Problems wtih Apps refreshing on Wifi - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I'm on my WiFi at home and it works fine except when I'm on Facebook app, it would not refresh. However, when I switch from WiFi to my LTE data on T-Mobile, it refreshes.
A few other apps has slow loading problems when on wifi but works after a while. I can browse chrome perfectly with full speed.
I have a feeling it may be my router or some "ipv6" issue.
Anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

WiFi shows connected but no internet access

What happens is that the wifi shows connected with good signal strength, both with public access points and my router at home, but I can't access the internet, browsers, weather updates, etc. don't work at all. Opera just shows error connecting to the remote network. GPRS works fine and the browser connects, no idea about 3G as I don't have it. A USB connection works fine too, no problem using the internet with that.
It happens after a few days of using the rom before this problem comes up. I've had this problem for two different roms I've tried. Not too sure what's causing it but a hard reset seems to fix it, but I don't want to keep doing that either. Tried looking around the settings that might cause this, but I can't find anything that seems to cause it.
Anyone have any ideas?
If it works after a hard reset/ROM flash, then eventually "breaks", it might be a 3rd-party application that's causing the problem.

[Q] unable to download apps from market/connect to gtalk on unsecured wifi

After getting the market up and running, i am unable to download apps or connect to gtalk on any public, non secured wifi network. However if i try using any secured network they work fine. When downloading apps it hangs on starting download. Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know a fix?
I confirm, open networks are a problem
I can definitely verify this as accurate. I was beating my head against this for a few days off and on. Once I joined a secured network, everything worked as expected. On an open network, no gtalk or market apps downloads. Wierd.

[Q] Strange data issue

Hi
A few days ago I started experiencing a strange issue that I just can't resolve.
Certain apps and accounts, i.e. Facebook, email, playstore, Google, Flip board etc. simply will not load/refresh/sync over mobile network. However, I can still browse the Internet using various apps (chrome, stock browser). With Spotify, I can stream music but am unable to download. There is no issue with the data connection as I am getting 'H' or '3g' and showing decent stats on Speed test. I have no issues at all over Wifi - everything works perfectly.
It's as if something is preventing apps from syncing/refreshing over the network but not affecting Internet access.
I have an unbranded device with a sim only Talk Talk deal.
Kitkat 4.2.2
4.12.401.11
I'm going to do a hard reset next but wondered if there was another solution.
Any ideas?

At work we had a phone that did not want to sync email on 3G. (Perhals other apps, we did not check.)
It turned out his phone was roaming on 3G, and the email client was set not to push mail when roaming.
I think the guy had bad signal on its own network on this location and so the phone was roaming.
He could still use his browser and many other apps without any problems.
Maybe it has nothing to do with your problem but I thought I should post it.
Because it sure has many things in common, also in this example on WIFI everything would work fine.
Kind regards, Stefan.
Thanks for that, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a roaming issue.
I've just factory reset the device, completely wiped everything. Tries to log into Facebook and the same thing happened. Switches to WiFi and it worked straight away.
I tried forcing the mobile data to only use WCDMA. This actually seemed to resolve the problem temporarily and I was able to update Facebook however it soon reverted to how it was and I was unable to sync email, update Facebook or download on Spotify unless over WiFi.
I'm wondering if it's the Sim card or possibly a problem with the phone but I'm struggling to understand (albeit with limited knowledge) how this strange behaviour could be hardware related...

[Q] TMO M9 Weird Wifi behavior

(Cross posting from the main M9 forum, mostly because I'm not sure if my problems are related to the TMO specific version. If this isn't appropriate, I'll remove it)
So this is weird. My wife and I just picked up two brand new M9's from T-Mobile this afternoon.
We're able to connect to the wifi with our new phones without any trouble, but the wifi is sporadically slow. SpeedTest shows download speeds around 14.21 Mbps from the phone, but 64Mbps from my laptop for SpeedTest. Google services seem to go really slow:
Google Play application icons are slow to load
Google Now's initial setup hangs at a blue circle loading with gray background
Google Music takes a good 5 minutes of buffering to start playing a song
Browsing to google.com periodically times out in Chrome: "Google CHrome could not load the webpage because www.google.com took too long to respond."
I'm also noticing that despite connecting to wifi, there's still the 4G icon in the status bar - with my old M7, if you connected to Wifi, the 4G/2G indicator disappeared. Is this behavior normal for Sense 7?
EDIT: I've tried the following, and things seem like they may be a little better. I'm not sure which is the potential fix though:
Disable Power saver mode
Disable WiFi optimization
I grabbed a spare WiFi AP that is dual band, 5GHz seemed to go faster, but I'm not sure if that's because it's inherently faster than 2.4GHz
EDIT EDIT: Just kidding. Still having issues. It almost seems like certain services are having issues. I could get to google on Wi-Fi and twitter would update, but Gmail, facebook, instagram, and hangouts wouldn't work.
Disconnecting from Wifi (and reverting to cellular data) "fixes" the issue.
"I'm also noticing that despite connecting to wifi, there's still the 4G icon in the status bar - with my old M7, if you connected to Wifi, the 4G/2G indicator disappeared. Is this behavior normal for Sense 7?"
It's normal because the M9 can transition from a wifi call directly to a VoLTE call. The M7 didn't have VoLTE. So unlike the M7 and M8, when you enable wifi calling, the cell radio does not shut off.
As for your speedtest results, was your laptop also running on wifi? When you compared with your phone, was it in the same area as the laptop so that the distance to the router would be about the same? And if you have a dual band router, was the phone connected to the same band as the laptop?
Good to know about the wifi call transition - that was one thing that kind of sucked about the M7. WIth regards to speed, both the laptop and the phones were running on wifi, on the same band, around the same area.

With my M9, I get 60 down on the 5GHz wifi band. That's the speed of my Verizon FIOS download on the computer as well.
also having this problem, i made a thread about it a while back but got no response. provided log cats too.

Phone using wifi all the time

I have no idea if this is normal or not, so i have to ask.
When switching on the 'Display network speed' to see the speed it looks like the wifi is working all the time. I tried to deactivate the apps that was running (snapchat, messenger and so on) but it still downloading. It shows speeds from 70B/s to 150B/s. Even when lockscreen is turned on its working. Speeds going from 140B/s to 300B/s.
Doesnt this affect the batterylife if wifi is constantly working?
Can you give me my huawey p9+ mead by China version 5.1 update and apps adres?
