Hi All,
I was looking for help to install KitKat on my HTC One, My HTC one is currently on Android - 4.2.2, HTC Sense 5.5 and software number 4.19.401.8. If i hold the volume down key when turning on i have ***Unlocked*** at the top of the screen but now i am stuck. I understand i need to S-Off my handset the use TWRP 2.6+ to flash the rom to my device. Not sure of the next steps and the guide i have read seem to be very confusing for a an idiot like me.
I am kind of answering my own questions, i am now rooted using TWRP and confirmed this by opening the RootTest app from google. Next stage is Kitkat

What do you want? 100% stock rom on 4.4 or you want to flash a custom 4.4 rom like arhd 51? Please also link the guide you are referring to and post the output of fastboot getvar all minus IMEI/SN
As far as i'm aware, you dont need to s-off your handset (I haven't anyway), but as far as KitKat Roms are concerned, i've just installed Venom One, and its fantastic! as long as you've installed some sort of recovery software on your handset, you should be alright, although i expect someone will be along in a bit to correct me if im wrong.

Great thanks for the responses, i thought i would go for a stock rom so i could see what it looked like and then go from their. The guide i have been using is (http://htconeroot.com/htc-one-stock-roms/android-4-4-kitkat-sense-5-5-stock-rom-for-htc-one/) and i am at the point of downloading the rom. I currently have the latest version of TWRP running and kind of have an idea on how to use it. TBH i am not to bothered about the stock so might try the Venom one as advised above. Could you drop a link please.
I have also used TWRP to backup my phone and the backup is listed in the Recovery on TWRP.

Tbh, both of these ROM's are pretty close to stock, but i found the Venom Rom has far more customisability out of the box.
The install went very well and it looks very good. Thanks for your help,

I've recently upgraded to ViperOne 5.8 from 3.5 (and prior to that 1.0) on a Sprint HTC One running TWRP 2.7.0.1. I've never updated the firmware, done an S-Off or an Hboot update. Does anyone have recommendations regarding firmware version, hboot version and s-off software that work well with my setup. Thanks in advance.

I believe i understood you were s-off already. If so you could update your recovery to the latest 2.7.0.4b and i would update your firmware to the latest as well. As for hboot i flashed roots aroma hboot and worked perfectly.

No, it is not s-off presently. I originally rooted it a year ago when new and installed ViperOne 1.0.
Do you know where I can find the latest firmware? Are you suggesting I downgrade TWRP from 2.7.0.1 to 2.6.3.0?

Anybody else have actual experience with a specific Firmware version that works nicely with ViperOne 5.8? My phone works well as it is but it I wouldn't mind getting more up to date performance.

Dude i've flashed every firmware update there was. The newest one would be the best for you but if not why not try them all then and find out which one works best for your phone. Here's the link to the newest one if you want http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687690. Also searching really helps out.

To be honest with you i would back up your apps and data with titanium backup from the playstore and then just do a full wipe in twrp meaning system and data as well. Just dont erase internal storage. Then reflash the rom zip and everything will be fresh and new. Then restore everything with titanium.
PS: just to let you know viper one has been updated to sense 6.0 if you check there link again.
Unforunately, I can't seem to do that now. Neither TWRP or Philz will allow me to do anything. Did I overwrite the SuperSU app?

Thank you very much. One little question: is this available also for Android 4.4? Because at the begining of the tutorial it is written: Also will work on Android 4.2.2 and Android 4.3. But not Android 4.4..
Also..during the tutorial they said: "*Note – For Android 4.3 or 4.4, please use the file “UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip” instead of v1.30". So..it is or not for Android 4.4?

it works for KK 4.4.2 + Sense 5.5, as you can see that is my current settings and I have no problem with that. SuperSU is for root applications, if you read it carefully from beginning you will notice it.
if you having a problem my advise is create a new thread if you having a problem during rooting activity. for me the guide is very2 simple and also the guy is posting his video tutorial during rooting so if you missed it, you can re-play the video.

Stock Recovery build.prop mismatch
Hi, I am trying to install 5.0.1 on a converted GPe HTC One M7 running 4.4.4 but am getting an error when trying to flash image from stock recovery. It says the fingerprint of build.prop release-keys is wrong (4.4.2), even though /system/build.prop shows correct (htc/m7_google/m7:4.4.4/KTU84P.H1/356549).
Any idea what could be causing this? I am usually using TWRP to backup/recover.
Thanks, Esben

HTC One M7 Stock ROM
I have a HTC One M7 S-On with unlocked bootloader and I want to put the stock rom 4.4.4.
From what I have read I have to extract the boot.img and flash it via fastboot.
And after that I have to download TWRP from Google Play and copy the archive on my HTC and install it from TWRP (and I have to check Wipe Data) and it will do the rest.
Could someone explain me step by step how to flash the boot.img (I downloaded and installed adb and fastboot for windows from here)? and if I understood what I have to do in rest?
Thank you!
Please help I unlocked and loaded twrp. Then I flashed the latest Bad Boys Rom 4.4.3 and now I am stuck at the HTC screen. I can't get it to do anything. I have read and tried for hours to RUU or find some way to get a ROM to boot. I am lost...any help much appreciated!

You don't need that zip file. Just extract to boot.img from the ROM zip. The zip file is specifically for MultiROM support.
