I don't know why it's happening. I put the phone down for the night last night and everything was fine, upon picking it up today the error started popping every few minutes several times in a row, without seeming provocation.
I'm including the Stack trace. It seems to involve MediaDrm Provisioning and gms.
I'm rooted and s-off 4.3, 3.05.651.6.

Anyone have any idea at all how to make it stop? It pops the error up every few seconds for a good minute at a time. Shouldn't there be something I can do with my phone rooted to make it stop?

Have you tried force stopping and clearing the cache for Google play services?
Sent from my kangaroo powered Inverted ViperONE using Tapatalk 2
Yup. Even tried uninstalling the update and updating it again. No go. ; ;

Actually, I lied. I did the uninstall update/reinstall, but never did clear the cache. That seems to be working for the moment.
What do you think may have caused it, since it seems to have happened while I was asleep?

Not sure, maybe something got corrupted during the update. Anytime a app starts acting up that's the first thing I do. Glad it's resolved.

I played this game a lot on my LTE, but it crashes on startup on this phone. I even tried going back to previous versions. None work. I'm running ViperROM, but I'm wondering if anybody has been able to play this.

I've had this issue before when I tried playing on a new phone. I emailed the app dev and they eventually fixed it. It took a few weeks though. It's most likely because it's a new phone and they need to update it.
Works fine on mine but I'm stock/not rooted so maybe the Rom.

I can't seem to post or respond to posts on here on the XDA app on my One says something about a security feature is missing, no problem on my Nexus 7 or i didn't have any problem on my old Galaxy S3, any ideas why this is happening?

It isn't the app; I use it almost daily from my One.
What else could it be, tried uninstalling and downloading ago but get the same message.
Everything else is ok, can read posts and subscribe, etc but cannot see a function to respond to or create a thread?

Sorry, no ideas here. However I am using the premium app, not the free one. Don't know if that makes any difference (I don't see why it should).
I get this same error sometimes but not very often. I just clear app cache and data and then it works fine again. Not sure if it'll work for you but it's worth a try

The app cache! Doh! Why didn't I think of that...
I'm afraid clearing cache, etc doesn't solve the issue still the same problems :-\

Try tapatalk 4 beta. I'm using it and it's working like a charm. Sometimes I get the security issue but closing it (pressing back when on the main/home screen) and then opening again works.
It's already available in the play store
Remember it's a beta though so it has its tiny issues (smilies don't show up correctly, they all show as the smiley or else in text) but it works and looks and feels very new and stylish
The only other thing I could suggest then would be to mention it in the XDA app thread. You may be able to get a solution in there.

I've been seeing this sync error every since updating to 4.2 possibly before too.
Did anyone know what is actually causing it? Screenshot below

I have the exact same problem, but haven't bothered enough to do anything about it. I get the same error, but it does actually still sync: so I don't know what's going on

Yeah I just hope it's not creating a buildup of error logs somewhere

Dane issue here as well, only the internet had the error but it still syncs even though it errors....

I had the same error, check post 4 here to see if that is your problem

I used to get this issue on my Thunderbolt constantly, something in my Google contacts is messing up the sync. I just disabled syncing of contacts, but I don't use google for my contacts anymore anyway so it wasn't an issue.
I noticed this after Google updated the navigation app. Any help around be appreciated.
Thank you

Same thing happened to me. GPS couldn't lock on a signal and after a while it randomly locked on one.
Same here. I got a lock using the 'GPS test' app and it seems okay now.

Same happened to me. I updated to 4.3 and I've never had a phone with faster GPS. I know its not am answer, but I'd imagine everyone will be on 4.3 soon enough. The GPS and Bluetooth are amazing now.

Mine crapped out a while back (didn't coincide with any update) but impacted more than just Google Maps. My running app also stopped working. I used the GPS test app and it kind of worked but was still very unreliable.
Called Google, told them I already did the requisite reset, and they shipped me a new phone in two days with a call tag for the old one. Been working since.
I had this issue once and found that there was an issue with the Location settings permissions. So I cleared map cache and data and then restarted. Turned on permissions for locations and it worked. Just a thought.

It seems that Android System uses a really high amount of battery, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas, or would know how to find out.
My battery lasts around 5 hours anymore, doing the same thing I used to do when it lasted 17+.
Any help would be super appreciated.

Why are you on JB? What setup are you using? Also, a screen shot from Wakelock detector would be appreciated.
I'm rooted stock 4.3. I just didn't really like the update from it, so I went back to 4.3.
I was fine til about a week ago.

More screenshots pl0x.
EDIT: Wakelock detector, and more GSam perspectives would be nice.
There seems to be no out of the ordinary wakelock events, but I will supply a GSam when I can.

I noticed that on 4.3, yeah, the phone radio was the biggest consumer of battery, butconsidering your usage, perhaps screen usage should be greater. Regardless, you're getting 4SOT/23.5SBY which is far better than I'm getting (2.5/14) on KK. lol
If you think about it, if nothing is waking your device, the phone radio is the only thing using power during sleep. So I guess it makes sense.
How about this? Supposing it has to do with the end of charge mechanic of the cpu, but it's worth a check.
Perhaps the battery is just going bad, after a year?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app.
Any other ways I could see what's causing such a drain on the battery? I fear pretty soon keeping it plugged in won't even give it charge enough to stay on.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app.
Or maybe something about this may help figure it out? I put it in Airplane Mode while charging and it didn't seem to make a difference in the rate at which it charged.
Could that possibly narrow down the cause?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app.
I just picked up the phone and started using it to read my Blinkfeed, and the battery suddenly dropped by a percent or two before it began charging again.
It's acting so strange.

That google play services drain though... Try installing the Amplify module for Xposed.
I supose reflash soft, then freeze google services in tb, and unfreeze omly when they are needed. Maybe it will help

Well that's a bit extreme. You need Google Services for a lot of things, and that app is central to the android experience.
That's not to mention all the FCs he could get.
I find the phone stutters quite a bit too. Like freezes for a few seconds then carries on with what I'm doing.

tbh it's hard to tell. I would say do a TI backup and flash something fresh. If you like JB, I think viper 3.5 is good for you.
You could also try calibrating your battery. I did it, and it seems to have had, at the very least, a slight placebo effect .
