Does anyone have any reason as to why this may be happening? I just recently rooted it to install greenify and the xposed modules. I have only installed greenify and listed a few apps but it seems battery consumption has gone up and I haven't installed any other apps. I am trying to narrow down what it can possibly be by using the wakelock detector but any input would be largely appreciated brothers.
i to used greenify, but since i stopped on the note 3 because i noticed it being a hit or miss.. you might be greenifying apps that need to be ran by the system hence it keep reloading up after being closed into a continuous loop
Thread moved to Q&A where it should have been posted originally - please post in the correct sections, thanks.

Is there a list of apps that use a wakelock on the android phones? I searched, but all I found was stuff for developers about using one. I was wondering which apps use it because I'm trying to save battery life and don't want anything running unnecessarily.
Hi
I am on stock rom now (XT1068 Dual sim). I noticed google alarms are eating battery a lot. Even i tried amplify but it made situation more worse. Before installing amplify battery drain at night is 1-2%. After using amplify, i got about 6-8% drain at night (checkinhandoff service is the culprit here).
Can any one explain what is powermanagerservice.wakelocks ?
See the attached pics
Thanks in advance.
I'm in the same boat.... Just can't get rid of play services wakelocks.... Tryed all, Greneefy pro, some "fixed play services", custom ROM, app ops, amplify free... Getting out of ideas

PowerManagerService is basically a catch-all for partial
wakelocks (wakelocks requested by non system apps).
A wake lock is a mechanism to indicate that your
application needs to have the device stay on.
Any application using a WakeLock must request the
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK permission in an
<uses-permission> element of the application's
manifest. Obtain a wake lock by calling newWakeLock
(int, String) .
Yeah too many wakelocks by non system apps(Amplify). Switched to titan prime rom. Wakeclock issue resolved.

Try disabling background data for google play services. It doesn't consume much battery after this step.
Even when there is no data connection google play services will run in the background.
Dont use amplify.. It will increase wakelocks. Dont use disable service app. After disabling all location services using that app, checkin service started eating battery.
Try Deep Hibernation option in Greenify. It should work.
If you really dont use them, just disable them with titatinum.
In the xTraSmooth thread the developer provides advice on how to maximize battery life and in it he alludes to how greenify and cleanmaster shouldnt be used as it mitigates what android does on its on in terms of task management.
This prompted me to read up on it extensively and there are equal arguments for and against using greenify for example.
I just wanted to open up this thread and see if other more experienced people on this forum use greenify and/or cleanmaster and can provide reasoning why or why not .
Thanks

I don't. I use SD maid pro on a schedule for cleaning of junk files and cache. I don't use greenify. I regularly see 5-6 hours of SOT. Most of battery life is depending on specific user apps and usage. I keep ambient display off, using native led control from custom ROM settings. I keep brightness at around 30-35%. Location is set to battery saving. I'm generally on WiFi or strong LTE signal, which also plays a huge role.
Screenshots from today:
Clean master is crap. Greenify is alright.
I have found better luck with kernel tweaks. And adjusting my settings. I also use SD Maid Pro.
Not sure about clean master. Anything that removes tasks from memory constantly can have a negative effect on battery if you use that a lot, so clearing recents regularly is not a good idea as apps use more could cycles to open fresh than from a cached process, which you're terminating by clearing recents. So apps you use regularly will use much more power if you're always starting them fresh. I see no harm in clearing individual tasks from recents if you're not going to use them for a long time.
Greenify I do use. There are many apps that just don't close properly or just keep wakelocks that you don't require so hibernation isn't a bad thing of you know what apps you're hibernating.. It's not the same as termination either.
Hi Guys & Gals,
I recently installed the stagefright fix to Build LMY48I (Android 5.1.1, Baseband MDM9625_104446.01.02.101R, Kernel 3.10.40-geec2459. I did it using Nexus root toolkit v2.0.5. Now when I use battery saving apps such as Battery Doctor / Advanced Task Killer Pro / Greenify they all seem to say Excellent / no apps running good memory (despite the memory getting fuller etc). It is definitely rooted and I have reinstalled apps etc and can see them accessing Super SU. It seems to be indicating all ok. When I use clean master it frees up a lot of RAM which Advanced Task killer pro reports has occurred. Basically, battery doctor seems to be having no effect even when using super optimize (it doesn't seem to be killing anything). Am I missing something?
Regards,
Mick

You are not missing something, you have to much memory management.
Lollipop has its own modern memory management and there is no need for optimizers/cleaners.
Just uninstall optimizers/cleaners.
For battery life you may use apps with a black background.
I've same probleme and i found this app.
Works with last ota update on nexus 5.

I'm looking for a way to skip the optimization of Apps after flashing Xposed (Sony Z5 Premium if you care).
Here's why:
I've flashed Stock, RomAur, and Cyanogen ROMs, all are able to open AirWatch. I install Xposed on all roms, it no longer works. It force closes/crashes every time you try and open it and periodically in the background.
I know it is something that Xposed is doing, and I'm betting that its the optimization of these apps that's causing it to fail. Yes, I've uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times, with both GP Services and with Root managers.
I feel if I can at least keep Airwatch from being effected, I feel like I could get around it and then work on getting Airwatch to not recognize I'm rooted as well.
"Optimization of apps" is not what you think it is, and is not causing your problem.
When it says it's optimizing apps, the OS is actually pre-building a portion of each app and storing that data so that it can launch each app quickly when needed. This happens every time you wipe the device caches, which is a necessary part of flashing any ROM or Xposed or similar.
Xposed is not what is optimizing the apps, it's the Operating System that's doing it.
I don't know much about AirWatch, but have you looked at the Xposed module for AirWatch devices? Research it, it may help. Also, go find the forum for your device and search for related threads.
Many security services are intentionally designed to be incompatible with modifications like root and Xposed, so it may be impossible to have them working at the same time.

Actually, I've done a ton of research on the matter but there is very little information for people with the Sony Z5 Premium. I do have "Unwatch" and "RootCloak" Installed. Both seems to work great for Airwatch on any other phone (HTC, Nexus, Galaxies at least)
The only reason I assumed it was the optimization was because it only crashes after installing Xposed. So if the optimization of it does not cause the problem, what does it change in the system that I could mask?

It installs Xposed, that changes the system.
