at 97%....
now trying to charge a bit more longer to see if can change anything... (fingers crossed)

left it on for about an hour, unplugged, straightaway the percentage drops to 98...
It's just a change in 2.2.1.
In 2.1/2.2, they 'stretched' out the battery life a bit to mark it up to 100%, in 2.2.1 they decided to just show it at the actual value. The reason your battery won't charge to 100% is to prolong the battery life, because if the charger always charged to 100% it would have a high chance of overcharging and damaging your battery over time.
There's no real change in battery life.
I reverted back to 2.2 and still have the problem. Maybe i shouldve flashed on 100% battery... Is it possible to solve if i do another fresh flash with 100% battery?

Just to clarify this, you actually cant over charge the battery on the SGS nor Li-Ion for that matter, what happens here is that the battery goes on trickle charge pre 2.2.1 and battery degrades faster if its kept at 100%, 40% is optimal for storage now with the recent changes the phone will pretend it has charged upto 100% but will stop anywhere from 99~97% yes there is no loss in battery life but dont consider 97% as the new 100%, theres already a 3% loss in this to begin with.

Is it true that the porcentage of battery u have when u flash ur phone is the one that will be used as the new 100% ? also whats the procedure i should use to erase the battery stats? my phone dies in like 4 hours , let it discharge, charge completely and then?
I don't think so, cause i always flash my MS anytime i wish even when the indicator show <20%, or when charging on UBS
I also never bothered to charge fully before flashing. Though I think resetting battery stats does help indeed.
i also read something similar to this, someone told me to charge to full, then let the phone discharge UNTIL IT TURNS OFF BY ITSELF (=battery completely dead), then charge to full again and then delete the file batterystats.bin in /data/system folder (root required).
i suppose this is what you are talking about?
i will try this in a few hours (currently discharging the last % of my battery).

What's your ROM?
On froyomod do you have option to calibrate battery and wipe battery status
Well, I've flashed it to FroyoRom with approx. 40% charge, played around a little, the next day when I was normally using it and my battery went down to 30% I deleted the battery stats, the system rebooted and voilla, I was at 50%
I don't know about this full charge - discharge - full charge - delete stats version. I guess I'll try it on an occasion and see what happens. At this moment I'm at 90% after being disconnected from charger for 5 hrs, though I wasn't using the phone much during this time.
...and currently finishing the same charge - after 1 day and 17 hrs currently at 20%. My Milestone never made it through the day without having to charge it through the night. Love it
The FroyoMod is really the best at the moment...
The last couple of days I've got a weird problem. When my battery is fully charged everything seems okay and it drains in normal speed (compared to stock).
But when my phone runs out off battery and i start to charge in the beginning everything seems fine.
But suddenly it can go from 75 to 100% in 1 minute. When i look at the stats in MIUI ROM it seems like it's not at same height as it was the last day of 100%. Maybe only 80%.
Sorry for my bad English, but i hope it makes sense.
I've wiped battery stats in CWM. But is it possible that the phone actually is only 80% charged, even though the indicator shows 100% after wipe?
Because if the ROM think the battery is charged and wipe stats it will afterwards only charge to that point and the battery maximum will decrease over days?
If that's possible, how do i full charge the battery? Just leave it in the charger or?
I hope you can understand what I mean.
Thanks in advance

Got the same problem?

have you try calibrate your batt again
yes my friend have this problem too, maybe there is software bug
After flashing Celebration HD 2.0.1b I first used Battery Calibration from market to wipe battery stats. Afterwards the battery indicator problems started.
Yesterday i decided to wipe battery stats manually in CWM and drain to phone to 2% before charging, and afterwards I was able to fully charge the phone.
So maybe the bug in is Battery Calibration app?
I decided to install Juice Plotter to monitor the battery and compare it to one build in in MIUI. Just to get some more data.
Hello again
Yes i had the same problem as you, with my previosly 2 lg optimus 2x, and returned them because of the problem you mentioned. I am on the third op2x and luckily this work good
So if i were in your position i would try to go to the dealer and shift the phone with another lg optimus 2x.
Best regards

The user said that he started to have problem after a new rom and wiping battery stats, changing phone for that is not the smartest move at all. Is like changing phone because your rom doesn't work.
I have a similar problem, after you wipe battery stats you don't have a reliable indicator, for me the phone took 3 hours to get from 99 to 100%.
I also noticed that my miui ( 1.8.5 same for 1.7.29) doesn't update battery stats when the screen is off so all those plotter don't work, and i think this messes up with the battery indicator (I guess the phone doesn't have enough data to make a decent estimate)
I think is miui + wipe battery stats that can be problematic
I know that but i am just saying that i also had the same problem with the stock rom.
Best regards

How old is the battery? How many cycles does it have?
I know from laptop Li-Ion batteries that the voltage vs. capacity is not linear.
When discharging, the voltage will steadily drop to a "wear-level" where it will jump to an almost depleted level. When charging, this "wear-level" will be at the top.
Why I am telling this? Because if this mapping is kept in SW and you wiped it, Android needs to relearn it again. So at 1st complete charging/discharging you would see a % sudden drop/raise, but at the next cycles it would be linear with time (although the total time will be smaller than a new battery).
When laptop/phone battery tips talk about calibration, it is so whoever monitors the voltage (circuit in battery or SW) to know were the wear drop will be, so your estimates to be better.
As an example, I had a very old Thinkpad that did not have any calibration, and it would discharge to about 40% and drop to 5% within seconds. But when charging, it would raise steadily to 70% (from that 5%) but 70% to 95% in seconds. After years of use, that percentage gap would just increase (40-5 got 60-5, 70-5 on discharging).
PS: my current Thinkpad has 4 years and the battery capacity is 49% with 150 cycles. But this one has a nice feature where if the battery was above a certain percentage, plugging AC would not charge it (and thus save a few cycles). I used it set at 70%.
PS: LiIon batteries have cycle count, heat and time as main enemies. Also don't like prolonged (think storage) low charge.

hello
i just wanna ask something about my battery life on my x8...here's how it goes first i fully charge my battery up to 100% until it says on status battery full...then i unplugged it..after it i texted for a few minutes...and i check the status of my battery and it says: 28 mins 23s on battery..my battery is on 96%..is this normal.? or somethings draining my battery,?
i use minicm7 2.2
this is normal since battery is heating itself while charging, and when it cools down it shows less percentage of itself... to maximaze your current battery life, calibrate the battery:
1. charge it to 100% no more no less
2. leave the charger PLUGGED IN, and reboot to CWM
3. there you should find somewhere under options or advanced "wipe battery stats", and you press that
4. reboot your device and when it starts up it will show about 91%, charge it to 100% and you have your battery calibrated
NOTE: the charger is always plugged in
ok thanks i'll try it... one question should i drain the battery before calibrating it.?..as in zero percent??

Yes , that is recommended.
Also , one advice from me.
Even after calibration , whenever your phone says 100% charged , reboot it while the charger is plugged. You will get the exact battery charge after reboot.
Do it every time your recharge your phone.
Then stop rebooting when you get a 99% or 100% after a fresh reboot. Trust me , it helps.
ok thanks for the advice i'll try that too...
it is normal dude ....mine is giving 1day on heavy use
use zepplinrox's supercharge script...it really made a CONSIDERABLE change to m battery usage time
I have one question: "Why my battery is giving 6-8h. My battery 2 days ago giving 24 and more hour." Sorry for my English, but i am from Poland
what happened 2 days ago? did you install new ROM?
The OP might not have needed to install a new ROM, just an APP or maybe just a combination of APPs running. My phone sometimes canes the battery in a couple of hours from 50% to nothing for no apparent reason. On both stock and custom (actually better battery life on custom) it lasts about a day but sometimes about 6 hours! Not sure what is going on as this happened on both the stock 1.6, 2.1 and the custom 2.3.4!
Hello!
Been using my i9000 for about 2 years and 3 days ago i came around a problem that I can't solve. Let me try to explain as good as my english skills will let me.
I`m charging the battery to 100%. I`m unplugging then plugging back my charger a few times to make sure it's charged 100%. Then I`m using my phone as usual for about 2-3 hours (less if I`m playing a movie or listen to music) and my phone automatically shuts off. When I turn it back on, it shows 1-2% battery.
Now, if I let it idle, it will slowly "charge" back up (without the charger plugged). It wont show the charging icon over battery, but it's level will rise to about 60-70%.
If, after I turn it back on I use it intensively, it will shut down in 1-2 minutes. I tried to charge it to full and then enter that root menu (volume up+menu key+power key) to delete the battery stats, but still can't solve the problem.
I can't believe my battery is dieing or having a hardware problem because it started acting like this out of the blue, so I think there's a software problem somewhere (maybe corrupted battery info stats or something). My bet is on the fact that the phone doesn't know the empty and full limits of the battery.
My phone is rooted and using android 2.3.6. Any advice would be highly appreciated, thanks!

Did you get to have yours fixed??
I had the same problem with my I9000, in the same period.. what are the odds?
I replaced the battery, and the battery level weirdness went away, but I'm still having problems charging it. Actually, the battery won't charge in the phone, tried several charges, with different amps. I have an external charger, which will take the battery at 100%, and it will last a few hours in the phone.
I also have another problem: if I have the phone on, with the charger connected, and shut it down, I can only get it back on if I disconnect the charger. I also don't get the battery indicator when the phone is off.
I was using CM10, but then I reverted to stock 2.3.6, tried a few kernels, modems, etc, but none solve my problems.
hi guys
quite basic problem u got there
if ur on 2.3.6, then its natural problem.its not like changing kernel can solved it as it is safety measure for battery in stock ROM.
to answer ur question;
when charging at deepsleep mode nothing will change=
as cpu at min stated, even wifi will be knocked off n sometimes network signal also.
battery suddenly goes up when rebooting or awake from deepsleep=
its ur battery stat+safety measure for battery (hav u heard BLX (Battery Life Xtender) in any cm10 features?) to maintain fone power state.
battery will never goes 100% n u need to plug n unplug again for it to full=
still count as BLX (above) as in this features battery will goes 90% - 95% as its max to make sure battery lasting longer (if not,why do u think u can still use ur battery in full state after 3 years (1000+ cycles) n it still not bubling like old nokia fone?)
fone will not awake when charging (if enter sleep mode) =
check ur kernel n make sure min cpu change to ~200mhz as its min n dont lock ur cpu to its min.if in stock, something wrong with ur home or power (da one trigger awake) button.
da conclusion is, sometimes (3 month calculated) reset ur battery stat (if ur on GB) with app (too many app on Gstore) but needed root n follow strictly step. DO NOT OVERCHARGE (charging n leaving ur fone till morning to discharge) n be thankful this features intact in updated GB so u can use ur battery much longer than nokia fone.
but u can change it by upgrading to cm9 to disable it. charge it with 'stay awake' enable on dev option n u ll get full 100% usage of ur battery
thats all for my morning essay
n thank you for reading (if u try to read)
Regards

Actually we have a thread with battery problem.
1 Turn off your phone.
2 Charging phone without turning on to full and switch on then continue charging to 100%
3 When getting 100% signal, unplug quickly.
4 Pull off the battery and put it anywhere.
5 Press power buton copule time
6 Wait for 20 min
7 Meanwhile, take this opportunity to dust off the internal compartment.
8 Put back the battery on the right side.
9 Turn on the phone.
10 Pray the Battery god
