Guys this question have been haunting me for long
so i had to make a thread about it.
I rooted my spice dream uno. My questions are.
What if i have rooted my phone and inatalled CWM.
Will i be able to update my phone via OTA?
If not then what is the method? (without ota)

You will need stock recovery to flash the OTA

Though this is a usual case, sometimes the ota overwrites cwm.
If you can get hold of the OTA zip file you can flash it from cwm without losing custom recovery.

Hello, few days ago I bought an HTC Developer Edition (64GB). Came with Android 4.1.2 and came Unroot. So, because I need to use Titanium Backup I root it and I installed Clockworkmod recovery 6.0.4.4 and then Superuser to root it. The problem is that now I cant make OTA updates (errors when try to update), so my questions are: how can I make OTA updates without errors? Need to install a Stock Recovery again? Where I can find it?

You need the stock rom without root and the recovery stock for your version main.
After you can apply the OTA
But if you have the Dev Edition, this ruu can help you

Thanks for your answer, This ruu have the recovery stock included? Is there any other way to update my Dev Edition without changing my room?(I only change the recovery to root my pone)...

This ruu will erase all data (also the sd) from your phone and it will upgrade your phone as stock, with stock rom, recovery, firmware etc.
Hi there, I have rooted my HTC ONE by flashing a customized recovery and a superSU.zip. So does that affect the OTA function? I dont wanna flash any 3rd ROM and just wanna keep stock ROM(And currently i am still using the stock version,i didnt make any changes except root).Can i still using OTA or if i still want such function what should i do? I'm sorry but I had read that, i'm asking this question because it was written in the comments that served the original recovery, while I have cwm. OTA works equally ? sorry for my bad english :/

no OTAs will not work with custom recovery, you need stock recovery

The rom is OTA Ready! You will need stock recovery to successfully run the OTA.

Since you did not provide your version, here is a collection of stock recoveries.
What about S-On users? Is there some option to get an OTAs updates without convertation via RUU?

Stock Recovery build.prop mismatch
Hi, I am trying to install 5.0.1 on a converted GPe HTC One M7 running 4.4.4 but am getting an error when trying to flash image from stock recovery. It says the fingerprint of build.prop release-keys is wrong (4.4.2), even though /system/build.prop shows correct (htc/m7_google/m7:4.4.4/KTU84P.H1/356549).
Any idea what could be causing this? I am usually using TWRP to backup/recover.

HTC One M7 Stock ROM
I have a HTC One M7 S-On with unlocked bootloader and I want to put the stock rom 4.4.4.
From what I have read I have to extract the boot.img and flash it via fastboot.
And after that I have to download TWRP from Google Play and copy the archive on my HTC and install it from TWRP (and I have to check Wipe Data) and it will do the rest.
Could someone explain me step by step how to flash the boot.img (I downloaded and installed adb and fastboot for windows from here)? and if I understood what I have to do in rest?

I unlocked my bootloader and rooted my device, and i don't know if i can upgrade my Nexus 6 by ota (received this morning on the phone) without brick it.
Is it dangerous?

Unlocked is fine. If you have root or any other system mods, you'll need to remove them.

Nexus toolkit doesn't unroot. It reflashes the entire phone which also means root disappears. If you're going to do that, no point taking the ota. Just flash full update.
You can indoor via the SuperSU app.

As long as you do the full unroot and made no other modifications. Oh and everything must be 100% stock, including recovery

download the factory image that you want to update to.
extract the system.img, boot.img and radio.img
Fastboot flash them.
You could also flash the bootloader if you want though I dont see any point.

hey mates! i want to restore my mini 2 on stock recovery so i can use OTA updates. There still is the stock rom installed from delivered. it was s-off'd, TWRP'd and rooted. I only want to remove TWRP so the OTA works again. can someone help me pls?
