Hello guys I got a sony Z1 used in very good conditions, except for the vibrator.... some times it makes a strange noise .. is there a way to DISABLE all vibrations for the phone? this include notifications, emails etc ALL, I already disable haptic feedback and keyboard...
My phone is bootloader locked. C6906
Hi this is a problem that affected the Z1 with the time, you can disable all vibrations in the configuration

I've looked in all the threads opened with vibration problems but haven't found my issue.
Which is : the vibration intensity raises with each press ( I think it has 3 vibration intensity ) To be more precise if , for example, I press the back button once I get a low intensity vibration, but if I pressed it quickly for 3,4,5,6 times I can hear how the vibrator increases the intensity and stays that way. So the intensity is not the same if I press the same button once or more times.
Has someone this behavior on their phones? Maybe is normal, but in my old S2 the vibration was constant form the beginning. Thanks!
L.E. : At least answer me please if your phone's vibration is ok, just test it by pressing the back button once, and then press it again for about 6 times repeatedly if you have haptic feedbak enabled
Happens on my phone too. Might be that the vibration engine needs to be more precisely controlled (could be done with software, maybe).
I also have this issue which I find rather annoying when pressing the back button quickly.

It's completely normal. The vibration is sort of a spinning disc and it needs about half a second to spin up to high speed. When you trigger short vibrations repeatedly it doesn't stop completely between each tap and the vibration feels stronger.

Thank you, this now makes sense.

The same here!
It's normal!
It is normal for Xperia Z maybe, but I haven't seen a phone that does same (Xperia U,J, Samsung S2,S3,Note2, HTC Sensation, Iphone 4,5, S3 Mini, even Allview etc.) , feels like a cheap phone vibration in my opinion. If I type on my keyboard, and I type really quick, the phone is continuous vibrating, that sucks in my opinion, where is the haptic feedback in this?
P.S. thank you all for answering, I thought that my phone had a hardware problem.
Try changing the vibration intensity in the keyboard settings, worked for me

Thread revival. I am experiencing the exact same thing on my Z Ultra. It feels really awkward to my Note 2. Not sure if it really is 'normal', just bad implementation.
It is normal. I ve tested it on several Sony Z . I ve even changed the vibrator in one of them and it is the same thing. That is how the module works.

After fixing the vibration problem now I this issue appears
Can it be fixed by replacing the vibration motor?
Hi,
I've been using the Sony Xperia T now for a while and something bothers me.
When I am in a call, my phone tends to put the caller on hold, switch to speakerphone, or just end the conversation alltogether. My idea is that the touchscreen doesn't lock when I am in a conversation and I press either of these buttons with my ear/head. Is anyone familiar with this issue and is it something I can fix myself? I've looked through the settings on my phone but couldn't find anything to help me here.
This issue doesn't happen every call, but I would estimate it does half the calls. Especially when I'm answering calls.
Thanks.
Never had any problems.

I just checked it. It kicks in at 2/2,5 cm's. So that's good then?

Not sure, mine activates about 70mm away.
Hey,
just wanted to ask a question concerning a slight issue I'm having with my HTC One.
With my SGS3 I was used to simply shut of all sounds and vibration during work/school, so that there are no vibration sounds while lying on my desk. Then, I would want to put it back into "only sound mode", so to have no annoying vibration sounds while lying on my desk, but just sound.
In order to do this, I have to check all apps and disable vibration in those apps, am I right? Like disabling vibration in whatsapp, facebook messenger etc.
But then my problem is, that when I want to add vibration when carrying it around in my pocket, I would need to add again vibration in every single app?
In fact, I would like to have a completely silent profile (no vibration, no sounds), a vibration only profile, and a sound only profile. Is this in any way possible to achieve?
Thanks in advance,
Ben
bump
I'll bump this as well. Has anyone found any nonrooted solution to this yet? I DLed Sound Profiles from Play, but that didn't seem to do what I wanted.
Thanks
Open options, click Sound, Profiles are right there (Normal,Vibration and Silent).

Normal includes vibration. There is no option for Sound but No Vibration. Driving me crazy!

Well, you can go to Settings / Sounds and turn off vibration during calls. I think that would shut it off.
Also, you can disable vibration in the power saver menu, even if that is all you shut off.

Turning off in calls doesn't turn it off in Notifications.
The downside to the power saver option is then I can't have haptic feedback on capacitive buttons.

The power save option to turn off vibration feedback doesn't affect the buttons?
EDIT: I'm not sure I entirely understand. But I'm using the Business calendar application for the reminders, and it has full control of vibration.
According to http://blogs.sonymobile.com/2014/09/11/333-things-you-didnt-know-the-xperia-z3-series-could-do/
one can:
Smart call handling – turn your Xperia Z3 or Xperia Z3 Compact on its face to silence an incoming call or bring it up to your ear to answer.

However unfortunately neither pickup nor silence does work here, even worse is that my ear constantly touches the screen while phoning and then random things happen ...
In system diagnostics the ear proximity (with my ear) works.
Do I need to enable these functions somewhere? Other clues?
TIA
Ah, I found it (by accident, was actually looking for something else):
It is under Settings -> Personalization -> Motion: Enable smart call handling
