Sometimes can't hear the voice of person on other side during calls or even when i make a call there is no sound at all on my phone..even though the phone connects on the other side. Problem solved after restarting the phone but it appears again after hours....Plz anyone help..

My problem was with my sdcard.
Format your sdcard right from ur mobile this will fix this problem.

First one seems to be correct cause at that time I was using different card and after changing the card Never faced it again.

The problem occurs when opening the galley app while playing the music.
If u do this the music play back will be stop and the ear speaker stops working till u do a reboot.
I think moto g have a problem with the sdcard file system.
Formating the sdcard from the mobile itself will fix this problem

It happened to me once and I had to reboot. Thanks for the advice :good:
@omujeebr Thanks for the advice as u says I formatted my memory card but problem appears again. I think factory reset is my last option hope it will work after factory resetting.

But also had a factory reset too.
Now i am not getting that problem.

I have had this problem. A reboot fixed it. I have NOT reformatted my SD card, and the problem has not returned in a week.
I tested your theory, opened the gallery app while playing music and the problem did not return. I opened the gallery while playing music with Play Music and also with Pandora.
Edit: my problem originally happened after I was using the FM radio. I suspected the radio was to blame, but I could not duplicate the problem.
The problem happened after adding a bunch of apps and moving some to the SD card. Perhaps the phone needs to be rebooted after moving apps to the SD card. I will experiment. Edit: nope, I could not duplicate the problem by moving an app to the SD card.

Ok I got to replicate the problem , If I keep on playing a video on mx player ( in my case from internal sd card ) and if any call comes on my phone , then the earpiece automatically gets mute and i am unable to hear the caller..
And it gets muted until you restart

I have experienced this problem again.
I dont know why. We should report this to Motorola.
I think this related to sdcard and file management system.
I had this problem when xposed modules were updated.
I soft-rebooted and then there was no sound. Correctly rebooted and now is fixed, i hope
I formatted my phone and sd card but problem occurs again after 2 days. Now I'm gonna send my phone to service center.

we have the same problem on our Moto G 2014.
We bought on Amazon last month and it had same problem so we decided to use RMA and amazon have delivered to us a new one.
Same problem also on the new one after a month of use.
We tried everything.
Formatted sd card (in the first one no sd card was inserted). Not a valid solution.
Using dalvik or art the problem is the same.
Switch connection from 2G to 3G or from 3G to 2G not works.
The strange thing is that this phone is not updated. OTA for 21.11.23 version is not arrived yet. The entry UPDATE in settings menu says that the software is up to date.
We remember that with the first device, before we send it back to amazon, after the update to 21.11.23 it worked fine for the days between the update and the resend.
Wich version do you have on your devices?
Is there a procedure to install only OTA update without reflash the stock FW and without delete all data?
it works after restart so is not an hardware problem. I think it could be a software or kernel side issue.
I hope we can solve this problem without reboot phone every time.... is not a good idea and not a perfect solution! It's a "SMART"phone....

Same problem here, i'm on the latest lollipop OTA, no root, no sdcard in the slot, using only 1 sim in slot 1.
Can't hear anything from the earpiece during calls and also it doesn't play notification sounds and alarms.
I missed some important alarms and i'm thinking about throwing this brick on the road.

Think I have some signal problems too. Sometimes I have 0 lines but the service is there. I'm on Orange too ( Romania).
I'm on last firmware found on sonymobile.com. I hope it's something firmware/software related.

Very strange I thought the problem had just gone away, not had that issue for a few weeks, but today it happened again.
For me it happens more on the .195 software then the .303

I had the problem before updating to newest software, then I upgraded and for the first day after it was ten times worse, but after a few restarts it appears to have gone away. Touch wood, it hasn't done it for a few days now...

the problem is not the hardware you connect to the wifi and data connection that primarily have something blocking spam, viruses, etc. Format the internal memory and SD card backups take the both of them from the link above and then download the firmware update installation settings, make backups of your data and try to connect to the wifi waiting for the outcome of

I have been having this problem with any firmware based on stock .290 and .136. Be it Whatsapp or Line or Viber. Anything that sends an Audio message comes out garbled, which is extremely annoying.
The weird thing is.. this becomes PERFECTLY fine when I open the the SIM card port.. I seriously fail to see the connection to MIC performance here.. with the port being open! so it's just weird!!
I have downgraded to .257 for now due to this bug.
Can anyone on .290 or .136 try whatsapp audio messages and see if the problem exists for them too?

You have 2 microphone on Z1, when you record the voice message, speak to the one on top behind Led Notification/Phone Call Speaker.
BTW, Whazzapp always had this problems.
Unfortunately, this doesn't solve the problem neither..
It's really weird because it affects normal phone conversations as well but not as much.. I can use what's and click on the paperclip icon and actually RECORD a voice clip and it will come out fine... just when I use the audio button, it comes out garbled!
So damn weird!
Probably cheap codecs and the option in Whazzapp was always like that and many reported to have problems. Maybe with the next update Whazapp will fix that but now how do that I don't know. Just use different app to record voice messages and send them via whazz.

As stated in this topic. The only alternative is to click the thumbnail icon in a chat, select audio and choose what's app recorder.
That will allow u to send a voice note the old fashioned what's app way without the garble. Even still I've experienced app and phone freezes when trying to listen to voice notes via what's app. So hopefully the next update fixes it.

Just updated to MonX .136 and installed the beta whatsapp version suggested by slimldj..
whatsapp still has some form of garbled messages but it's 90% fixed.. it's good enough for me to use 4.3 based rom now!

I was going to post a new topic specifying this exact problem (although my phone doesn't seem to benefit from opening the SIM flap).
This garbled recording is driving me nuts, it worked fine on .257. I'm also in a Z1 (C6906) .290 based rom (iHackers).
Is there some way this problem can be solved? Any help or input will be greatly appreciated.

Hiya Aldo!
I was having this problem actually all the way until around 3-4 days ago when Whatsapp got updated. I was using the workaround by "attaching" an audio clip instead of pressing down the button to speak.
Without changing rom (Monx .136), I just updated whatsapp to version 2.11.175 and now it is working 100% fine now.. The audio comes out clear and loud when played back...

Just got my Zuk Z2 Pro 6GB/128GB from Gearbest. It came with international ROM and some disturbing apps, so i installed the official ROM ZUI 2.0.057 ST via PC/QPST and later updated via online update to ZUI 2.3.044 ST.
I live in Germany but the english system language is ok for me.
The phone overall is very impressive and i like it al lot.
The only Problem i have is that nobody understands me wehn i call somebody. They just hear a very very low voice and can hardly understand me. If i call somebody via speaker erverything is fine and they understand me perfectly. I tried to reboot the device an even tried another dialer, but nothing solved the problem.
I'm going to reset the phone and hope that solves the problem.
Dou you have any other suggestion?

you have the AICP ROM on the last version of 13/2/20017 and you steal have mic problem?
Yes, nothing did change after updating. Voice over the bottom mic is very quiet.

the mSwitch didn't fix my issue as the app seemed not working. However I found another solution that worked for me. You need to enter engineering mode and manually test the mics. Once I tested them (and they worked) when I came back to the system, people could hear me normally.
The setting can be found by entering the following into the dialer
*#*#1111#*#*
and then test these
Mic&Spk
BackMic&Spk
ANCMic&Spk

ok this didn't work permanently. i found another solution - disabling "OK google" on all screens. Seems to work, fingers crossed
First, sorry if this is confusing..I will try to explain my problem as clearly as possible.
okay...I have my Mi Mix paired to my vehicle through its OEM bluetooth and the phone works perfect if I just receive a random call while driving/sitting still and don't use any other apps.
However, if I exit the "phone app"...u know, to look up something on google or open any other app then no one car hear me through bluetooth anymore...even if I go back into the "phone" they will not be able to hear me through bluetooth.....the only way for them to hear me again is if I put the phone on speaker..but, of course, that isn't going to work as I won't be able to hear someone just through the speaker.
This is especially bad when I am using Google maps to navigate...because google maps will no longer sound out the directions..it will not sound out the directions via bluetooth OR the phone speaker.
What in the world is the issue here?

Same problem here, obviously it's not the phone itself, if I turn satnav on call is still going but no one can hear anything at either end.
This is one of the reason why I sold my Mi Mix and trying to sell my Huawei Mate 9. I had so much issues connecting via BT to Ford Sync. My Samsung Note 5/7 connected instantly while Mi Mix and Mate 9 can take forever and sometimes not at all.
I am also having this issue with my Bluetooth plantronics voyager edge headset. I'm on the epic rom. And can't seem to use any apps that also requires audio at the same time (gps)...
Anyone have a solution for this?

Don't know if I have the problem with ford sync in the Kuga, connects instantly but not tried making calls and using apps, with stand alone pioneer head unit in my van it's definitely a problem.
What a problem, still the problem, we have 2 solutions i think, wait or sell it, how ever, both are very sad...

As a work around I have been using Waze for navigation, under settings set to output volume via phone speakers, not tested yet will report back.
So that seems to work with the sound problem, can take a call with navigation running, still have to press home button, recent apps and choose navigation app, while taking the call but didn't cut the phone audio.
My car has nav built in, so I hadn't noticed these issues. Good to know though.

My wife's phone has some serious issues that make the phone unusable.
For no reason apparently, suddenly the phone is losing network, wifi and 4g, it's losing it after some minutes of use.
And sometimes it randomly reboots.the same, we do nothing and it crashes.
Really strange.

I also tried without sim card, with another sim and her sim in my phone. The strange thing is that all cases seems to be working. The only combo that fails is her sim card with the mi8.
Any idea guys?

I had the same problem, it was analyzed by several technicians and concluded that it was the main bord that died. If your problem is software contact this person he will solve the problem for you. https://www.facebook.com/sohel2589
Due to the lack of solutions, we sent it back to xiaomi. Now we are waiting for them to repair it.
Reading and reading I have come to the conclusion that the Xiaomi mi 8 came out with a factory fault in the welds under the processor and it is for that reason that many owners of these equipment suffer from loss of data, WiFi, signal and with random reboots , I for my part trying I managed to mitigate this problem by placing a thermal pair between the processor and the case making pressure and so far it does not fail
Quick review :
The phone came back today from xiaomi.
They noticed a problem with the sim slot, and they just did a system update and say it's OK.
Of course it's not, it's not working.
Just a look in sim options, I see it appears, disappears, appears, etc...
I tried some tricks but I think the slot contacts are dead. I retried with my own sim card, and it doesn't work work at all this time.
So we are going to send it back, one more time...
I have same problem here. I've already doing all. factory reset, wipe, etc, take the sim out but nothing's work. The worst part it also cannot connect to wifi when the mobile connection off. What do you think the problem is? is it hardware problem?

As I said in my previous post, it is not a software problem, it is a more specific hardware problem of the SoC (System on Chip) which is basically CPU, GPU, NPU, RAM AND BASEBAND which is why we are left without WiFi, SIM and random reboots
The problem is in Wifi Interface chip, phone reboots because is crashing, lag and overheating caused because of error dumps that created because of dead wifi, bt, gps, sim.
There is a fix, i repaired a Xiaomi Mi Note 3 yesterday and a Pocophone F1 with exactly same problem!
I will post solution at least tomorrow after search the schematics! Stay tuned!!!

Wifi Interface Chip is responsible for Bluetooth, FM, WiFi and Baseband enable. It's not CPU related problem!!!!

I am eager to see the solution you found, my only doubt is that you say you fixed a Pocophone F1 I suppose with the same problem, my doubt is if you have used the equipment constantly for more than a week since when solving the IC of the WiFi Xiaomi mi 8 works for about 3 days but it returns to the same

For the 2nd time we sent the phone to xiaomi. But this time, they changed the motherboard. Now the device seems to be working fine again.
