can anyone with a european xperia x2 confirm what 3g bands it has.
i keep on reading conflicting theories.
either its UMTS 900/1900/2100 MHz or UMTS 850/900/2100 MHz.
i think they are already being sold in the netherlands.
which one is it?
thanks
Any european variant of a SE handset always has 3G bands:
a) 900/2100MHz
or
b) 900/1900/2100MHz
but i saw some websites it says that it has 850mhz 3g plus i need to know if it has the 1900mhz because in manhattan where i live it works on 1900mhz 3g.
The XPERIA X2 white paper says
a) X2 (European) has 900/1900/2100MHz 3G bands
b) X2a has 850MHz/1900MHz/2100MHz 3G bands

6 months ago a friend of mine sent me a Samsung Galaxy S phone from Spain. Now the thing is that I am stuck in EDGE, and can't use the 3G network of my operator (Movistar). I live in a zone where there is no 3G service so I didn't notice it at first, but when I go to another zone, one with 3G, I'm still in EDGE!
Is it because I use the Movistar network? Should I switch to another service provider (Nextel or Claro)? or do I have the wrong phone for my country?
Europe (including movistar EspaƱa) uses UMTS 2100 for 3g. Chile uses UMTS1900 and UMTS 850. Nothing can be done unfortunately, because a European Galaxy S only supports UMTS 2100 as far as I know.
Correction: Apparently a European Galaxy S will also support 1900. Movistar Chile uses UMTS 850, however Claro and Entel PCS both apparently support 1900, so they should work. Entel PCS may be best as they use only 1900, whereas Claro apparently uses both 850 and 1900 (I don't know if that means some parts of the Claro network are 850 and others 1900, or all parts are both, which is why I say Entel may be better).
Some of that I read, but I wasn't sure. I live in Peru, and I think it's the same :S
Hi everyone,
Im with a huge problema with the Frequency of my UMTS,
When i dial to *#*# 4636 #*#* and get to system information/configurarion
there is an option to select the Band of GMS/UMTS
Automatic
EURO Band
USA Band
JAPAN Band
AUS Band
AUS2 Band
and if i select any of there the phone return Fail when i try to set any on these.
And i think because of that my phone cant connect at 3G and only to EDGE.
Any one knows how to fix that? Maybe a reflash of original rom?
I realize it's an old post...but same here. Anyone else?
@geraldoff
If you're on T-Mobile USA like me, and if your phone doesn't support BOTH 1700 & 2100 MHz, you may only get 2G.

I have the o2x (made in Korea, International version I guess?) and I only had 2G on T-MOBILE USA when I used it.
Hi,
I bought unlocked lg g flex d958 and now I'm using tmobile 4g network. The problem is my phone does not work with lte network. I only get EDGE. I live in Michigan, USA. I really appreciate is someone can help me. I've done a lot of research and readings about this.
First of all, some threads suggest to do the band selection. The code 5457#*958# does not work with this phone. The hidden menu code is 3845#*958# works with this phone. Unfortunately, when I try to select band selection, I can mark the band selection but there is now way to save it. I click "back" and return to band selection and it returns to normal.
Guy, did you buy the worse model to use with t-mobile
3G Frequency in T-Mobile 1900
HSDPA 900 / 2100 - D958
4G Frequency in T-Mobile 1700/2100
LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600 - D958
Then, to you, just 2G Edge conection
There is no solution, is a hardware restriction
Hi all,
Sorry if this question was already answered, but I couldn't find a clear answer in the forum.
I want to take a LG G2 as my next phone, and I consider buying a VS980 in order to have the wireless charging feature. My only fear is that I could not use LTE in Europe (France) as the supported bands are not the same between the VS980 and the D802 according to gsmarena.com:
LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600 for D802 (European version)
LTE 700 / 1700 / 2100 for VS980 (Verizon version)
My provider uses the 2600 band with FDD and it doesn't seem to be compatible with a VS980, does it ?
Can't speak for all of Europe, but there was no compatible LTE band operating in Bavaria as of last May.
